I'm going to make this. I got everything I needed, but then the beeswax I got is weird, and I didn't realize it was made in china, so I'm gonna return it. Do you have a suggestion on beeswax brand, or how to find a good brand to make this lip balm? Not sure if you can post your amazon links in a comment, or in the description, but I'll buy through your link if you are able to! Thanks!

I'm sorry to hear you had that happen!
The problem is that I live in Spain, so I buy from local suppliers. The only one I've tried sourced from the US was from Oslove Organics. They sent me some products internationally to test out several years ago, and I really liked their products at the time. They seem to have one pretty bad review comment right now, so I don't know what that's about. (Most of their reviews seem good, though.) I also haven't used them in years. I can give you that link, but I'm a bit hesitant because of that.

You can, at least, take a look there. I tried their black soap, and some of their butters (shea, mango, etc.). Overall, I was happy with it all.
What I would do is take a look at the ones that seem the most popular, and take a good look at the reviews before buying. Some people are unreasonable, so a few bad reviews isn't necessarily bad, but, well, you know... ;)

Thank you! This looks like a great project. My son wants strawberry flavoured lib balm-instead of essential oil can I use strawberry flavouring?

Yes! Ideally, you'll want to look for an oil-based flavoring. (Or maybe glycerin based) Anything alcohol-based may or may not stay incorporated into the mixture. Water-based products would need an emulsifier or solubilizer and technically a preservative. Of course, you'd be using a super small amount, so you may be able to incorporate an extract without issues, but I'm not sure.

Thanks for sharing this! I have found that sometimes when using the beeswax pellets, after they melt, I see floating pellets once it solidifies. Any idea why or how to fix this?

They say after it melts, hold on the heat for 20 more minutes

Can I use it as a “wax” stick for my toddler hair?
    Thank u in advance

      Hmmm.... interesting question.
I've never used a wax on my hair, so I'm not too familiar with the texture of the products sold or how they work in the hair. I'll have to look into it more.
That said, I'd imagine it would work. I use the tallow balm (without the wax) in my hair often and love how it adds a bit of softness and shine.

I followed the recipe exactly. It only made one .15 oz tube. Shouldn’t it have a carrier oil like almond oil? The end product was dry and cake-like. I could not apply it to my lips because it was so dry.

Where did you get your tallow from? (Mine is homemade, but I have also bought it from several places.)
Mine is quite soft so it needs the wax to harden it up. If yours is very hard for some reason, yes, you could use a carrier oil to soften it. I've never needed it, though, and my finished lip balm is very soft and glides on very easily.
Something else sounds off, though, as I get 3 of the standard sized 5ml lipgloss tubes (which I think are the .15oz your are talking about).
What are you using to weigh it out?
I've made this several times now and never had issues.

I'm not sure what toted pf is, but I always have a written recipe. Just follow the link in the description. In this case, you can find it here: thethingswellmake.com/easy-homemade-tallow-lip-balm/
In fact, my main focus is always the written recipe. I only started making these videos to accompany the posts at the request of my readers.
