Update - Finally got around to filming the video of replacing the headlight washer as the leak would still occur and fluid would pour out on the passenger side by the headlight. Just removed the headlight and couldnt find any leaks. It turns out that the under tray was misleading me by funneling the leaking fluid to that side. So, mine still has an existing leak near the reservoir. I suspect it might one of the grommets leaking when there is enough weight from the fluid to cause it. My suggestion? Just replace all grommets while you are doing the job! I'm ordering them now myself. I called Audi and got all the part numbers (minus the grommet mentioned in the video) 443-955-465 amzn.to/4fC7GTT 431-955-465-A amzn.to/494vsFi 7m0-919-382 amzn.to/3CH6fVC
I don't even drive an Audi but they must be hard mode for DIY. This is a really great tutorial, and I can completely see the time save in your approach with the wheel well.
One thing to note guys is this isn't the only spot you can have a leak from, so you need to properly diagnose it. If you are unable to fill it to the very top, but it retains fluid and does not drain completely (you can tell by the low fluid notification) then this is likely your issue. Other leaks could be from the washer housing or a crack in the reservoir itself.
I noticed loose wire in engine bay that I had no idea where was it coming from . Your video helped me as it was one of connector to the washer reservoir. Thanks,
You are welcome! Please note that I've discovered I'm also leaking from a headlight washer - have yet to replace it but plan to soon and will likely make another tutorial.
Because it instantly drains a big part of the fluid I put into the reservoir. I know this gasket was leaking because I was unable to ever fill it up entirely without watching it drain. After the gasket, I could fill until it overflowed and it remained at that level. The sensor isn't triggered right after I'd fill it up, but after some use. That said, I'm also leaking on the passenger headlight washer, which expedites the sensor being triggered as well. I plan to make a video of that once I get around to doing it.
Just the reverse of taking it out. I think I mentioned it more specifically in a comment here as its been a while. You just have to be patient and twist/work it in and look where it hangs at various points.
The round one I show at the end, yes. But leaks can come from elsewhere so make sure your actual reservoir isn’t leaking in other spots. Either way I’d replace the rubber grommet (part in description).
Finally someone who gets me 😂. Also, realized I also have another leak by my passenger headlight. Planning to diagnose and possibly make another tutorial soon.

Thanks! They aren’t the worst to work on but some things are annoying for sure. They’re great cars overall, I’ve loved mine.

Happy to hear! Thanks for letting me know, makes taking the time to film everything worth it!
Thanks for this man. Good job.

Excellent video!
🙏🏼
Thank you, I’m going through this exact same thing on my Q5
Hopefully it is the same solution! Please update!
It’s the same process for the Q5 - super easy
@@ProjectArjun Problem solved I take it?
@@MegaMilez absolutely, no more leaks, the dealership wanted to charge me hundreds to fix this.
@@ProjectArjun Sweet! Awesome to hear, thanks for the update. You mean the stealership!
That gasket is much higher than the sensor that triggers the low level warning. How could this be the issue?

how did you get the reservoir funnel neck back into the side panel?
Just the reverse of taking it out. I think I mentioned it more specifically in a comment here as its been a while. You just have to be patient and twist/work it in and look where it hangs at various points.
Was the leak come from that rubber washer?

@@MegaMilez thanks for reply! actually, my washer tanks started to leak after frozen..
@@jameswan670 could be the seal or plastic. Temp fluctuations are what cause that wear
Did you figure where the leak was coming from?
From the rubber grommet I replaced
@@MegaMilez I dont get it, that gasket is much higher than the level sensor that triggers a low fuild warning. That wasnt your problem?
Lol I literally was fighting first boss in elden ring half an hour ago on new game + 🤣

Do you think this will be the same process on an Audi Q8?
Would be similar if the reservoir is located in the fender. Just look up a diagram on a parts website to see.
