  • Thinking what to make for yourself or family next? Why not switch to a healthier version of pita bread with this small little power food rich with Omega-3 fatty acid, Flaxseeds. This Sourdough Flaxseed Pita bread combines the goodness of freshly milled wholewheat flour as well, which gives the perfect toasty spin of appetising and nutty flavour to the bread. This recipe requires less than 15 mins to make! Simple and I ensure that every bite is as tasty as the last, you will not be buying it anymore after trying this recipe.
    RECIPE
    175g Bread Flour
    75g Wholewheat Flour
    200g Sourdough starter or discards
    20g Toasted Flaxseeds (crushed)
    1 tbsp Sugar
    1 tsp Salt
    100g Water
    15g Olive Oil
    BAKING METHOD
    1. Bake in a Pre-heated oven with baking steel or pizza stone
    250C @ 5-8 minutes
    2. Skillet or grilling rack
    • bake the pita dough on a skillet or grilling rack for 30s (each sides), until it puffs up beautifully
    • If you don’t have any grilling rack, you may either cook them directly on the stove (traditional way)
    NOTE:
    ⚠️ Kindly adjust the hydration accordingly based on your starter consistency
    ⚠️ Recipe yield 8 Small or 6 Medium pita breads
