    If you've still got your Mean Streak, I found a great little upgrade for my 06, and think you'll really appreciate it if you tried it. The foot pegs from a Vulcan 750 (I had one at one time, and appreciated them then) will fit right on your bike like they were made for it, and they have a rest that extends from the backside of the pegs to put your heels on, to prevent fatigue on the long rides. Good luck. 🇺🇲

    I have this exact bike, in mint condition. One thing to know is that the fuel light comes on around the 5-6 litre (left in the tank) mark. The first time I took mine out on a longer ride, the fuel light came on after 215kms. 40kms later when I filled up, it only took around 12 litres to top it back up. I thought it was an issue with the fuel sending unit, but after doing some research, this is apparently normal.... I guess they didn't want people running their tanks too low in order to prevent overheating the fuel pump. As for the "stock" exhaust, the whole catalytic converter has been removed from yours. It normally sits behind the voltage R/R, ahead of the tire. Probably had the pipes cut and rerouted directly into the mufflers, which I plan on doing to mine before spring. I cut the guts out of the catalytic on mine. A bit louder, but not enough! I mostly ride sport bikes, but this was the first cruiser that I actually felt comfortable on, have logged my longest rides on so far, and is a very nimble motorcycle. Enjoy the bike!

      Nice one, How long have you had it?
      Yes I have noticed that about the fuel light. How low have you ran it? I have never done more than around the 40kms after light but I wonder how low the fuel pump sits as 5-6 litre is a lot of wasted range
      I was wondering if mine came out with no catalytic convertor fitted as i couldn't see any welding done to the exhaust for the pipe to be rerouted? How ever the previous owner did say he debaffled it so it could well have been removed. It sounds nice but not over the top. I am thinking of possibility of putting some kind of storage in where the cat used to be as it is a massive empty hole!
      Loving it so far!

    I bought this bike a few days ago. Over the winter I'm going to watch all your videos regarding the Mean Streak. Thank you for taking the time to record and share them with us. Do you happen to know the color code of this orange color - maybe 230 Candy Gold Spark? The side covers will need a paint job on mine, might as well get the whole bike painted. This color I like the most.

    Just bought one 2002 last owner spent a bit of cash to give it a more modern look. I'm absolutely loving it. Up until now I only road sports bikes. But over 60 now so I've found I have less need for speed..

    I am 6'10" tall and looking for a first bike, I just got my permit and seen a mean streak 1500 for sale in the area I am moving to next month for work. So I am not there to sit and test it to see jow it would fit. Any opinions?

    • @MOTODANS
      @MOTODANS  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm. So I'm 5ft6" and for me I could ideally extend the pegs a little as my legs are slightly cramped but I have to reach for the bars so I have fitted risers. I think with a little work it would fit you ok.
      It is alot of bike for a first bike but with your size you would be limited I would imagine and most bikes you would have to modify to suit your needs.

    I looked through your videos but I don't think you made a follow up long-term review of this bike, or did I miss it? Do you still have it? How has it been so far? Cheers

    • @MOTODANS
      @MOTODANS  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are correct. I no longer have it. I had no issues on it did around 10,000kms. Main issue was I could never get my pillion comfy on it even with the mustang seat. Went back to a bmw GS. Best looking bike I have ever owned though and the sound was great.

    • @motomium
      @motomium ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MOTODANS I see, thanks. Yes, the GS is what I'm being pressured to like but... I find its sound soo uninspiring LOL. Thanks for your great content, man. Stay safe.

    I'm currently looking to buy this exactly bike but silver for 2700 us, it is my first bike and I am concerned it's a lot of bike but I'm 5'10 300lbs so the lower cc bikes might not be great for me either, the price and condition if the bike is very hard for me to pass up as well

    • @MOTODANS
      @MOTODANS  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with your size a smaller cc bike would not be ideal. This is very easy to ride bike, my partner who is has a few years experience but by no means is confident on a bike can ride it no problem.
      If the price is right go for it, just maintain some self control with the throttle and cornering speeds until you build up some experience. If you decide to go for it I hope you enjoy it! 👍

    As a first bike would you recommend this to grow into or Vulcan 900?

    • @MOTODANS
      @MOTODANS  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As a very first bike I would maybe even look at a lower cc than the 900. Even just for the first year. This bike is good for beginners if you don't mind the weight, Danni can jump on this and ride it easier than any other bike she has had. Even though she is an experienced rider she is still not a confident one and she has no problem on this. Maybe even a yamaha v star 650 or vulcan 600 to start with then move up to something along the lines of this.

    • @todayisagoodday5027
      @todayisagoodday5027 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1
