I've watched up to 2hrs 22 min, and I am still entertained. That really speaks to how good Seth is at what he does, all while giving the feeling that he's just trying stuff out and telling you about it.
I’m liking and commenting for engagement even though I’ve seen these before because I realise you’re having to keep the algorithm going while you’re dealing with far more important things. Good luck.
Seth, I would love to see you dive into antique bikes a little more. So many of the attributes of the Buffalo bike were normal features of a 1950’s bicycle. Lots of interesting history to uncover too. Early shaft drive bikes, art deco styling in the late 30’s before WW2, Peewee Herman & Hopalong Cassidy bikes, fancy frame lugs, etc. Interest in antique bikes (besides penny farthings) is fading and hopefully a channel like yours could breathe new life into it. 😊
Appreciate the video. Been watching off and on while doing some chores. Most of them I had not seen before even though old content. I was entertained and I learned some stuff . I hope you and your neighbors are recovering from the hurricane disaster.
Hy Seth , lets invent the DROPPER STEM , think about it , just like the saddle the stem would have a dropper on the fork tube , come on bike industry , you can do this
Glad you're back to posting normal content. I'm in eastern NC and seeing all the videos online is just devastating. Glad ppl are coming together and helping each other.
Another winner video! Thanks Seth. Lotta people would hang something floppy and a bit heavy on a tensioned strap to reduce risk if something breaks when straightening a swing bike....but that would maybe spoil the joke? Anyway, fun to watch.
Those XTR rim brakes were as good as it got until discs became commonplace. That includes the magura hydraulic rim brakes which had enough power to crush a rim. I'm guessing no bottle cage because the bolt holes are a place water can get into the frame causing internal rusting in that hi-ten steel.
Nice video. That technology still exists in carbon bikes too. If you look at the LOOK 695 aerolight frame, they also have joints built into the rear stays near the seat and bb.
This is thee longest video I've ever watched on TH-cam or anything else!!! I watched it all! Even though I watched these videos separately, it was a good trip down memory lane. Great job Seth! Your diehards will watch anything you put out!
I ride an GIANT DH COMP 2003 and although my stem is different it suits me upright in that position I was riding a road comp hybrid and I constantly had back ache. I found my fitness and stamina increased. One more thing a set of riser bars which will allow you to push them forward more. I rarely have to take my a$$ off the seat. Comfortable sitting position
The 3M beam on the Slingshot was developed for the Corvette if memory serves. I have one but nothing is weirder than the JP Morgen also in my collection of strange MTB. Machinist/Fabricator from Bay Area...Robin Williams had one in his collection also.
Cheers from Switzerland Not sure about the exact brand, but bikes like the Ca Go Electric Cargo are quite common here. And bike shops are in walking distance, so you can just push it there.
It is rehatched material, but Seth is very engaging and is still a good watch, but Seth if you want to seem taller you don't need to build a tall bike, just put lifts in your shoes.🤣🤣
This is great ... my 2 fave sports ... Mountain Biking and Pro Wrestling .... I got a bike expert that looks like my fave wrestler from the past ... Ed Farhat ... The Original Sheik ... from Syria .... now all we need is Abdullah Farouk as his mechanic!
I really want to see somebody, whether an individual or a company, create a modern variation of the slingshot. If I ever get a chance, I might do it myself.
The raised reverse stem is like riding a dirt bike motorcycle. I think stems are still way too low. The low handlebars started because the first mountain bikes were similar to road bicycles which were low for aerodynamics.
Oh the humanity! How will you survive!?- Maybe when you succeed on TH-cam you can assure your audience that all of your videos will be chock full of everything your audience has requested. Good luck!
@@mainetomass99 He use to do MTB trail builds and riding but now he has just turned to weird content. Can someone please tell me why things have changed so much?
Curious what you'd think of the late-90s Schwinn S-series full suspension bikes, where the bottom bracket is rigid on the stays and is suspended, allowing hard pedaling, at the time, without suspension flex. I'm sure there were tradeoffs, but they were interesting.

Great stuff you are doing with the Ford EV. How about some EV related Hack content. For example... could you build solar panel + batteries to charge your charge directly off the sun?
I wonder if anyone has done the Swytch e-bike conversion on one of those half bikes? Might increase its versatility toward a city or bike path commuter.
55 pounds. That’s pretty heavy. I has old 12speed Roadmaster Trailmiss as a child. I thought the opposite. This channel has gone in a very poor direction since it started.

I too am engaging. If it helps to really spur engagement, I will even disagree with you so that a heated exchange ensues.
engaging the algorithm

When you ride no-hands on the road with a Lefty…you have to shift your hips about 3 degrees to the left to compensate balance. 🙃
You are a genius - very educational video, you spend lots of time to create this, Love it!
Slingshot also made road bikes with the same deaign. My local bike shop had a mechanic that was on the pro road team.

Dude I can see why you have over 1 mil subscribers. This is like a movie and a good one at that.
I remember the first time that I saw a Slingshot on a ride. I wanted nothing more than to have one. It was magical.
Best bike channel! Thank you
Slingshot still sells bikes with no downtube. They also have a folding bike that might be interesting to look at.
I love your videos ❤❤❤❤❤
Oops, my estimation of you just went way up. A bike reviewer that can make a bike. Thumbs up!
Seth - never seen a Structure demo... me - wave at the Structure guys when I see them around town
Yes, youtube does shadow band, it's been several weeks and don't get notifications from this channel
Is this the best bicycle video on youtube ?
Yes.

I rode a Slingshot way back in the day, and I loved it! My uncle still owns his.
The coolest of all was the Ibis Bow-Ti. What a beauty.
Great compilation
These videos never get old
The Buffalo Cargo Bike's stole my heart, can you imagine how life changing this is for somebody who is has almost nothing..
Cheers from Switzerland

I think it would be interesting to modernize some of the retro bikes like putting wider handlebars and a dropper on the Y22 for example
Watchin this while on the trail🔥
I love the two long bikes, I love the front seated one for kids
Great Video. Thank you .
Spot bikes uses a composition spring like that, bet you could adapt one for the slingshot
you can always shim the seat tube on the kent and use a 27mm dropper post. KS E10 is quite nice in that diameter
and did i just see DDP ?
This has made me want a surely convert to pedal assist for bike packing and trail builds

Honestly they should make a seat post shock with dropper posts. Like a engineered sag to make it feel smoother
Good stuff
Get an Omafiets bike from Netherlands! Fact driven, super practical bike with a very long history.

I’m not going to lie 😅
Please build one of those reverse steering bikes. See if you can learn it. And how to build one.

Good condition slingshots ride better than many somewhat more modern bikes

Anyone ever tell you that you remind them of a young Patton Oswalt? 😊
someone please tell me where to get that stem at 53:05
Anything that's mounted by people is required a 5 to 1 safety rating. So a buffalo can carry almost 1,000 pounds and not brake.

I have a slingshot road bike. Not many miles on it😂
For older riders those higher stems are better for our backs.
Some fighter jets like the F-15 have a nose wheel that's just like the lefty.
You’re right, a throttle would be a good idea on that bike.
