FryL0ck a few years ago i'd be bitching about his 4 hour character-specific tutorials lmao. good thing he does these streams now with bits and pieces of tips here and there.
Actual tip to do running 2: dont think of it as FFF+2, think of it as FF,neutral,F+2 or F,neutral,FF+2. In other words, do the FF to dash, then go neutral (dont press any buttons for at least a frame), then F+2. Or do F, neutral, then FF+2 (I prefer FF first). Still takes practice but it makes it a bit easier imo. Hope this helps someone!
After testing with TekkenBotPrime's frame-by-frame input history: The more space you have between you and the opponent, the more time you have to press the attack button after the third forward input, as your character has time to be in the running state. If you are at actual range 0 (colliding with the opponents character) the attack button input needs to be frame perfect. 1 frame AFTER hitting and holding the last forward, if you input the last forward and the attack button on the same frame, you get your 'f+attack button' move. With perfect execution the input would take 6 frames and looks like this (frame by frame): f, n, f, n, f, f+Attack Button. The game is pretty lenient on how the fast and how long you hold the first two forward inputs, the hard part is inputting the last forward and the attack button one frame after. With successful actual iWR inputs, I had 1 to 4 frames of holding down forward or neutral before the last part. I'm guessing this happens because the game cancels your "running state" once you have no space to run. On the other hand, instant while running is possible because the game does allow you to enter "running state" for one frame despite there being no room to run. With the test and my knowledge of game logic, I'm guessing the game flags you for running state on the NEXT frame after inputting the third forward and cancels it on the following frame after that, once the game notices that you stopped, because you're colliding with your opponent.
So, in other words, we're kinda cheating the game engine, since the colliding was meant to stop us from running, right? That means that's some tech discovered by the community that was not meant to be used originally when the devs designed the game. That's awesome!
actually the trick is to go back neutral after the first "f" so f n ff+2 as a guide if you go to command list in training mode the cpu will show u a demo listen to the sound doesn't matter the distance the input will come out if u follow that rhythm.
jespek I think its when the recovery finish otherwise the first input is not gonna come out but i heard people do it for df2 counter pewgf . never try ff*f+2 tho
Aris, your wrong about this.. Most things you got right but this your wrong. I play alisa and started with kazumi and do iwr+2's all day lol the only important impute is the last f+2 or whatever the command is for your character. At point blank range you need to impute the last forward and 2 like an electric wind god fist. The three forwards can be done at any decent speed as long as you do the last f+the button on the same frame. I practice off of a jab up close or any other good on frames point blank poke.. Hope this helps. Also, if your having trouble doing it up close, start off doing it from a move with a bit of push back, then work your way up.
No man, there is a trick! How I do iWR moves is I put in a neutral input between the first and second forward tap, and treat the second and third taps as a forward dash. So it's kinda like f, n, f, f+button. I have a 2lb spring in my stick and my hands aren't fast enough to crank out three steps that fast, but using the first forward as a buffer has worked wonders for me.
@@peroxideman5292 Hey man,I tried this method but I'm still inconsistent with iWR2. Can you tell me what you specifically did? Is the 2 after the last forward a just frame input?
@@kshitiz6376 Its a beat, 1 pause 2,3 you press 2(or whatever character your playing) at the same time as forward or delay if you get good at it . remember 1..2,3
THERE IS a trick to do it: Do first F, then FF+2. It works with all FFF moves. Easy even when close to the opponent. Aris dunno all the shit.Or forgot some. Cause he had to pee.
It works as well if you press the last forward WITH the 2 because that's how I learnt. The way I practice is by doing a jab then pressing f, f f+input and doing it really fast but that was for Lars's SHB.
I've been playing Tekken for years. I've always wondered how tf players were doing Lars while running grab move, I could only do it when he's in one of his Entry stances. Literally just a couple of days ago I'm practicing with Chloe and after a tailspin move I was trying to do forward > forward as a follow up, but her while running came out instead. I went hmmm and started messing around with the forward > forward moves. I tried holding forward once then quickly pressing forward > forward and that actually worked, but basically...you just press forward > forward > forward really fast, but I don't think you can do it at point blank range in their face, I think you have to be a few steps from them to pull it off. But yeah as Aris said you just gotta do it fast lol. EDIT: I was wrong, I hadn't watched the video all the way through yet. I'm a Tekken veteran and still learned something new today.
James Summers I never thought you could buffer inputs like this in Tekken. It has uses for other characters as well, like for Hwoarang's Rag Art you need to be in his Flamingo stance first. You don't actually need to wait for the stance to come out, if you complete the full command fast enough, you might not even notice HWO switched to the stance at all. Been learning a whole lot of small little tricks since this game came out
Thank you Aris. This morning I finally understood how to do a instant rejection with Lars. This has been plaguing me for a while. Always wanted to do that. As well as a instant throw after dynamic entry. Thank you for being such a good teacher.
It's kinda hard to pull a the running things close up, especially on pad. What I do is: I do a dash and while the character dashes, I quickly press another forward + button. Basically you have to input the forward before the dash animation is over. It's not easy, but I feel like it is a lot easier in T7 than it was in T6
never used a stick so i wouldn't know, i but it looks to me like the 3 finger glide over the ball is easier. but as i said, no experience with a stick so i wouldn't know for sure
MrScreamingSilence maybe with practice it is... though I genuinely think a joystick simply cannot return to neutral as fast as a d-pad. Dash and run mechanics are almost always considered quicker and easier on pad. Could be wrong though since I don't have any evidence lol.
Y'know the funny thing is this video actually got me to land something I couldn't before even with spamming directional inputs that's not related to WR and that's DSS Legend Kick ender. I get DSS 4 instead of F+4 alot and this fixes everything. Thanks
I can give a tip actually. If using a controller you can use your right thump to hit the forward forward forward really fast and I find that easier to do sometimes if you are preping this move or doing it back to back.
Thanks for the explenation is helped me out so much with king his ISW. You just need to hold the 3rd forward and then press 2+4 its a fast but controlled input
Here is a little trick for King's SW : u can do the first f input while u are doing a 1 for exemple Something like that : 1f - (at the end of the move) - ff24
Generally strings between certain moves need to be input before the first move hits instead of during the recovery frames in Tekken 7, this is why you can do this.
Is it just me or are instants in T7 really easy to do compared to previous games? Last I played was T6 and it took me hours and hours of practice just to be able to do King's ISW 10 times in a row, and I couldn't do it consistently even after that. First day I bought T7, picked King, 5 minutes, at least 3 consecutive ISWs before missing.
John Manahan its just you getting better at the game. t7 has an 8 framw input delay which is 5 frames bigger than t6. ive been doing instant while running moves since t5dr i was a king player and i can defintely tell you its harder to do isw in t7. buffered isw is the same but there has just been a difficulty spike to do wr moves for me from ttt2 to t7.
Interesting, it always worked with: f N f~F+attack. Slightly pause after first direction to not perform f,f N by mistake. I guess T7 is more mash friendly, GG.
The hardest part for people to overcome (atleast for me) isn’t just the speed, that comes with muscle memory. But the fact that pressing 2 has to be times perfectly. Too late and you’ll do ff2 too early and you’ll do f2
Its a just frame. Need to input attack exactly one frame after last forward. Character is in while running for only one frame so timing is strict but speed isnt so important, just dont do it too slow
Can someone help me? I had this move with Jin when while running I grabbed my enemy while in air and knocked him to the ground with Jin on top of him. How did I do this?
HELL just make a tutorial narrated by aris ( beginner and advanced) ,missions, trials for each character ( like "perform 15 perfect EWGF in a row") ... GG does it so why not tekken? *gets night G heliport again* it's like the game wants to murder your ears dood...
anyone know how to turn around the generic (all characters have) while running throw? I know you can break it by 1+2 but I've seen people turn it around and slap the other guy in the face instead
Ah, thanks. Someone else said do it as fast as possible but what you are saying is more helpful. Just by playing some matches this is one of the few throws I can break consistently. Trying to look at the opponents arms more now for the other throws.
You probably need fast hand/dexterity to do it well. I just turned on T7 to check before I say bullshit and I did it like half the time in training problem is doing it consistently in a match. I don't have much exp in tekken (played really small amount in arcade when I was a kid and then some TT2 but only offline mostly vs bots) and I did it on hori fightingstick mini. So you just need to be fast enough dunno what else to say. I bet if I was stoned/drunk or really tired I wouldn't do it fast enough.
How do people recieve damage from my launchers but don't get launched? I've experienced this against Kazuya and Asuka players and I don't know if there is a way to tell if that's gonna happen or not, so I get punished for that and don't know how to prevent it.
Francisco Becerra could be a number of things. Maybe its something to do with those particular characters, like their hitboxes or something, or your launcher only works at a specific range or only on counter-hit. Are you hitting them with the launcher after a sidestep? See what I mean. What character are you using & which launcher? Maybe try looking up that particular move to see if it has any particular behaviours associated with it
Well, I've tested the launcher from max range to point blank, and also I know it doesn't work as a launcher from a counter only. I've also used it from a sidestep various times. It's d/f2 from Leo. And it doesn't have any particular behaviour from what I've seen ingame or in external sources of frame data. So since I've looked for it, and haven't found anything, I ask this.
leo's df2 doesnt launch on crouched opponents. There are some other characters that have this kind of df2 (such as law, hworang and bob). usually df2 that launches crouched opponents is -12 on block and df2 that doesn't launch crouched opponents is safe. but leo has one of the longest range for df2, so it is -12~-13 on block even tho it doesn't launch on crouched opponents
this is why when you test it on the practice mode you can always launch it. when you practice, opponent character will be STANDING without guard (same as whiff punishing or delay catch or catching movements in actual game situation). If you want to launch a crouched opponent, use hop kick. leo's df2 is mostly for counter hits (b1, 4 mixup is better for this), whiff punishing and catching side steps (it some how chases both side little bit in close range)
2 possibilities: 1. you buffered the first two f's and did it too early so only one f was registered. 2. you didn't release one of the first two f's completely so they registered as one continuous input.
It's so weird how much I've learned from Aris compared to any other Tekken tutorials

I have a little question: Should I as a beginner already bother with jumps and ariel hits?
that running 2 sounds awesome, it sounds like it'as coming from a walkie talkie
i got it how to do it, it's f,ff+2, the last f and 2 should be at the same time.
This doesnt apply to Kings iSW tho, does it?
Thank u!
I get it now thanks
Ive been trying to do this with Lars for the longest.
I played like 300 matches with him in 6 and only got rejection to come out twice lol.
He is right there’s no trick just do it as fast as you can literally
He playing with his Oscar again
The best way to do it is like making a beat out of it

Thanks a lot! I'm taking this into account to expand my combo repertoire :D.
Does this work it king his grab too?
Yes
Please do kings isw
how to do FFF+2+4 of lars
Does anyone know why I get ff2 despite pressing f 3 times?
2 possibilities:
1. you buffered the first two f's and did it too early so only one f was registered.
2. you didn't release one of the first two f's completely so they registered as one continuous input.
do f, then ff + 2.
forward , forward , FORWRD + 2 !
Unless ur kazumi
I find that doing iWR2 is super easy on the gamepad, but I can't do it to save my life on a fight stick.
Try slightly pausing after first "front", tap second two directions as fast as possible and press attack together with last "f".
I'm sure I'll get it eventually, but isn't Aris' whole tip at the end of the video to NOT try to do f, f, f+2 but instead do f, f, F, 2?
press forward when dashing. easy
I wish I knew this before learning Claudio. Well, if I can master this, the noobs heads will pop off left and right.
if yaksa is above intermediate I should probably feel ashamed for not being able to do this
why does he press forward 3 times? I play dragunov and forward forward 2 makes the attack come out ???
No idea man, was gonna comment the same thing.
Shit is even tougher than KBD.
Is easy with keyboard.
