    Excellent (first?) review of the Hayduke Ti. I own (and love) the steel Hayduke so I was eager to hear your comparison to the Ti version. The huge grin on your face at the end of the video spoke volumes about your genuine love of this bike. Side note: I'm always amazed at riders who are able to simultaneously navigate trail features AND engage in some thoughtful and interesting dialogue. My lower skill level requires the trail to command 100% of my concentration during rides.
    Keep up the great content Shad!

      I does help that I helped build and maintain this particular trail for many years as well as having ridden it about 1000 times....😂

    Awesome bike! And your comments on bike selection are spot on as well. I sold my full sus Orbea Occam (140/140 travel) after a short time just because it wasn’t the right bike for 95% of my riding.
    Also, if I ever run into you on the trail, I’d love to let you have a spin on my Banshee Paradox V3. It’s aluminum (and probably a bit big for ya as well lol), but has compliance built into the design and it’s a super fun bike.
    For most MN trails, I don’t know if there is a better answer than a really good hardtail (built to match the style/expectations/etc of the rider of course)!

    Awesome. My Japhy is steel and I can only imagine what the TI would be like. My Japhy is just plain fun, also as you mentioned power to the pedals is just there and climbs awesome.

    I own two steel hardtails (Cotic Soul 853 Reynolds and a Canfield Nimble 9 Chromoly) and I love them. However, I have been wanting a Ti hardtail. Question, do you think the Esker Ti could be an aggressive/enduro hardtail? What size fork do you put in it? Nice bike and video!

      It is set up to run a 140mm with 27.5 wheels and 120mm with 29 wheels.
      For me, because I actually like the quicker handling, yes it would be a good enduro hardtail. For most people, they like the super slack geo. So it would depend on what you like. This frame is not super slack, it's just right....😉

      I’m curious your thoughts on the ride feel between your 853 Cotic and nimble 9…. I own an 853 steel spot rocker and it’s my favorite hardtail. So smooth and supple.

      @@wesleywermuth9545 853 Reynolds feels slightly more suple and playful.

    What size tires are you running? I have the original 2.8 McFly toughs on my Japhy. I did pick up a pair of Vittoria Barzo 2.6 that I might put on my Japhy.

      I am running 27.5 x 2.6 tires. It came with the McFly tires and I liked them, but they didn't hold up to the Cuyuna trail surface very well.

    Nice video! Have you tried Brownie with the Hayduke? I went there a few days ago for the first time in a couple years. Managed to make 3 or 4 of the tough climbs and all the down hills. Not pretty but gravity gets you down. Was pretty wasted after.

      I have not yet. I plan to do a whole video brownie and I think this is the bike for it. Soon! I promise!

    I saw your other video indicated the ti hayduke frame set was 4.41lbs... do you have a weight of the steel frame to compare it to?

    • @ShadLife
      @ShadLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe I talked about the weight difference between the steel and ti bike and since the parts were exactly the same, that would be the weight difference between the frames. I don't recall what it was, but something like 1.5 pounds if I recall correctly.
