A lot of people have commented on that but he is actually from Florida. He was born in GA but didn't live there. He spent his entire childhood in FL and graduated from a FL high school. His first big break in music came while in Jacksonville and Orlando. I think people assume he's from GA because he was born there and sang "Georgia on My Mind", but he never actually lived in GA.
Galveston island is an acquired taste, and i love galveston but here let the haters stay away, don’t get in my fishing way... lol florida beaches are some of the finest in the world so what’s the point
Florida does have the best beaches but if you want to be miles away from the nearest people in your own private beach you have to go to South Padre Island. I haven't seen that in Florida. Its seems like their whole coast is already populated.

A lot of people assume that the further south you go, the hotter & more humid you get & thus FL is the hottest/most humid state in the country. But that's just not the case. In fact, the hottest places are in the South but more _inland_ , where there are no coastal breezes & the humidity just sits & stays trapped. In fact, the further south you go in FL (at least along the coast), the summers actually get more mild, & the temperatures stay more consistent year round. Key West's _record_ high temp is 95 degrees... so it has never even reached 100 degrees. Whereas in TX, temps in the 100s is extremely common. More common than most of FL. The major difference is that FL (& South FL in particular) doesn't really have much of a winter, so there's less variation in temps. It just stays a nice, really mild climate throughout late fall, winter, & early spring. In most of TX, it gets fairly cold & even snowy in the winter. And there are some places in TX where the humidity is even worse than FL!
I've eaten my way across the country; Houston IMHO is THE best city to eat in the US, bar non! It is WAY better than Tampa. It has a huge Chinese, Pakistani, Indian, Cajun, Creole, Mexican, Texas Mex and is very reasonably priced.

I am a Texan who lived in Florida for 2 years for a job. Lived in both Orlando and Tampa. I absolutely hated Florida a first but decided to change my attitude. I am not typical, but I am not interested in cities, but nature. I decided to seek out places with nature and was delighted to discover the old garden parks that existed before Disney came in and ruined everything. Their state parks were also impressive and historical. Compared to Texas their weather is much better than any place I know of in Texas. I don't think there is any place in the hot season to escape the heat. It is just miserably hot everywhere. You pay 3 months for about 9 months of pretty decent weather in Texas. Overall, Florida beats out Texas in weather. Weather can be a personal choice but I don't mind the colder temperatures in the weather. I have learned after our summers to never complain about cold. I too fell in love with the Everglades just over a 20 minute roadside stop. I get it, but I adore Big Bend, and well it is because it is the very definition of Texas. You have to be rugged just to go visit that park. I am surprised he didn't mention Cape Kennedy in Florida. There is nothing like watching a rocket launch, especially at night. So, love them both but I am a Texan at heart.
I’ve lived most of my 50 years in FL and TX (primarily Houston and St Pete). I agree with every single point made here. Kudos for mentioning sinkholes, which I’d never heard of before moving to FL.

You sound like a cousin of mine. He grew up here in the panhandle of Florida where I still live, and moved to Houston to be near his wife's family almost 30 years ago now. Also, he is still to this day a big UF (Gators) fan too!

I live (born and raised) on the Gulf Coast of the Florida panhandle. I can say with confidence that our beaches here are criminally overlooked when talking about Florida beaches, even more so because I personally think they are simply "the best" beaches the state has to offer (and some of the best most unique in the world). Soft, pure white sand, and emerald green water clash so beautifully together. I don't know of any other beach in the world that offers this same unique combination. The area is always overlooked when talking about beaches in Florida; however, the area has grown tremendously over the course of my life. When I was a young child I remember the beaches were very secluded because there wasn't that much tourism yet, and the overall population was still quite low. Now there are almost too many people living in the area and tourism is at ridiculous levels along with more and more condominiums being built everywhere. I even remember in the late 90's/early 2000's there was a lot of talk that went around amongst locals that many different particular celebrity types had condos in the area. The one I remember in particular was Brittney Spears (I think it was a place her and Justin Timberlake had together back then when they were still together). At the time the area was Hollywood's "best kept secret" when most celebrities would have condos/homes in places such as Miami and West Palm Beach.
I can’t explain how or why, but the winters in the Florida Panhandle are way more brutally cold at 40° than states up north with winters in the teens and 20s. Something about how the Gulf Stream smacks into the Panhandle makes it the most brutal summer in Florida and the most bone-chilling winters in the state.
I polar bear swam in Florabama the year that there was light snow on the beach 2016 or 2017 or 2018 can't remember...water temps were Ok but Air temp was like 29 or something..went in for 2 minutes and 1 Free Beer for going in
I think the one thing this video misses is that all the good things about Texas can be found in Florida, while all the good things about florida can only be found in Florida.
Texas has allot more high paying jobs, very cheap, and has like Florida low taxes that is what makes Texas appealing compared to many other states as much as I love Texas it usually doesn't win any rewards in beauty despite hill country looking alright.
@Robert House Central Texas BBQ is a good start. Texas higher elevation places aren't limited to mount trashmore. You have Enchanted Rock, Big Bend, etc. Big Cities have a ton more green spaces in Texas than Florida. For as much as I love Ft Lauderdale/Miami area, I feel like Austin is a funner city. I'm biased because I'm the outdoorsy type. You either have beach or bog in So Fla, and Central Florida has all the humidity, but none of the ocean breeze. Florida has great parks, especially when you start getting to the springs, but Texas has a lot more variety. Also Bucees vs Wawa is no comparison. Don't get me wrong, I consider S Fla home, but at the end of the day, there's more to do in Texas.
As a person who lived in Florida and five other states, born and raised in Mississippi and now live in Texas. I have too say Texas win. The Texas Panhandle wins actually for me. All the other big cities in Texas are cool to visit tho. It's underrated up here and it's like a hidden paradise. We got Palo Duro Canyon too, second largest and only canyon next too The Grand Canyon. Y'all can have the over populated cities lol.
I love your comment. You don't hear a lot of folks talking up the panhandle. I like its wide openness and subtle beauty with cities big enough to give you what you need. Although I personally like SW Texas the most with the mountains
An update on this topic would be interesting considering how much has changed and how much these states have grown since this video was made. Pretty sure both Texas and Florida are in the Top 5 for most moved-to states in the past few years. They've also had a lot of political events and leadership/policy changes since 2016.
Lived in Florida (Orlando mainly) for my first 35 years. One big thing he overlooked is that for central and north Florida the cold water springs are heaven on earth in the summertime. Florida has over 700 of them. Orlando is made for teenagers. Endless entertainment! 60 miles of Suburban sprawl and endless traffic make it very unappealing for those who need less entertainment.
I lived in SA. Awesome town to visit. Very hard as an outsider to be accepted. If you can afford it Austin is a much much better choice with Houston a close second.
I'll take FL over TX any day. FL beaches are so much better, the attraction are better and the weather is better. I was in Dallas in July once and felt it was way hotter then FL due to the humidity and the desert heat
Austin is small useless dead city, Housten is boring full of obese fat people, Dallas is okay New York is massive and fun but is falling apart, Miami is fine for me

I've been in Florida 20 years, St. Petersburg. I grew up in the SF bay area in California. I have to say, I like it here as crazy as it is. Summers are hot and humid but less so than Tampa across the bay as we enjoy Gulf breezes. Winter is absolutely the best. So for me it come down to this: six months of shitty hot-humid weather, six months of wonderful weather. I guess that's why I've stayed.

Fairly decent comparison but I would disagree with DFW being boring. There are tons of things to do there. Also, Texas wins in over all terrain, West Texas mountains, the hill country, east Texas Pine forest, high dessert plains, gulf coast plains, south east Texas swamps, North Texas prairies. The beaches and weather assessment is pretty accurate though.
Something interesting I noticed when I moved from Florida to Texas is that the humidity must have helped me with allergies because I have to be on allergy shots here in North Texas where I never had an issue with them in Florida. The humidity also makes winters particularly brutal, but the sea breeze makes summers bearable. It's always a trade-off. I went to UCF and while I agree that the International Drive/Disney area is overrated, Winter Park, Downtown Orlando, Lake Eola, the Milk District, Mills 50, and Little Saigon are awesome. Also, Houston has some awesome ethnic enclaves with a wide diversity of food, especially along Westheimer on the southwest side of town. The East Side is also awesome and there are ton of innovative restaurants in Montrose. There's also the Orange Show, the Beer Can House, and the Art Deco hangar at Hobby Airport. I agree with your assessment for the most part. Can't wait to show this video to my native Texan husband :)
Another great thing about humidity that people always fail to mention is that it keeps the temps warm at night time, which makes night life a WHOLE lot more comfortable & bearable.
Nah, it's just that Texas has way more pollen in the air than Florida. I've lived all over the US including the Florida panhandle, and I was never allergic to anything until I moved to central Texas where I started having horrible cedar fever every winter until I got shots. And it's really humid here because we get a lot of air blowing in from the gulf. Texas is just an allergy hotspot in America.

Basically, South Florida (and coastal central Florida) as a subregion beats any Texas subregion, but Texas as a whole has more career opportunities, and Central Texas (Austin and San Antonio), and the trans-Pecos region (El Paso, and the desert/mountain region) beats North Florida and central interior Florida).
I have lived in Texas and now live in Florida and love both. Texas may get the nod on a statewide basis, but where you live makes a great difference. When I retired from the AF I had to choose where to settle and chose Florida and wouldn't change for anything. Oh, and Florida sales tax is 6% with local option for more. My county just passed a .5% so we now pay 6.5%.
From San Antonio and I love it here. Personally I can’t stand Florida’s climate during the summer, but I haven’t been there during winter. San Antonio and Austin are truly the best cities in Texas and have so much to offer :)
It was harrowing to see where JFK was shot, but I was blown away to see a drive thru-suburban style McDon adjacent to their huge skyscrapers. I attribute a lot the boringness to the suburban sprawl that makes it harder to have vibrant, distinct neighborhoods.
Legally speaking, never live 100 miles from the us border. Never live 25 miles from a nuclear power plant, 50 miles from a military installation, 250 miles from New england, at least 300 feet above sea level, above a dam, 10 miles from a river, not in the state of california or new york, do not live in a city that the top 5 industries are tech, entertainment, hospitality, service or government. In other words, surpkus jobs, jobs that wouldn't be there without the energy, construction, transportation, hospital or farms. Just think, folks, think about your future. Think about what has happened in the past and what could happen in the future. From there then think about weather, comfort, and job market and housing markets. Canada has many more cities than the us.
Ok can you help me a bit? I'm from Portland OR and trying to decide between Houston and Tampa to live in. I lived in Brisbane Australia for 2 years and can't stand Portland anymore and liked the climate and thats why I'm looking at these 2 cities. I'm in my mid 20s and single, I do like being in the city with the "city feel" and what has the better public transit? Other pros/cons of both?
I currently live in Houston but I am from Dallas and let me tell you I prefer Dallas! It’s much younger, cleaner, and wealthier. Houston is hot, old, dirty, and over populated.

I've always been biased towards Florida with its beautiful beaches and tropical climate, but I will say, Texas is a bigger state with a lot more varied geography. In Texas you still have the tropical climate around Houston, but you have also have forests, deserts, prairie, and even some small mountains depending on where you are in the state.
@@mentalvacations9539 but I said it HAS surf. Its not the pacific, but it is known for surfing. It does generate professionals, and you can surf there year round. I speak off North and central FL specifically on the east coast.

I’ve been to both places many times. I went to Texas for work and Florida for vacation and this is really the economies of these places.I hate theme parks, I like quiet gulf beaches and fishing. Florida is for vacation and retirement and Texas is about oil and telecommunications having worked in both industries. All my company provided schooling for those two industries was in Texas.
Love Gatorland in the Orlando area, but I’m not too familiar with attractions in Orlando besides the theme parks but personally prefer Busch Gardens Tampa over the Orlando offerings. Cannot wait for Iron Gwazi to open in Tampa it will be one of the most action packed roller coasters in the world.

I love Dallas...been here 30 years. Too bad you think partying is what makes a city great. Living here by beautiful White Rock Lake has been a joy, and I’m always happy when I get home from other states. I’m a symphony musician, & there are tons of playing opportunities here. Texas has great major symphonies & a decent orchestra in every town with a population over 100,000 (except Austin, ugh!) No diss to Florida, but I like hills, rocks and wide open spaces!
Fort Worth also has a lot of great art museums & a wonderful zoo & botanical gardens. Dallas has a lot of great shopping! Not everybody parties, everyone shops.
One other comment to add to both states (having lived in both)...Texas has a certain pride that comes with living there. It's not something tangible but, if you live there, you can feel it. Florida doesn't have it probably since many more people in Florida are not actually form Florida. Which leads me to my next point. I think you missed the mark on the food. While Texas has some great stuff and it's homegrown foods are probably better than Florida's, where Florida shines is in its food that was brought in from other states by people moving there. For example, pizza, bread, and bakeries are horrific in Texas. Texans will tell you they have great pizza but that's because they've never actually had great pizza. Florida, on the other hand, has so many Northeastern transplants that you can find good pizza. Plus, it has Cuban and Italian Bakeries and even some decent Bagels. The food is better in Florida (mostly). Plus Publix > Kroger's. But, even though I currently live in Florida, my heart will always be Texan. There's just something special about being a Texan.
I'm Italian from NJ. The pizza USED to be bad, but a lot of Italians from the NE states moved here and that's changed, especially in the DFW Area. It was just as you said when I first moved here many years ago. I've found some great spots in recent years. Still, back in NJ is better. It has to do with the water there being different.
We live in San Antonio, the wife and I spent 10 days in Orlando last year. And no we did not go to Disney World. We did however visit the Titanic Relic Museum, Cape Kennedy, the Animal Kingdom, Seaworld and Universal Studios. We did not get a car to rent, instead used UBER everywhere. My wife is 74 and I’m 67, it was well worth the trip. But you are correct, San Antonio wins hand down!
@@dinamarin4068 Yeah Galveston is too cold and windy in the winter, I live in Webster which is close to Galveston and we go down every spring break to the resort but this time it was freezing, 40s-60s and when you go on the beach, the wind is so strong and sandblast your legs and face, very uncomfortable, don't let any skin show or it'll be no so nice. Luckily the resort we stayed at heats the pool, but getting out means you were freezing cold, you have to go into the hot tub before drying off.

I live in Florida. Florida is nicer if you live in a small town imo (especially one closer to the water). I have lived in a major Florida city and I prefer to love in small town Fl. Less crime and cheaper. Also, you have weather in the 80's until November.

But you did get one thing definitely wrong both state sales tax are 6 and 1/4 (6.25 %) But each city is allowed to add one to 2% on top of that. It is also the same in Florida.
Also Hillsborough County Tampa Florida has the highest sales tax of your state at 8.5% the maximum allowed in Texas it's only 8 and quarter percent so you have higher sales taxes in Florida than you do in Texas.

I live (born and raised) on the Gulf Coast of the Florida panhandle. I can say with confidence that our beaches here are criminally overlooked when talking about Florida beaches, even more so because I personally think they are simply "the best" beaches the state has to offer (and some of the best most unique in the world). Soft, pure white sand, and emerald green water clash so beautifully together. I don't know of any other beach in the world that offers this same unique combination.
The area is always overlooked when talking about beaches in Florida; however, the area has grown tremendously over the course of my life. When I was a young child I remember the beaches were very secluded because there wasn't that much tourism yet, and the overall population was still quite low. Now there are almost too many people living in the area and tourism is at ridiculous levels along with more and more condominiums being built everywhere. I even remember in the late 90's/early 2000's there was a lot of talk that went around amongst locals that many different particular celebrity types had condos in the area. The one I remember in particular was Brittney Spears (I think it was a place her and Justin Timberlake had together back then when they were still together). At the time the area was Hollywood's "best kept secret" when most celebrities would have condos/homes in places such as Miami and West Palm Beach.

I can’t explain how or why, but the winters in the Florida Panhandle are way more brutally cold at 40° than states up north with winters in the teens and 20s. Something about how the Gulf Stream smacks into the Panhandle makes it the most brutal summer in Florida and the most bone-chilling winters in the state.
I polar bear swam in Florabama the year that there was light snow on the beach 2016 or 2017 or 2018 can't remember...water temps were Ok but Air temp was like 29 or something..went in for 2 minutes and 1 Free Beer for going in

I think the one thing this video misses is that all the good things about Texas can be found in Florida, while all the good things about florida can only be found in Florida.
Texas has allot more high paying jobs, very cheap, and has like Florida low taxes that is what makes Texas appealing compared to many other states as much as I love Texas it usually doesn't win any rewards in beauty despite hill country looking alright.
How about all the great things in Texas that can’t be found in Florida?

@Robert House Central Texas BBQ is a good start. Texas higher elevation places aren't limited to mount trashmore. You have Enchanted Rock, Big Bend, etc. Big Cities have a ton more green spaces in Texas than Florida. For as much as I love Ft Lauderdale/Miami area, I feel like Austin is a funner city. I'm biased because I'm the outdoorsy type. You either have beach or bog in So Fla, and Central Florida has all the humidity, but none of the ocean breeze. Florida has great parks, especially when you start getting to the springs, but Texas has a lot more variety.
Also Bucees vs Wawa is no comparison.
Don't get me wrong, I consider S Fla home, but at the end of the day, there's more to do in Texas.

As a person who lived in Florida and five other states, born and raised in Mississippi and now live in Texas. I have too say Texas win. The Texas Panhandle wins actually for me. All the other big cities in Texas are cool to visit tho. It's underrated up here and it's like a hidden paradise. We got Palo Duro Canyon too, second largest and only canyon next too The Grand Canyon. Y'all can have the over populated cities lol.
I love your comment. You don't hear a lot of folks talking up the panhandle. I like its wide openness and subtle beauty with cities big enough to give you what you need. Although I personally like SW Texas the most with the mountains
An update on this topic would be interesting considering how much has changed and how much these states have grown since this video was made. Pretty sure both Texas and Florida are in the Top 5 for most moved-to states in the past few years. They've also had a lot of political events and leadership/policy changes since 2016.

Lived in Florida (Orlando mainly) for my first 35 years. One big thing he overlooked is that for central and north Florida the cold water springs are heaven on earth in the summertime. Florida has over 700 of them.
Orlando is made for teenagers. Endless entertainment! 60 miles of Suburban sprawl and endless traffic make it very unappealing for those who need less entertainment.

I live Austin Tx and ppl come from Dallas all the time for the weekend. Austin is becoming a gem I think. And soon will be the best city in Texas.
I've been to Austin several times over the past 15 years or so and it has really boomed. It's definitely my favorite of the Texas cities to visit.

I've been in Florida 20 years, St. Petersburg. I grew up in the SF bay area in California.
I have to say, I like it here as crazy as it is. Summers are hot and humid but less so than Tampa across the bay as we enjoy Gulf breezes. Winter is absolutely the best.
So for me it come down to this: six months of shitty hot-humid weather, six months of wonderful weather. I guess that's why I've stayed.

Fairly decent comparison but I would disagree with DFW being boring. There are tons of things to do there. Also, Texas wins in over all terrain, West Texas mountains, the hill country, east Texas Pine forest, high dessert plains, gulf coast plains, south east Texas swamps, North Texas prairies. The beaches and weather assessment is pretty accurate though.
Something interesting I noticed when I moved from Florida to Texas is that the humidity must have helped me with allergies because I have to be on allergy shots here in North Texas where I never had an issue with them in Florida. The humidity also makes winters particularly brutal, but the sea breeze makes summers bearable. It's always a trade-off.
I went to UCF and while I agree that the International Drive/Disney area is overrated, Winter Park, Downtown Orlando, Lake Eola, the Milk District, Mills 50, and Little Saigon are awesome.
Also, Houston has some awesome ethnic enclaves with a wide diversity of food, especially along Westheimer on the southwest side of town. The East Side is also awesome and there are ton of innovative restaurants in Montrose. There's also the Orange Show, the Beer Can House, and the Art Deco hangar at Hobby Airport.

Another great thing about humidity that people always fail to mention is that it keeps the temps warm at night time, which makes night life a WHOLE lot more comfortable & bearable.
DFW is the allergy capital of the US. From mid September to mid October is horrible. I left DFW for this reason.

Nah, it's just that Texas has way more pollen in the air than Florida. I've lived all over the US including the Florida panhandle, and I was never allergic to anything until I moved to central Texas where I started having horrible cedar fever every winter until I got shots. And it's really humid here because we get a lot of air blowing in from the gulf. Texas is just an allergy hotspot in America.

Basically, South Florida (and coastal central Florida) as a subregion beats any Texas subregion, but Texas as a whole has more career opportunities, and Central Texas (Austin and San Antonio), and the trans-Pecos region (El Paso, and the desert/mountain region) beats North Florida and central interior Florida).
South Florida is a dump. I dont get the appeal. Its hot, trashy, full of rude people, too many transplants
I have lived in Texas and now live in Florida and love both. Texas may get the nod on a statewide basis, but where you live makes a great difference. When I retired from the AF I had to choose where to settle and chose Florida and wouldn't change for anything. Oh, and Florida sales tax is 6% with local option for more. My county just passed a .5% so we now pay 6.5%.

It was harrowing to see where JFK was shot, but I was blown away to see a drive thru-suburban style McDon adjacent to their huge skyscrapers. I attribute a lot the boringness to the suburban sprawl that makes it harder to have vibrant, distinct neighborhoods.

Coming from Atlanta, I've been to Dallas once and I was surprised to see how boring it was, the city itself is boring, and even the suburbs.

I lived in Brisbane Australia for 2 years and can't stand Portland anymore and liked the climate and thats why I'm looking at these 2 cities. I'm in my mid 20s and single, I do like being in the city with the "city feel" and what has the better public transit? Other pros/cons of both?

I've always been biased towards Florida with its beautiful beaches and tropical climate, but I will say, Texas is a bigger state with a lot more varied geography. In Texas you still have the tropical climate around Houston, but you have also have forests, deserts, prairie, and even some small mountains depending on where you are in the state.

I’ve been to both places many times. I went to Texas for work and Florida for vacation and this is really the economies of these places.I hate theme parks, I like quiet gulf beaches and fishing. Florida is for vacation and retirement and Texas is about oil and telecommunications having worked in both industries. All my company provided schooling for those two industries was in Texas.

Orlando has way more attractions and things to do than Tampa...
Love Gatorland in the Orlando area, but I’m not too familiar with attractions in Orlando besides the theme parks but personally prefer Busch Gardens Tampa over the Orlando offerings.
Cannot wait for Iron Gwazi to open in Tampa it will be one of the most action packed roller coasters in the world.

I love Dallas...been here 30 years. Too bad you think partying is what makes a city great. Living here by beautiful White Rock Lake has been a joy, and I’m always happy when I get home from other states. I’m a symphony musician, & there are tons of playing opportunities here. Texas has great major symphonies & a decent orchestra in every town with a population over 100,000 (except Austin, ugh!) No diss to Florida, but I like hills, rocks and wide open spaces!
Fort Worth also has a lot of great art museums & a wonderful zoo & botanical gardens. Dallas has a lot of great shopping! Not everybody parties, everyone shops.
One other comment to add to both states (having lived in both)...Texas has a certain pride that comes with living there. It's not something tangible but, if you live there, you can feel it. Florida doesn't have it probably since many more people in Florida are not actually form Florida. Which leads me to my next point. I think you missed the mark on the food. While Texas has some great stuff and it's homegrown foods are probably better than Florida's, where Florida shines is in its food that was brought in from other states by people moving there. For example, pizza, bread, and bakeries are horrific in Texas. Texans will tell you they have great pizza but that's because they've never actually had great pizza. Florida, on the other hand, has so many Northeastern transplants that you can find good pizza. Plus, it has Cuban and Italian Bakeries and even some decent Bagels. The food is better in Florida (mostly). Plus Publix > Kroger's. But, even though I currently live in Florida, my heart will always be Texan. There's just something special about being a Texan.
I'm Italian from NJ. The pizza USED to be bad, but a lot of Italians from the NE states moved here and that's changed, especially in the DFW Area. It was just as you said when I first moved here many years ago. I've found some great spots in recent years. Still, back in NJ is better. It has to do with the water there being different.

We live in San Antonio, the wife and I spent 10 days in Orlando last year. And no we did not go to Disney World. We did however visit the Titanic Relic Museum, Cape Kennedy, the Animal Kingdom, Seaworld and Universal Studios. We did not get a car to rent, instead used UBER everywhere. My wife is 74 and I’m 67, it was well worth the trip. But you are correct, San Antonio wins hand down!

@@dinamarin4068 Yeah Galveston is too cold and windy in the winter, I live in Webster which is close to Galveston and we go down every spring break to the resort but this time it was freezing, 40s-60s and when you go on the beach, the wind is so strong and sandblast your legs and face, very uncomfortable, don't let any skin show or it'll be no so nice. Luckily the resort we stayed at heats the pool, but getting out means you were freezing cold, you have to go into the hot tub before drying off.

Also Hillsborough County Tampa Florida has the highest sales tax of your state at 8.5% the maximum allowed in Texas it's only 8 and quarter percent so you have higher sales taxes in Florida than you do in Texas.
