    Man, this was my first off-road trail ever! I did it in my ex's old pathfinder, that was rear wheel drive all stock! We were able to make it all the way to the top and only got stuck when we moved to the side to left an old 3rd gen 4runner move through. They were going to help us out, but we eventually were able to get enough traction to slip out the rut.
    Saw the guy drive super fast, driving backwards on that old 3rd gen. That's when I knew 4runners were beasts. I ended up buying a 4th gen v8 4runner. I've been slowly building it up over these past 2-3 years.
    Lift, all terrain tires, 4x4, suspension goodies, exhaust, light pods, roofrack, raptor lined rock sliders, you name it! I'm basically mostly done with the build aside for cosmetics like fixing the paint job.
    My goal is to do this trial again. Back to were it all started! I've done tons of trails on my runner, but his will always have a special place in my heart.

    Used to go up there back in the 90's. Great spot. It gets windy, but the view is worth it.

    Well done. Nice and mellow. 2hrs from home, not too shabby. I have a spot up near Angeles Oaks that is pretty remote with little traffic. This one is a good option too if I'm not heading to the Owens Valley/Death Valley region.

    Sick video man. Thanks for sharing this experience. I live in LA and I’ve never been to this campground. Looks like a nice spot to decompress for the day. Do you think the road is passable with a Subaru crosstrek? I looked up reviews but can’t seem to find anything on the actual road. Looks like a simple fire road in your video but I know the camera can be deceiving sometimes

    • @Echo16outdoors
      @Echo16outdoors  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh yeah I've seen Subarus in most places I've been. If it seems Hairy on a certain trail just stop and there is plenty of other trails you can try. Just get out and explore, that's the best way and I really enjoy the discovery part.

    Is there a specific trail name or number for that path you took? It looks like the link is to a hiking trail.
    Great view from that spot!

    How was the light pollution from Los Angeles? I’m looking for a stargazing area with dark sky and “kinda” close by. And not in the Joshua Tree area.

      Amateur astronomers go to Mt Pinos. At 8300’ it’s one of the best spots near LA for stargazing.

      I think fire was allowed but dont quote me, call the ranger station for this area and they will know.

    • @Echo16outdoors

      I wouldn't try it, the end is very rutted and kinda hairy in a few spots. You should go for the day and check it out first without a trailer.
