I love how his voice has not changed it’s very rare you find singers from the 80s who still can sing like they used to

    • @danc3693
      @danc3693 3 ปีที่แล้ว +49

Mochi Boi True but face it - at least the songs of theirs I am familiar with do not require what one might consider a very broad vocal range so that has to help. Now Steve Perry at 70 singing Journey songs? Don’t think so as he doesn’t hit the high notes like he did at 30.

    Lyrics
    I would say I'm sorry
If I thought that it would change your mind
But I know that this time
    I have said too much
    Been too unkind
I try to laugh about it
Cover it all up with lies
I try to laugh about it
Hiding the tears in my eyes
    Cause boys don't cry
    Boys don't cry
I would break down at your feet
    And beg forgiveness
    Plead with you
But I know that it's too late
And now there's nothing I can do
So I try to laugh about it
Cover it all up with lies
I try to laugh about it
Hiding the tears in my eyes
    Cause boys don't cry
    Boys don't cry
    I would tell you
    That I loved you
If I thought that you would stay
But I know that it's no use
    That you've already
    Gone away
    Misjudged your limit
    Pushed you too far
    Took you for granted
Thought that you needed me more, more, more
Now I would do most anything
To get you back by my side
But I just keep on laughing
Hiding the tears in my eyes
    Cause boys don't cry
    Boys don't cry
    Boys don't cry

As much of an influence the cure is on a lot of bands and from the time they made their best music, the thing I enjoy the most is Robert smiths humility and longevity as a performer.

Robert Smith is a total legend, I remember hearing his music as a kid in the 90's and then loving the cure as a teenager, his voice is incredible, as good as it was 30 years ago! Punk music and songs by the cure we're like the first things I learned on guitar too. What a legend.

It was my first taste of rejection. I was heartbroken. The girl whom I thought I would spend the rest of my life with rejected me out flat. I was a total wreck. Teary jerky .. Then I heard this song. And it hit me specifically the line " Keep on laughing, hiding the tears in my eyes"
And that's what I did.. I became a jerk, the laughing stock of the class overnight, but no one knew the true reason why.

For those of you wondering why his voice hadn't changed hardly any compared to his peers- from what I could find in some light googling, he never smoked. Every, and I mean EVERY other celebrity of the time smoked. It gave them a nice gravely back then, but it destroyed their voices with age. Don't smoke, kids!
