Infinity Unfolds inspired me to create my own alternative endings for Pointless. For example, if Joel in the central city finishes off a lot of opponents on his own, then he will already put on shirt 88, instead of Alex...
There’s actually a comment about this by the developer on the Infinity Unfolds game jolt page as a reply to one of the comments asking why Alex had to be 88’d ‘getting the final hit with Joel would prove to be quite difficult, as you only have a limited supply of empty bottles (I believe it is less than 48, which is the amount of kills required for Infinity) which would render the player's effort to kill them with Joel futile. Perhaps it is possible with Geen/Salt Crab, albeit extremely difficult. Regarding the Infinity Route, Joel/Salt Crab/Geen simply do not have the required moveset/variety in skills to survive against the remaining foes on the way for rather simple reasons: Joel - Will fire his gun at the first thing that moves upon becoming Infinite. Geen - Lacks survivability and is rather TP-hungry. Does not have enough defense and will not be able to attack quick enough. Salt Crab - His defense will not help him survive, has decent SP restoration but it goes to waste as his skills have a low damage output. In conclusion, Alex is the only suitable person to become a franchiser, backed up by game balance/lore flow. The others survived mostly by avoiding conflict/living a recluse lifestyle.
