Great to see some basic skills vids for skaters just starting out. I remember how invaluable online tutorials were for me with no other skaters around at the time 👍👍
Figured I'd give aggressive inline a go as a substitute to park skiing in the off season. This series is an immense help, much more than other things I've found on TH-cam. Thank you !!!
One technique i use somewhat often is to have my skates curve out away from eachother and then come back together at their nose. Or just falling. if its a hill bomb just jump and do a roll into some grass.
I see that the most of the downhill skaters learn first the soul stop. I think that is because the stabílity it gives while going really fast. Nice video
I've never even heard of that one. It'd be cool to make a video putting all stops into their usefulness at speed category. Like these are good at high speed, these are only good at low speed. Thanks for the support!
this video is great. I’m confident in my balance but i realized today that I don’t really know how to stop, so this was very visually helpful for me. I have gotten all the road rash i need this week
Thank you so much! for the first time I was able to remove the brake from the back of my skates and because of your video I started practicing In my living room and now I am starting to get confident in picking up the speed so I can learn how to stop.
Thanks for this I got some blades last fall and now I’m starting to use them again I’m only 11 so I have breach’s but I want better blades in the future that don’t have breaks. I’ll try the T stop!
I really like the mohawk turn/spread eagle/disco turn to stop. you can lean really far into it without losing much traction, its more of a sharp carve than a true stop but you can redirect all your energy into a circle about as wide as a sidewalk. I'm not sure what you call this move but I've heard many different names and those three are the most common I've encountered. I often run my dogs while I skate and this has been the go-to emergency stop when the dogs suddenly pull over. *if you get good enough you can even drag a hand and its rad AF
Today I used butt stop (or B stop)when going down the hill, but this wears my pads really fast. Despite that your techniques works fine. Great video btw.
I love roller blading it's just my dad took off the brakes from my roller blades and I don't know how to stop without brakes so thank you for making this video

I actually appreciate this tutorial very much. Thanks a lot! As a beginner still in progress find my best way to stop. I find those tips very helpful. Gracias!
Found your channel just recently and i love it! You give great explanations without going into too much detail - because i think most of skating is just getting a feeling for it. But plsssss tell me: Where are you from? I've never heard your dialect before haha :D
I avoid hills because I'm afraid of crashing into a car or people 😆. If I do go down them I go painfully slow and its no fun. Although right now with the empty streets I can finally try out some hill bombs. Thanks for the comment!
I feel like my wheels have lasted so long with the heel brake. I still haven't felt confident going fast without the heel brake. I do swing one foot out and push kind of like the beginning of an electric slide to slow down but it's a lot of stress on that knee. I also do lemons to slow down.
I've only been skating for 4 days and this is exactly what i needed! Just a little question my wheels don't spin so well, after I've tightened them (a few were wobbly) they've spun even less... any advice?
I used to skate extremely fast and the only stop I knew was a spin. In fact, after going down a certain hill I would spin six, or seven times. It was crazy, but I survived with only one bad crash.
I don’t understand what my “dominant foot” is. I jump off my left foot, I play soccer with my right foot, I ride my snowboard in “goofy” stance, and I’m right-handed. When I think about how I do L stops I feel like it doesn’t matter which foot is where. My left hip is more flexible so it’s slightly easier to drag my right skate, but otherwise it feels the same. One doesn’t feel more natural than the other. I do notice though that cornering left is more natural feeling than cornering right whether I’m walking or skating. I always wondered if it’s because people always go counter-clockwise on tracks and rinks of if it’s due to imbalances in my body.
I totally think that having spent lots of time in rinks (ice and on quads years ago) has something to do with it. I have to go out of my way to practice turns and balancing on my right leg going clockwise because CCW comes so much more naturally to me. I never could understand why they didn't switch directions in the middle of a skate session to keep things evened out.
@@cerenademe9433 gyms that have indoor walking/running tracks are the only places (generally) where you can find a direction schedule. Like odd days of the month are CW and even days are CCW. Sometimes roller rinks reverse for skating games, but I’ve never known one to do it just for the sake of balance.
You can do the L stop no matter how new you skates are. If you foot isn't sliding it may just be becasue you're going too slow for it to drag. You go this! Keep at it 🔥
Hi my right foot is leaning on the right side when I Rollerblade and I can't control it 😔 do u know how to fix it? Its like putting all the weigh on the right and it feels like I'm going to twist my ankle
Lol I’m already lost on the first one. I don’t know how to swerve. I can only turn by lifting my skates and placing them in the direction I want to go.

Thanks for the video,
The pizza, or the plough stop, will be easier than a T-stop for people, who do skiing, as this is very similar to stopping on skies.
That makes sense. Wish I mentioned that 😬
Thanks for the tip!
I wish t-stops didn't eat at the wheels so much. I really try to avoid skating hills because of that. Usually just stick to flat lots these days.
