This table is really well designed. Every piece is clearly labeled, th-cam.com/users/postUgkxn94T8Mu1iMnsLCMNOI9srXSsLkI4JXKW and the instructions are perfectly displayed, so it's really hard to mess up the assembly. The hardware is likewise clearly labeled. If I had a power driver, assembly time would have been cut in half, but I didn't mind the light workout. My only qualm is that is that the lift top is wobbly in between its open and closed positions, but that's really a minor complaint. For the price, you really can't get much better than this, hence the five-star review. I use it primarily for my wireless mouse and keyboard so that I can use my PC from the couch. Storage is nice. I'm totally happy with this purchase.
Haha, no need to apologize ;) It sure has inspired me, though getting the right tools would help (even if they arent as sophisticated as the ones you've used here!)
Great work. It's nice to have access to that level of shop tools but it's obvious your a craftsman and they are a convenience not a necessity. Love the design. I love building industrial projects, glad the style came back, and hope it stays.
Good job , I'm going to bye a metal cutting saw like yours today. I've had a abrasive metal cutter for years its very old. I've noticed yours,I looked into a Dewalt metal carbide cutting saw at Lowel.
I REALLY like how you did the 45 bevel on the long-edge of the table. Do you happen to know of any other examples of this? I would love to learn more about how it is done.
John Coonradt jr.5 sorry didnt get a chance to respond yesterday. the table overall size is 54" L x 26 1/2" W x 18" H. the metal is 1" x 3" tube. the wood came from a friends backyard redwood fence. thanks for the support!!
lovely work, envious of your machines and tools. Have you considered what hearing aids you'll need in the near future, because if you don't wear ear protection, you'll need them.
Great taste and skills, Sir! That turned out really classy!! I am just wondering if you could share what was used to create that rusty patina so quick.
i sprayed vinegar and salt in the first bottle, let it dry. then sprayed hydrogen peroxide, let it dry. then washed off with water. and then applied a top coat or BRI wax. fenix16450
fantastic job!! I loved congratulations !! can you tell me the model closes sensitive that you used to cut the metal? Thank you. saludos desde argentina
I don't know but, if I had the funds to purchase all the equipment he used, I think I could go out and buy one! ;) Now. let's see him make one using just ordinary tools.
i like his design.☺ who cares about his tools? envy is negative. you seem to focus on the negative things.😕 instead show a video of your design. ☺ using minimal tools?
John Coonradt jr.5 first bottle i used was vinegar and salt. let it dry. second bottle was hydrogen peroxide. let it dry. repeat process couple of times. then sprayed off with water and sealed with a top coat or BRI wax.
+truebluekit not the best for strength but it is actually stronger than I thought. doesn't seem like there's a problem. next time I would weld a bar going across.
i used BRI Wax or any topcoat will work. i would recommend adding a support . there is very very little wobble but i expect overtime it might get worse.
Are you just spraying polyurethane on the table top? Had a similar project recently that I just couldn't maintain the reclaimed look after finishing. Any tips?
+Raymond Vinopal I sprayed Sherwin Williams lacquer based Vinyl Sealer, and lacquer based acrylic top coat , it gives it a little shine. I have also just used BRI Wax CLEAR on other projects to keep the natural look of the wood.
All I need is all the fancy tools and shop like you have and I can make one of those tables........I guess I will just go to IKEA and buy one, it will be cheaper I'm sure.
Great work. Where did the wood come from? it looks like the type of barn wood I have reclaimed before. This looks like siding perhaps, although in Pennsylvania, most of the barn wood siding is beaded.
I loved watching this video. Gave me a few ideas. Loved what you did with the metal to create that rusty look. May I ask what mixture you used to create it? Thanks !
+Roma Maastricht thanks for the support! ya the first bottle was vinegar and salt, and the second bottle was hydrogen peroxide. then sealed it with BRI wax. Glad the video was of some help!
Wow! Amaizing! Congrats man! Beautiful coffee table. I wondering what is the Dewalt machine to cut metal ...? I mean, here in Argentina we haven't that the disc that you use to cut it. Could you please, answer me? Perhaps I have lucky and I find it ... Thanks in advance and you have my finger up.
i kept this table for myself. it still looks the same. except one of the boards that had really bad cracks in it and bowed got a little worse. if i didnt use that board. the table would have been fine.
Sucks for that board but I was wondering since I didn't see if you elongated the holes in the metal supports. Had a coffee table with a checkerboard inlay get completely mangled due to the fact I forgot to elongate the holes in the breadboard ends.
i used vinegar and salt for the first bottle. then hydrogen peroxide for the second bottle. rinse with water, then apply a wax or top coat. Greg Wallace
Adam Karkowski i used a lacquer based vinyl sealer, and a lacquer based acrylic topcoat. ya i need to use a mask. i turn on the fan right after i spray.(not shown in the video)
awesome build as always , i noticed you glued 2 pieces of wood to the bottom of the table, will that be an issue when the top contacts/expands due to climate change?

Came here expecting a little DIY build only to realize i just watched a master at work in his insane dungeon! Great work, love the rustic look!
Thanks Matt!! sorry, but I hope it inspires you to design and build!
Haha, no need to apologize ;) It sure has inspired me, though getting the right tools would help (even if they arent as sophisticated as the ones you've used here!)

John Coonradt jr.5 sorry didnt get a chance to respond yesterday. the table overall size is 54" L x 26 1/2" W x 18" H. the metal is 1" x 3" tube. the wood came from a friends backyard redwood fence. thanks for the support!!

Hey. Great job! How do you cover the workpiece from a spray?
Hello. Thanks for this great video. Can I ask you which product do you use at 3"39 ?
+S Elliott it is a sanding sponge. 220grit.
+Broken Edge Designs. Sorry i wasn't precised enough. I mean at 3"20 with the "gun".
no problem, its Sherwin Williams Vinyl sealer (lacquer based) and Sherwin Williams acrylic top coat (lacquer based)
Супер!!! Что за раствор использовали???

Broken Edge Designs, thank you for your answer👌
Nicely done. But is side-to-side strength not an issue?
+truebluekit not the best for strength but it is actually stronger than I thought. doesn't seem like there's a problem. next time I would weld a bar going across.
What kind of polish did you use after you rusted the metal? Also did you get any wobble from the table without an east to west support
i used BRI Wax or any topcoat will work. i would recommend adding a support . there is very very little wobble but i expect overtime it might get worse.
Broken Edge Designs you used bri wax for the metal?
yes
Do you have the wood planed or just make the cuts and assemble?
sorry kendall, I do not have any plans. I make them up as I build.
🇧🇷 Uau 😲 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Are you just spraying polyurethane on the table top? Had a similar project recently that I just couldn't maintain the reclaimed look after finishing. Any tips?

All I need is all the fancy tools and shop like you have and I can make one of those tables........I guess I will just go to IKEA and buy one, it will be cheaper I'm sure.
Great work. Where did the wood come from? it looks like the type of barn wood I have reclaimed before. This looks like siding perhaps, although in Pennsylvania, most of the barn wood siding is beaded.
+Jim C it came from a backyard fence.

What kind of DeWalt saw do you have cutting the steel
Wow!
DEWALT DW872 14-Inch Multi-Cutter Saw.
Nice ! What kind of metal is it ? Not aluminium because of the rust with acid.
+coyoteproject999 steel
As this video was made a year ago and I was wondering if you know how they are holding up to expansion and contraction?
i kept this table for myself. it still looks the same. except one of the boards that had really bad cracks in it and bowed got a little worse. if i didnt use that board. the table would have been fine.
Sucks for that board but I was wondering since I didn't see if you elongated the holes in the metal supports. Had a coffee table with a checkerboard inlay get completely mangled due to the fact I forgot to elongate the holes in the breadboard ends.
Nice work! After the rusting, what did you apply to the steel?
+Adam Russenholt I applied clear BRI wax
How did you join it with just a table saw and no jig
What are you using to help speed the rusting process?
i used vinegar and salt for the first bottle. then hydrogen peroxide for the second bottle. rinse with water, then apply a wax or top coat. Greg Wallace
Thank you for the info.
Dude I can watch your videos for yours! Great job, where can we buy this stuff?
Wow, very nice. What was the solution you put on the metal to rust it?
+jimgam730 hey thanks for watching!... first bottle I used vinegar and salt. second bottle I used hydrogen peroxide.
I was just going to ask that rust question...cheers
I'd like to weld up one of these tables with everlast table but I'm not sure where to source the reclaimed wood.
What's that finish on the tabletop? I got curious because of the spraying method and no mask ;)
Adam Karkowski i used a lacquer based vinyl sealer, and a lacquer based acrylic topcoat. ya i need to use a mask. i turn on the fan right after i spray.(not shown in the video)
Beautiful!!! Please. Which it is the model of the saw dewalt? Thanks!!!
thanks for the support!! the chop saw is DeWALT DW872 Heavy Duty 14'' Metal (Multi-Cutter) Dry-Cut Saw
Wow!! That doesn't exist in Venezuela. Beautiful Rustic Coffee table. Thanks!!
awesome build as always , i noticed you glued 2 pieces of wood to the bottom of the table, will that be an issue when the top contacts/expands due to climate change?
You should have more subs
Thanks Peter!
Can you please tell me the measurements of the Coffee Table. Good Job
I don't know what you mean about ,no I have a tank. I wanted to know if you welded the 1by 3 frame with gas Mig or flux core.
John Coonradt jr.5 i have a Mig welder with the gas in the tank. not in the wire.
.....(RZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!) OMG!!! I was wearing headphones*
Sorry Micah, Im not the best at editing videos, I have lowered the volume on my other videos, thanks for the input!
All good man! I'm still watching!
I really like it you should be change your name Master of the wood👍👍👍👍👍👍☝☝☝☝👏👏👏👏💪💪💪🙌🙌🙌🙏🙏🙏
Well, that's a lot of work...
Any supports from one end to the other underneath
i didn't for this product. but i would add a support from one end to the other to keep it more stable. John Coonradt jr.5
What is the height and width of the welded and fabricated metal ends
26 1/2" width x 18" height
Hey, Where did you get that clamp that you're using to hold the metal down in the chop saw? I dig it.
Chad Campbell the clamp came with the chop saw.
😍👌💪
