My auntie owned a laundromat for like 15 years? And she had the most brutal routine, but she kept the shop in tip top shape. Every night when she closed, she washed out all of the machines and sanitized them. Swept, mopped, made sure all the change machines had change. Topped up the vending machines. Hearing about those abused washing machines made me think of her. I think she would have loved to have vanlife people popping in and using her shop.
Its taken me about two weeks to watch all your videos so far, I cried when you announced Alan had retired. I love your outlook on life, inspiration and positivity. I am a fan and looking forward to all your future videos. Love from Australia.
Don't you worry about us followers thinking anything of your changes of hearts or wanting different ways of enjoying your lives. I'm now 73 years old, but I've traveled all my life. I had school buses, highway coaches, airplanes and boats, and I would try space travel if I was given the chance, even at this age!! Go live your lives with joy, peace and fun together, you won't be able to do it later! I will follow you's because it's your spirits I like and identify with, not your boats. Keep making music Benny, it's a God given talent, I have all of that too including guitars and amps. But this us about you, not me! So Cheers, God bless and you have my best regards. Great news! Rambler is ideal because you've made it to suit your needs. A full size narrow boat is just a result of most old, old canal boats being that long to carry cargo. The actual living section was tiny and smaller than Rambler, so ....have fun!
That cat was wonderful... the next best thing to actually having a pet cat is being visited by a cat that enjoys your company. That cat obviously knew a good thing when she saw it. You also forgot to mention Base Van has their own TH-cam channel.

It’s your life do as you want! Enjoy your trip, Southern Spain is still warm, we are heading for the Mar Menor on Dec 3rd and the weather forecast is for 20+in the day, dropping to single figures overnight. We have spent a lot of winters there and there may be wet times but then it warms up again and we were eating Christmas dinner outside in 2019! X

A Green Goddess. Many many years ago when I joined the Fire Service as a part time Fireman, we had a Green Goddess at our Fire Station, It was part of the AFS (Auxiliary Fire Service) which had been disbanded just before I joined. Our main pump was a Dennis, we also had a Landover and a trailer pump. Ahhh Fond Memories.
You may already know this but the AYLESBURY CANAL Society used to publish a free Laundrette booklet listing all laundrettes on the entire canal system. You may wish to get one as we found it very useful when we had our canal boat for 17 years. .
Unfurl your ELECTRIC lead before plugging it in. If it has any nicks in it, or somebody has driven over it on a site, there might be damage to the outer casing of the cable....You are toast!! You also NEED a 20amp breaker fitted in circuit close to the socket block.
Google says the fire engine is a 1999 Pinzgauer Steyr Puch, 6 Wheel Drive. There's a whole world of East European retro wonderfulness - dunno how much has been bought over here by the traveller community ...actually it looks like it may have been made under licence ...in Guildford 🤔 I love cats too, I had a visiting black one on my lap earlier 😊 Going south sounds sensible.

Good choice for not using the wasmachine. I used 1 like that; it looked fine but everything smelled like horse and it wouldn't come out either so I had to threw it away. The camping looked very nice, cute cat. Great you are on the way to Spain/Portugal for winter, I hope you have fun🥰🥰🥰🥰

I think you have done the right thing keeping Rambler you use need to adapt the bed so it’s comfortable enough for the two of you . Enjoy your travels ! The other one was hard work and a big responsibility.

As a former horse owner I can say that horse owners generally do NOT behave like this - we know you are meant to send the rugs to specialist rug washing companies. There’s always someone to be the bad apple and give everyone a bad name!
Thinking about the bigger vans means higher gas/diesel litres/km. One nomad from Alaska has an American ambulance (Chevrolet I believe) and only gets 5-6 miles/gallon, which is atrocious if one is doing long distance travelling. However, I can see the many advantages of an ambulance. Also, I think once you have customized Rambler, i.e., the bed space, it will suit very well, especially when the weather is warmer and you spend more time outside. Happy trails!🥰✝️🇨🇦

We've literally just got a camper and have booked the ferry to Santander next year. We were also debating whether to go to Portugal and what route to take! We'll be watching eagerly to see you both paving the way!
I say buy a submarine. Big. Free mooring at the bottom of a lake or sea. Save on ferry crossings to Europe. Good acoustics. Impress friends. Get the one used in Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. It has an organ and a library.
I am so excited about Spain and Portugal! I want to visit one day and Portugal has been on my list since I saw an imagine of Poto. Can’t wait to see your adventures.

I recall seeing a "NO HORSE BLANKETS" sign at a laundrymat. It has turned me off them. I've never seen an outdoor laundrymat here in Canada.
