Bring that macerator with you when you stop by my house for a few days. I think my unit is going to be uphill from where I'm going to park you LOL good video again Ray I'm going to get one of those macerators someday I like to go camping up in the mountains of Idaho.
Thx for an informative video Ray I have a similar setup but use a 50 gal. Barker which I transport in TVs bed as that is too much "stuff" to maneuver in the tote. Happy Holidays and Camping to you both.
I've heard some people end up doing that. :) I guess if you used a long hose you could dump let the hose fill and then just keep lifting and dropping the hose to empty into the tote.
Ray, Love your videos as always. Even if I don't need the topic or device I like your explanation and methodology. HOWEVER, Sewer hose on the Picnic Table? no.no.no.no
I appreciate your concern. The green sewer hose and fitting were brand new out of the box. The short one and its connector I washed with soap and water prior. This picnic table isn't pristine at all. It is at a primitive campsite next to a lake with tons of birds, so it gets its fair share of craps on it and the area is known for toxic dust. All the best, Ray
Yeah, wasn't the best look optically in hindsight. I had put on a fresh set of gloves as I was going to be hooking up the new hose for its first test run. :)
I was always a little reluctant to get a tote. If you over fill, you will have a huge mess still left in the hose. Even if you cap it off you will still get that pressure that builds up when un connecting. Am I just being paranoid?
I know my tanks pretty well so I know how much will come out. You can add an extra gate valve attachment near the end of the hose so you can shut it off if the tote is getting too full and then return. I have one attached to my macerator so that I could pull it off to repair or clean if needed during a dump.
Great system Ray - I love it. - Fully configurable (I'd love to have the macerator - then I could dump at home into my septic). I have the same tote and the same height problem. - It just occured to me that adding a 90-deg. elbow at the tote might help solve the height differential a little bit.
Sorry Ray, to go off subject. We are wanting to put a rear view camera which records to an SDI card. Any suggestions would be welcome, thanks in advance. We are also talking about adding a dash cam, is there a possibility of being able to see the screens as we travel?
Check out some of my videos on one called a Haloview. www.loveyourrv.com/?s=haloview The last two models had a wireless rear view camera and wired dash cam. Cheers, Ray
Here in Europe we use the cassette system mostly. I had an idea for North American RVs which is to have a giant cassette with wheels. This would sit on the underside of the RV like a normal black water tank, but it could be lowered to the ground and then detached and rolled to the dump station. Having a separate tote tank has always struck me as being rather wasteful of space although of course as the system I have described doesn’t exist then a tote thing is the only option.
Some smaller RVs, mostly vans and little motorhomes here use the cassette system but North American's tend to have larger RVs given the more open spaces and big road ways. So the waste tanks are much larger and heavier. For example my 30 foot fifth wheel trailer has 3 waste tanks, two gray and 1 black they are each 38 gallons capacity. That's about 320 lbs (145 kg) So pretty heavy and would get complex to make each tank a cassette that drops out the bottom leading to high costs. In North America we for the most part don't dump gray water on the ground. Cheers, Ray
Yeah, save shower water for the last. Usually I'm dumping different tanks, Will do a black tank run first and then the grays. I have three 38 gallon waste tanks, two gray and one black and the tote is 36 gallons. So can't dump it all in one go. I have a 60 gallon fresh water tank. So I know if I use up that then 2 tote runs will empty me. Cheers, Ray

And as soon as some of the birds had enough toxic dust, they go into my pan and become a precious meal - duck and cover! (Everybody realized that the hoses were brand new, a silly question that. Almost too well answered🏋️👍)

I appreciate your concern. In hindsight, it wasn't the best look optically. But the green sewer hose and fitting were brand new out of the box. The short one and its connector I washed well with soap and water prior as I had recently done a repair patch to a pinhole in it. So nothing was dirty. Also, this picnic table isn't pristine at all. Thanks again Ray.
I have that same hose less the macerator. Comes in handy when using a honey wagon too.

3:50 - if possible (it isn't here) d in g some sort of a hole and get the s.-tank 10 inches deeper into the ground while taking over those liquids?
I've heard some people end up doing that. :) I guess if you used a long hose you could dump let the hose fill and then just keep lifting and dropping the hose to empty into the tote.
A 90 might be good for the intake of the external tank. Good job Ray!
Thanks, I forgot I have one that came with the tote tank.
Thanks! 🇨🇦

Another helpful video.
Haven’t used a tote yet. Thinking this through, do you leave a little space in the tote so you can clean line with gray water?

@@LoveYourRV Thanks Ray! Wishing you and your wife a Merry Christmas!
Ray How long is your hose off Macerator pump? I have 25', just wondering if your is longer.
It's 25' and I carry a second hose to increase to 50' if needed.
So,did you REALLY just spread out your sewage hoses, fittings and adapters on the picnic table?
