Joe Blow 50 years ago they just won the cup in 64 and another in 67, I think its been 47 years and most likely 48 after this season, Leaf fans do have a lot of patience and are one of the best, the Cubs are by far the most patient fans who haven't had a championship since 1908, which makes 1967 seem like just a few years ago.

Hockey isn't just about winning games, Winning the cup, or being the best team in the league. We are leafs fans because we simply love the sport & our organization. We grew up watching games with our parents, friends, and with ourselves, alone. That's not going to change just because we haven't won the cup since 67, lost 10 games in a row. Let the fake fans throw away their jerseys. And let the fans of other organizations make their worthless comments. We will still be watching the next leafs game, cheering for them. Win or lose. Go leafs go!
Hockey is about winning games though when in reality the NHL is a business. The players get paid millions to win, not to go out there like it's Timbit hockey and be like "well, we tried." We pay, especially Leafs fans considering how expensive their tickets are, to see them play and there is a certain expectation that they'll do better than lose 10 games in a row. I'm a Leafs fan, and will be no matter what, but it's to the point that people cringe and offer their condolences when I say that,

First off Steven great pipes on the Parody and good writing. Second we call ourselves fans and we pay to be one. No matter what the sport a TRUE fan enjoys the lows and the highs. I've always loved the banter between fans from different cities. Some years you get to be the bragger and some years you hide. As for the players being picked on is better than being forgotten. Leaf fans always find a reason to cheer no matter how bad it's going. One year they cheered the opposing teams with the hope of getting the NHL record for most consecutive loses. Now that's a fan.
This actually brought me tears..And I'm not even a Leafs fan :( I'm a Blues fan but I WAS a Habs fan for over 30 years when after one trade too many (the Halak trade and a gazillion bad moves,something unthinkable happened to me; June 17 2010 I fell OUT of love with the Habs... Almost gave up on hockey altogether ..Cried for 3 days on the loss of one of my most prized passions... You cant control what the heart loves... But then ,through center Ice I discovered the Blues coz Halak was there and even though he isnt anymore; I have found my true hockey love. Hope all Leafs fans either keep fighting for their true passion or ,like me, if the love isnt there anymore, find a team that will give them chills again... BUT I didnt leave because we were losing (we had just gone 3 rounds in playoffs), I just fell out of love... Hockey is a passion and I felt this guy's pain...
By the sounds of it you have some commitment issues.. before long you'll be ditching the Blues for a new stud on the block... Who knows maybe the leafs tank it this year and get McDavid, then made a few moves in the offseason and come out hard next year just in time for your Blues lust to fizzle and the redhot Leafs romance to begin ♥
The halak trade wasn't that bad.. Lars Eller has been pretty good for the Habs, and Carey price is the clear number 1. Dustin Tokarski is a solid backup now and will be a stater in the future. Halak is a good goalie and continues to do well, especially in NY, but u cannot deny that the last year in Montreal was his peak year

Price was always better than Halak. I can't believe there was even any consideration on the matter. Price replaced Halak in Hamilton for the Calder Cup and was the reason the Bulldogs won. I would have been pissed if it went the other way. I do miss Maxim Lapierre from that team, great grit player.

Okay, let me just say this video made me laugh so hard. You have a fantastic voice by the way. We had a supply teacher today and ALL he did was poke fun at the leafs, hanging up signs in our class saying things about the leafs, and giving us riddles about them! Then, he said: "Okay, now to business;" We are like, okay he's gonna teach us now, and he pulls out this stack of papers with Toronto Maple Leaf jokes, and told us to pass them around! Now, this guy was about sixty years old, and at the end of the day, after nearly five hours of jokes and rants, he pulls up these videos, and saved this one for the end. Let's just say it was a very, VERY, entertaining day. ;)

I grew up with my grandpa and dad always watching hockey and I remember how much my dad never gave up on the leafs, especially during the early 2000's when the leafs were actually making playoffs. it's been a while since then and my dad stopped watching the leafs now. I hope that one day, the leafs can pull off a "USA VS RUS 1980" style season and be the miracle team that reignites the passion for hockey for not only my dad, but for the city of Toronto as a whole so that we can feel a united passion for the team again.
