so I spent an age trawling through you vids from the beginning of the year on Friday afternoon to find out who and where these guys were - and now its right there! have already found the van of our dreams on their site and hope to be putting the £100 holding fee down tomorrow. thanks for your input and recommendation
absolutely loving your music Benny....wow brings back memories of yesteryear 🙏⭐ and Emily you had me giggling out loud crawling along that Matlock path and then a random stranger walks past 🤭🤭😂😂😝.....and the garlic bread out the hatch was hilarious too 🤣 thanks for the giggles you both 😁 🙏 I'm on a boat but loving the van option too....remembering years ago.... nice one you both 🙏
Look guys, I am 75 years old from across the pond. I say do what you like doing as long as you can. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks. Life is too short to waste any of it. Best of luck to you both. I love your channel!
Don't you worry about us followers thinking anything of your changes of hearts or wanting different ways of enjoying your lives. I'm now 73 years old, but I've traveled all my life. I had school buses, highway coaches, airplanes and boats, and I would try space travel if I was given the chance, even at this age!! Go live your lives with joy, peace and fun together, you won't be able to do it later! I will follow you's because it's your spirits I like and identify with, not your boats. Keep making music Benny, it's a God given talent, I have all of that too including guitars and amps. But this us about you, not me! So Cheers, God bless and you have my best regards. I'm with you no matter what you do!
My auntie owned a laundromat for like 15 years? And she had the most brutal routine, but she kept the shop in tip top shape. Every night when she closed, she washed out all of the machines and sanitized them. Swept, mopped, made sure all the change machines had change. Topped up the vending machines. Hearing about those abused washing machines made me think of her. I think she would have loved to have vanlife people popping in and using her shop.
Looking forward to another Portugal trip..! I think the Portugal episode on the ferry was my favorite episode you guys ever did. Since it was a spur of the moment, ill planned trip everything went wrong, which made for some really funny stuff. Oh and who could forget sea sick Emily, I hated to laugh at your misery but man that made for some really funny content. Any new subs that have not seen that episode should watch it, its really good.
That kitty is now your best friend. I love the way cats just make themselves so at home. Im glad stumbled across this channel. Thinking about actually making some content myselt and this is just like feel good stuff. Something I think people forget is that they do not have an idea of your finances. Selling the boat was your decision and from what you say, its the right one. Cant wait to see more.
Before I watch anymore, I just want to say what a wonderful pair you both are!! Myself and my partner constantly feel really inspired by your sparkly, glass half full mentality. And it's really been inspiring us to make some pretty epic life changes too. Keep being you! 🤙🏼🌷💘
Its taken me about two weeks to watch all your videos so far, I cried when you announced Alan had retired. I love your outlook on life, inspiration and positivity. I am a fan and looking forward to all your future videos. Love from Australia.
Why not check out the Isle of Wight? Mild climate, fewer crowds, plenty of caravan sites, stunning walks that go on forever, beautiful seaside etc. A hidden gem so many Brits miss out on.
That cat was wonderful... the next best thing to actually having a pet cat is being visited by a cat that enjoys your company. That cat obviously knew a good thing when she saw it. You also forgot to mention Base Van has their own TH-cam channel.
It’s your life do as you want! Enjoy your trip, Southern Spain is still warm, we are heading for the Mar Menor on Dec 3rd and the weather forecast is for 20+in the day, dropping to single figures overnight. We have spent a lot of winters there and there may be wet times but then it warms up again and we were eating Christmas dinner outside in 2019! X
Met the guys who bought your boat yesterday and again today. Really nice couple and interesting story about the boat name too. Been trying to persuade them to go full time. M friend had an old Renault ambulance and was wondering how you guys sleep widthways in it. I lived in a transit minibus i converted , and even had a woodburner and a cat, called Lady Mollington who became captain mollington. At only 5'2" i struggled to sleep widthways in my tranist which is considerably wider than Renault. Glad you got an ambulance from Wale's, although i do wonder how the clutch coped with all those hills and weight. I used to work for the emergency ambulance in Manchester so know the renault masters well. The engines can take a real hammering and you cant handbreak turn them, not even in the snow (ive tried). Glad you didnt get one of those vehicles from Manchester fleet. Went through the Bridgewater the other month and it was so good to see the nicer side of the place. Wish id kept the van, as using public transport is a nightmare when trying to get to see my daughters. Launderettes are pot luck. All my bed sheets got covered in oil once as the guy before me had washed all his oily work clothes. I now have a twin tub and its a game changer. Enjoy the warmth in Europe.
I’ve only just subscribed to your channel, and after watching 2 videos, I have to say, you have to be the most humble and easy going people I’ve met / seen on TH-cam. I love the fact, that you both have the freedom and get up and go, to enjoy your lives together…….i truly wish you the best, stay safe, and happy travels guys 👍👍……keep the vids coming👍👍
67 years old from over in Florida, you guys are doing exactly the right thing. When I was about your age, my wife and I went out west for four months in a VWJetta no plan and camped at most of the US national parks, absolutely the best time ever! Keep on trucking’ on.
I am so happy to hear that you still feel you sold the right boat. Loved the campsite you stayed at. How thoughtful of them to provide such nice facilities.
Hey Cute Girl and Hey Cute Boy.....you are so much fun! Thanks for sharing your adventures with all the rest of us out here in the ether.....and love the music, Benny. Brilliant! Cheers from Vancouver Island , British Columbia
Great news! Rambler is ideal because you've made it to suit your needs. A full size narrow boat is just a result of most old, old canal boats being that long to carry cargo. The actual living section was tiny and smaller than Rambler, so ....have fun!
You two are such lovely sweet young kids. I could watch your videos for hours. I think any choice you make is fabulous for your life goals. You’re such a delightful pair. Xxx
Some nice vans there 👌 ...Cornwall is Great this time of year...Holiday Makers gone....just the weather really...but Tintagel is a must...Campervan friendly,...Praa Sands...Great and a favourite stop has to be Roskillys...comes with lots of lovely animals...Perfect ice-cream...and superb food...We live close to the Eden Project...oh before I forget..Brittania Inn ,down the rd...excellent for vans...right next to Cornish Market World...opens on Weds and weekends...Nos Dha from Cornwall
Hi you guys,I have been following your adventures for the last two years,hi admire the way you work so hard, I have travelled all my life, now live in Thailand have done for many years, keep the good work up, have a great time what ever you do, stay safe keep smiling,🥰👍
Great video recognised that you went past the outskirts of Ashborne we stayed not far from there in our touring caravan a couple of years ago. Looking forward to seeing your next adventures in Cornwall
Emily i had a surprise when you looked at the Steyr Puch i have one but mine is a1960's motor cycle. I enjoy your vlogs always some thing different neat cats gentle horse's. You two have fun and keep doing the odd things in life just keep putting out your vlogs i am an avid fan and love to see what you get up to each week, stay safe. Ed 40 S of Vegas
Always a great clip. It's your journey not ours. I truly enjoy riding along with you two. I look forward to seeing you again on your journey. Hope to see you soon. Cheers
The love you have for each other is there in your eyes, your smiles and the way you treat each other, it is beautiful to watch. Keep being free together and do your own thing, never worry about what anyone else thinks, and have fun, thats what life should always be about....I love following your adventures...
You made your choices and I fully understand selling the big boat. That VAN -place is heaven! When I was looking here around for a bigger vehicle, the last time there were hardly any available and very pricy. Seems to change. I personal prefere empty boxes to build what I like.... But purple would be lovely!
Good choice for not using the wasmachine. I used 1 like that; it looked fine but everything smelled like horse and it wouldn't come out either so I had to threw it away. The camping looked very nice, cute cat. Great you are on the way to Spain/Portugal for winter, I hope you have fun🥰🥰🥰🥰
I really enjoyed the video as always. It was nice to see all the different vans,/ lorry. Enjoy your time in Cornwall and I live in Cornwall a place called Falmouth. 😊😊
Good for you both. You’ve made a good decision. Do the things you want to do while you can. And yes, cats are in charge. That’s what my cat, Izzy, is always trying to tell me 😆.
I've loved you both since I fell down the rabbit hole and found you ❤❤ It was sooo funny Emily you calling that tank of a fire truck sweet 😂 Carry on being yourselves 🤗😘🤗😘
Enjoying your videos! I'm much older and more conventional than you, but have a real soft spot for narrowboats and vans :-) A word of advice - always plug the electric cable into the van first, then into the mains (and disconnect in the opposite order) - that way you're never left wandering around a wet field in the rain with a live cable end in your hand. Take care :-)
We had a touring caravan & we loved it compact, just what you need made us value important things in life , Spain during winter was lovely and sunny, didn’t need a coat till night which did go cold and a few rainy days but Xmas day on beach with Salvation Army band & ppl selling hot food and drink with a paddle
Thanks for the video guys, another great one. May well look up basevan in the future, they seem excellent. We always use an inside launderette as they stipulate ‘no horse rugs’ looking forward to your winter adventures. Take care.
Great video, love your lifestyle, enjoy. Can’t wait to see where you end up in Portugal as we were going to go to an open all year site but had to make last minute changes.
We've literally just got a camper and have booked the ferry to Santander next year. We were also debating whether to go to Portugal and what route to take! We'll be watching eagerly to see you both paving the way!
You always make things work for you, and that's what matters! That campsite looked lovely....and the wee cat made him or herself really at home with you!....I almost feel your van or Rambler might be ready for a furry friend...??( And that's no disrespect to Alan, as it just wasn't the place for her to be at her time of life. Enjoy your travels....here's to more pastries and interesting paths!😊
Hello There Ben Emily and Alan and your new lodger LOL,x Great video , WOW nice to see all those van , yes so many to chose from , well i think you have done the rite thing with your Boat , just what i would do , nice looking campsite you stayed at , And your off to Cornwall ,That sounds exciting , well All looking Good ,loved it All , Thanks for sharing and keep up your Great work , Take care All , xx🌞🌅👍👍♥
❤ 😊❤😮 Thanks for sharing your wonderful new journey. Free Spirits are priceless. Keep your hearts above those who don't understand. Lots of ❤ from Arizona USA. ❤
I am so excited about Spain and Portugal! I want to visit one day and Portugal has been on my list since I saw an imagine of Poto. Can’t wait to see your adventures.
Well as you can guess I loved the bigger vehicles at base van. I've often wondered how one could fit out a green goddess. The police truck was ace.. but I'd want to carpet the walls... Get a bus!! Even a sprinter if there's no Varios. A vario if possible.. then you can run on veg oil when diesel dries up..... Looking forward to seeing you in Spain. Love, Yo'Papa. Xx
good news about your trip to Spain ,here in catalunya its currently 21 c and forecast to have springlike weather from tomorrow, crazy ,meanwhile its snowing on the dorset coast. all the best jon
Google says the fire engine is a 1999 Pinzgauer Steyr Puch, 6 Wheel Drive. There's a whole world of East European retro wonderfulness - dunno how much has been bought over here by the traveller community ...actually it looks like it may have been made under licence ...in Guildford 🤔 I love cats too, I had a visiting black one on my lap earlier 😊 Going south sounds sensible.
Good explanation, I think that'll sort out a lot of comments. From an outside point of view, it DOES look like you simply need more space, but you do you - you know better than anyone. I did check out basevan, damn there are some nice ones on there! Enjoy Portugal, it's lovely and cheap, with plenty to do and see, and yes, you will avoid the worst of the UK winter weather (and live better there)
Enjoyed having a peek at some of those vans. Not your run of the mill Mercedes Sprinter! Only just started watching your videos after being subscribed for a while. Your channel is a welcome breath of fresh air, in particular as I depart from 'normal life' ever more and increasingly see it as a cunning trap (or a ton of crap? 🤔)

Life is a adventure so slow down an take it easy. Where not living for anyone but are selfs. Well done ben an Emily to your next adventure.
Good tip! Thanks for watching 🤗
This is great I’m excited for you!
Always enjoy your video's ,we did it once with 2 kids, had a view to my kitchen sink ,great ,

You always make things work for you, and that's what matters!
Xx
P.s. Benny is looking more and more like Cat Stevens.

Google says the fire engine is a 1999 Pinzgauer Steyr Puch, 6 Wheel Drive. There's a whole world of East European retro wonderfulness - dunno how much has been bought over here by the traveller community ...actually it looks like it may have been made under licence ...in Guildford 🤔
I love cats too, I had a visiting black one on my lap earlier 😊
Going south sounds sensible.
I want that van behind you. That’s a cool looking van.
