You know, Julie. The UK 6:49 really is quite a charming place!!! I absolutely love the bridges and scenery, and you do a great job of capturing all the beauty!!❤❤
Aww thank you Andrea, the British countryside is just beautiful, I try to capture how we see it, so pleased it comes through on the video. Thank you for your lovely compliments! xx
Hi guys wow cruising along on a nice sunny day with that beautiful countryside as a back drop is my idea of pure heaven. The colours of the leaves on the trees and those wonderful reflections of the bridges on the water. Do you think the bug you got was covid? I got it a few months back. Isn't it always the way I hadn't been out in a large crowd for months and then one night I had a gig with my duo mate and some woman I couldn't even remember came up and gave me a hug and that was it. Knocked me out for a week,🤕🤢 all I wanted to do was sleep.😴 It's good that it doesn't take you to long to more up but doing those locks would have been a struggle. Thank goodness you both are ok now. Stay safe guys and I 'll catch you on the next one.👍🏻
Hi Geoff, yes, it was Covid, we tested positive so stayed moored up and kept ourselves to ourselves, it knocked us sideways for a good week. I didn’t like to call it Covid on camera, as some people are very sensitive around it. We made sure we weren’t contagious before moving off, but we had been in Crick for too long and didn’t want to overstay. Apparently there were a few people that contracted it at the Crick show, not quite the souvenir we wanted lol. You’re right though, cruising along the canal in glorious weather, with rolling countryside really was the tonic we needed! Thank you Geoff! xx
The brick bridges are so pretty and the tunnels were a bit unnerving. Looks like the weather was good for most of your journey. I laughed when Martin tooted the horn and the swans swimming nearby seemed a little nervous at the noise. Finally good weather here in Washington State on the eastern side. Had a bad thunderstorm go through Tuesday afternoon with dime-sized hail and a lot of rain.
Oh wow, that thunderstorm sounded fierce! We both love a good thunderstorm, we don’t tend to get many here in the UK. But yes, the weather has finally picked up here too, it’s lovely and warm! Thank you Joyce! xx
Hope by now you are feeling back to normal Julie! New subscriber here- just wanted to tell you that I love the use you make of natural sounds in your vlogs. Love the birdsong and 'burbling' canal sounds. So much more relaxing than the 'unique' soundtracks that accompany other vlogs! Thank you for your lovely filming and natural soundtrack!
Hi Barbara, thank you so much, that’s lovely of you to say! We try to show the natural sounds when we can, you can’t beat but messing and the sound of water, it’s very relaxing. We try to keep music to a minimum, but occasionally wind noise, or traffic noise if we’re near a road, or a train goes past, or people talking etc, hopefully a bit of a mix. Thank you so much, it’s lovely to have you onboard! xx
Another gorgeous video even though you were both still suffering! Thank you for providing us with another gentle, idyllic 30-something minutes of 'feel good factor'. Your videos are a huge highlight and always something to look forward to. If World Leaders were made to sit and watch your vlogs there'd be no more wars!
Thank you Martin, what a lovely comment, so pleased you are really enjoying our little videos! We try to keep them just how canals are, gentle and relaxing, it’s why we like this life on the water. Thank you so much, it’s lovely to hear this, thank you! xx
The two black & white cows that you called Galloway’s in America we call the Oreo,s after the cookie “Oreo”. So enjoy you video’s and your beautiful country it so reminds me of Pennsylvania ☺️
Hi Julie & Martin. As usual, another great vlog, and hope both of you are better soon. Love it when lots of my live aboard boaters meet up, or pass each other. I am subscribed to 21 (a few no longer active) narrowboat channels, and am amazed at how different the numbers of subscribers are. I love all of them pretty much equally, as they all show their own take on canal life. I also cannot understand why, on almost any TH-cam channel, the number of subscribers, compared with the number of viewers is so low? Look forward to your next one.
Hi Alan, thank you! Yes, we’re not sure why that is, it may be because TH-cam use the word subscribe, a lot of people assume you have to pay a subscription, even though it is totally free. It’s a shame they don’t use the word follow, as we probably would get a lot more people. Thank you so much Alan! xx
Glad you are both feeling better. I am a bit ruff today😝 and it isn’t a hang over this time! Yes,it’s been a very poor weather spring. I do enjoy the canal views you video.. Even Watford Gap services (the canal) is green and lovely. I know the A5 and M1 there very well. Your boat remains looking smart and looked after. Saw the engine servicing - heroic of Martin to do it while obviously unwell. Regards, phil, Suffolk🇬🇧
Ahhh you both looked and sounded so poorly, well done for getting the vlog out . That's dedication . Look forward to seeing you both soon x Have a fantastic week 🎉🎉
Hi Debbie, we really didn’t feel up to it, but needed to move from Crick as we’d been there so long, and I didn’t want to leave out a whole journey either. Thank you for your lovely words Debbie and hopefully we’ll see you both soon! xx
Lovely cruise with all the wonderful birdsong. I knew you were both under the weather but I didn't realize it was for such a long time. Glad you are better! ❤
I fell in a hole on the bank on the Coventry Canal. Now I do need to be able to see the ground. I was terribly sore and spectacularly black and blue. Lovely vlog! I’m sorry you were both feeling poorly.
Aww sorry to hear that, it’s awful when you fall down a hole and they are so hard to see. But yes, if I can’t see the ground I won’t step off. It does make it harder now that CRT are not doing right up to the edges where we moor, often because of this there are other issues like wall nests and ants too! We just have to be extra vigilant don’t we, thank you! xx
Hay Julie and Martin, beautiful video as always and a very happy summer solstice to you both. Hope you have a wonderful week and Rhapsody is running well following her service the other day. Lots of love to you both
Hi Edward, that engine service video was from last year, I explained it in the description, for some reason it had disappeared from TH-cam and even TH-cam had no trace of it so advised me to re-upload it, as many people probably hadn’t seen it. Happy Summer Solstice to you too, have a lovely week, thanks Edward! xx
Hello I enjoyed this video! I also enjoyed another video from The Vlog Couple looks like you all had a great time lol ! Martin you were looking good from the front and the back!! It did look fun bye from Oregon
It is a glorious canal, so beautiful there! Guess you are all chilled out after a day’s cruising.( if Martin doesn’t get you jumping with the hooter that is)

I’m playing catch up. I’m so sorry you were both not feeling well. That must be bad when you have to move the boat. So hope you both got to feeling better.

Please pass on our condolences, our hearts go out to his family and yourself too Nicholas ❤️🩹❤️🩹 You’re in our thoughts and prayers xx
Glad to see your feeling better, Martin told us you weren't at all. Isn't it great to have a partner to look after you.. Bless you both. a lovely video I'm really partial to scenes like those. So peaceful l. A question if you don't mind.. do you ever fish in the canal?
Aww thank you for your lovely words Steve, much appreciated! Martin has occasionally fished the canal, he prefers to fish in clearer water though and he always puts the fish back in, as is expected. Thanks Steve! xx
Aww bless you I recall you telling me you both had that nasty bug, so glad you are on the mend and huge well done fir vlogging anything feeling like that, much love to you both ❤❤❤❤

Hi Dale, the canals were originally built for industry, hundreds of years ago, long before engines. The boats used to carry all sorts of cargo, and were towed by horses, hence the term towpath. You will see that a lot of railways follow the lines of the canals, as when the steam engines came along, they took a lot of trade from the canals as they were a lot faster. So the canals were the highways of their time, created well over 200 years ago. We touch on this occasionally in our videos, we’ll try and put a bit more historical mentions in. Thanks Dale xx

Hi both, hope you're both fully recovered, you did sound poorly. We passed Robbie at the top lock at Stoke Bruine. How far down are you going on the GU ? I've been down to Milton Keynes to meet my son & started to head back north now so hopefully I'll keep my eye open for. ...Wellie Mike. nb Sarah Kay.
Hi Michael, we only went as far as Gayton junction, as we popped down there to see friends. We’re currently just about to cruise to Weedon Bec, hoping to get a Chinese/Chippy for tonight lol! Then we’ll be moving to Whilton for a day or so, before going on to Braunston hoping to go to the Historic Boat Rally at the end of the month. After that, no fixed plans, but will be going Birmingham way and then heading north! Hopefully our paths will cross at some point, see you soon! Thanks Michael! xx
Didn't try the Chinese but a nice café in the village & the Royal Ordnance was worth a visit. Stayed a few days around Bugbrooke & Nether Heyford, nice butchers there. I will look out for you. Mike.

Hi Howard, our boat is a G J Reeves Hull and the fit out was by Crown Boats and she is 2004. Thank you Howard! xx
