- Quick and easy Radish/ Mooli Paratha Recipe | No stuffing Radish Paratha | Moolangi Chapathi | Mullangi roti.
NOTE: Use mooli water for kneading the dough if needed.
Mooli paratha is a type of Indian flatbread made with grated radish (mooli) and whole wheat flour. Here's a simple recipe to make mooli paratha at home:
Ingredients:
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup grated radish (mooli)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp ajwain (carom seeds)
2 tsp sesame seeds
1 crushed Green chilli
1 inch grated ginger
1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
Water(or mooli water) for kneading the dough
Ghee or oil for cooking the paratha
Instructions:
Wash, peel and grate the radish. Squeeze the water and keep aside.
In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, grated radish, Green chilli, ginger, salt, coriander powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, ajwain, sesame seeds and chopped coriander leaves. Mix everything together.
Gradually add radish water if needed and knead the dough until it's smooth and pliable. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
Divide the dough into equal-sized balls. Dust a rolling board with some flour and roll each ball into a flat disc, approximately 6-8 inches in diameter.
Heat a tawa or a flat pan on medium heat. Place the rolled-out paratha on the pan and cook for 30 seconds or until small bubbles start to form on the surface.
Flip the paratha and spread some ghee or oil on top. Cook for another 30 seconds or until brown spots appear on the underside.
Flip the paratha again and spread some ghee or oil on the other side. Cook until the paratha is golden brown and crispy.
Repeat the same process with the remaining dough balls.
Your delicious mooli parathas are ready to serve! Serve hot with some yogurt or pickle.
