- High security inmates at the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office rarely get to see family members while incarcerated. The staff decided to give a few of the inmates with exemplary good behavior a chance to have a few minutes in-person with their families.

I'll never understand why this isn't done more, you put the parents in jail to punish them for a crime, fair, and yes they should have thought about their kids before committing those crimes, fair, but it still punishes the kids as well, and they didn't do anything so I just think there needs to be more in prison programs to be in the children's lives more frequently, let them rest knowing their parent still loves them and give them a chance to reconcile before years go by and they can't

Auburn Orange and Blues The system has been broken what are you talking about? One instance doesn’t mean the entire system is okay. Countless men and women are arrested under false pretenses causing them to lose work and even their lives. While other states prosecute way too extremely for petty crime. The system has always been against everyone.

This is the most humane act of decency I have seen in a long, long time from any Dept. Of Corrections. I pray this act will become infectectous for other departments to follow, love the sinner not the sin.

These types of events are healing for all and motivation al for the inmate. I give praises to all those involved in putting this activity together.

Aww that was sweet of an officer to think about what these parents and inmates do without each other and I feel like that was a big opportunity for the families to get together 💓💞

Wow, there are still good police in this world. He is an amazing outstanding officer. God bless you. Not all of us are bad we just sometimes make wrong decisions or poor choices. This puts people back on the right track. For that moment it didn't matter they were inmates they were citizens just trying to fix there wrongs. Amazing all I can say. I cried. Nothing but love.

It’s a proven fact that this program is effective at keeping inmates children out of prison. This program is so, so important and I think it should be implemented across America.
I haven't done time, but I've messed up a lot in life. I still mess up, and need to stop. My 5 year old daughter is my world, my life, my everything. I can't imagine having to go without seeing her every day.
