Thanks Dr Pitre. Like many, for me, the description of Mary putting The Baby Jesus in the manger stands out as most beautiful to picture.
Two other Bible translations (which use more simpler language and therefore don't say 'swaddling cloths' put it very nicely too): CEB Bible '......wrapped him snugly, and laid him in a manger.' And the CEV Bible '......She dressed him in baby clothes and laid him on a bed of hay.'
The CEV sounds very modern, but I love 'wrapped Him snugly.'

Dr. Pitre, again thank you for a great explanation! One question, however, was the Christ not born in a Sukkah, the typical temporary housing during Sukkot, the Feast of the Tabernacles? (After all, we are quite sure that He was not born on 24/December, but rather at a different time, most probably during this Feast. Wat is your opinion here?

I have learnt from a jewish friend that in the mishnah there is a citation that King David determined that from Bethlehem ( and not from another city) would come most of the lambs for the ritual sacrifice in the Temple and as these animals should be physically perfect the pastors would wrap them during the night to protect from any possible injury

Obviously, as such, the miracles He commanded knew no delays, except the purposed one, in which the healed blind man had to wash his eyes in water first.
How do you think this reflects on the proposition of Jonathan Sarfati about Joshua's long day?
He said, so that rotation of Earth stopping should not cause acute discomfort, perhaps deadly accidents, the 1000 mph slowed down over a few minutes. (He is counting rotation speed at Equator, even if the parallel of Ayalon is obviously smaller than the Equator, and the speed somewhat slower - obviously converting to actuel speed as Heliocentrism proposes at parallel of Ayalon would have taken a less quick calculation).

    Romans 5:15-20
But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God's ( Jehovah's ) grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! Again the gift of God is not like the result of the one man's sin: The judgement followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteous reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ. Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness, was justification that brings life ( heaven ) for all men. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man ( Jacob ) the many will be made righteous. The law was added so that the trespass might increase. BUT WHERE SIN INCREASED, GRACE INCREASED ALL THE MORE!
( Life in heaven, for no one has truly lived until they are in heaven )
Isaiah ( Prophet for the last days ) in the Great Isaiah Scroll:
    29:22
Not now shall Jacob be ashamed and his face shall not grow pale.
    40:12
for she received from the hand of YHWH two handfuls ( Jesus and Jacob ) for all her sins.
    Deuteronomy 33:27
The eternal God ( Jehovah ) is a dwelling place. And underneath are the everlasting arms ( Jesus and Jacob )
    John 4:24
God ( Jehovah ) is Spirit...
( And he can rest that Spirit on any man he chooses )
    Isaiah 43:11-12
I,I am YHWH and beside me there is no savior. I have told ( Jehovah ) and have saved ( Jesus ) and I have declared ( Jacob )
    Isaiah 48:12
Listen to this, Jacob, and Israel my called. I am He ( Jehovah ) I am the first ( Jesus ) even I am the last ( Jacob )
    1Timothy 2:5-6
For there is one God ( Jehovah ) and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men - the testimony given in its proper time!
    Isaiah 45:5
I am YHWH and there is no one else and beside me there is no God...
    Matthew 22:31

      41:8
But you, Israel are my servant. Jacob I have chosen you the seed of Abraham my friend.
      41:9
      I have chosen you...
      41:13
Because I YHWH your God will hold your right hand...
      41:15
Behold, I will put you as a new sharp threshing tool...
      41:27
and to Jerusalem I will give one who brings good tidings.
      41:28
And I looked and there was no man among them ( Israel ) and there was no counselor; and I asked of them and they returned not a word.
      41:29
Behold, they are nothing and worthless, their works are wind...
      42:1
Behold my servant ( Jacob ) whom I uphold, my chosen, my soul delights. I put my Spirit upon him..
( Jacob a Hebrew man final servant of Jehovah )
Israel and Jacob are servants of Jehovah. Israel has always disobeyed God.
      Isaiah 1:3-4
Israel does not know and my people do not consider. Woe sinning nation! A people burden with faults, a seed of evil ones perverted sons. They have abandoned YHWH, they have spurned the Holy One of Israel...
      Isaiah 40:12

The actual birth date of Christ is Sept 11, 3 BC, based on the time of year - shepherds & sheep grazing + Bethlehem star.
Jupiter is called king of the king planets (as per Greek mythology due to its size).
Jupiter (king of king planets) aligned with the star Regulus (called little king).
This took place in the constellation called Leo (constellation of the King).
Simultaneously - Virgo was in the Sky.
Sun was passing thru Virgo with the Moon under Virgo
(Woman clothed with the Sun, with the moon under her feet - Book of Revelation).
On the Hebrew calender, this took place on Tisherei 1 ( Rosh Hashanah). This is called Feast of Trumpets - The day the King is to be declared.
The entire planets + stars in the universe aligned itself for the birth of Jesus.
Johnathan Cahn and Joe amaral have excellent videos showing this. Joe amaral uses software to show alignment of the stars to show these dates. Jesus was born in Sept 11, 3 BC.
Stellarium is a software project that allows people to use their home computer as a virtual planetarium. It calculates the positions of the Sun and Moon, planets and stars, and draws how the sky would look to an observer depending on their location and the time

      Rav9999,
Do a weather search for Jerusalem, Israel. 10 day forecast, the low temperature is 40 and the highs reach 63. Today, December 23, they reach 51 degrees by 10 a.m.
      Headlines 2019:
"Jerusalem Sees First Snow in Four Years as Winter Storm Lashes Israel"
Pascal lambs during the Second Temple period numbered at 600,000. "King Agrippa once wished to take a census of the hosts of Israel. He said to the high priest, “Cast your eyes on the Passover offerings.” He took a kidney from each, and 600,000 pairs of kidneys were found there...."
March/April Pascal lambs in December are 8 months old.
Adding in the female ewes, female lambs, and the number of sheep around Jerusalem total past 1,200,000.
The Bethlehem Star (Rick Larson) documentary also used NASA's planetary motion program and found that December 25, was the date the Wise men found Christ the King at Bethlehem.
See also the Abijah division's month of Temple service dating John the Baptist's conception (Dr. Taylor Marshall has a dicussion on TH-cam).
      From another study:
"Based on the division of Jehoiarib having been on duty during the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE, it is possible to establish the weeks in which the division of Abijah served during the time of Zacharias.
When Zacharias burned incense the "whole multitude" were outside in prayer. It is expected that such a multitude would only be present at one of the three required feasts.
In 6 BCE the Feast of Tabernacles overlapped the regular serving of the division of Abijah.
It would be at this time that the angel Gabriel appeared to Zacharias. If Elizabeth became pregnant with John the Baptist shortly after Zacharias returned home, then John was conceived about October 10, 6 BCE.
The Annunciation of the conception of Jesus followed about five and a half months later, or about March 25, 5 BCE. Jesus was then born nine month later, about December 25, 5 BCE."

    Christ was NOT BORN.
He is an invention of the people who invented the religion that bears his name.
There is NOT ONE SINGLE IOTA OF EVIDENCE THAT JC EVER EXISTED.
What you DO have is mountains of ASSERTIONS THAT IF YOU BELIEVE ENOUGH THEN HE WILL EXIST FOR YOU.
    But that is it.
Substitute SANTA CLAUS, THE TOOTH FAIRY, THE EASTER BUNNY for Jesus Christ and you have yet another FAIRY TALE AND SUPERSTITION.
    PROVE ME WRONG.
When is JC returning, why do we NOT KNOW, why all the mystery.
The answer is SIMPLE, IT IS A CON.
And as with ANY CON GAME the CON ARTIST cannot reveal the TRUTH.
WHICH IS THAT THE ENTIRE STORY OF JC IS JUST FICTION, designed to scare the pants off the WEAK and the VULNERABLE and the GULLIBLE.
Note that NOT ONE SINGLE PROPHECY FROM THE BIBLE HAS EVER COME TRUE.
Oh there is plenty of SPECULATION which always come AFTER THE PROPHECY HAS BEEN DEEMED TO HAVE BEEN FULFILLED.
However there is NOT ONE SINGLE PROPHECY THAT SAYS “ One January the first of 2020, Jesus Christ will arrive at midday E. Time with his full retinue of angels”. Set your watches and see him come.
Oh NO THAT WOULD BE A TEST OF TRUTH.
Now no one has EVER accused Christianity of telling the TRUTH.
In fact TRUTH is the poison pill of all religions, it is something that they STUDIOUSLY AVOID.

There are a great deal of literature outside of the Bible mentioning Jesus.
Also see how perfectly Jesus fulfils the prophecies in the Old Testament. The book of Isaiah prophesies the Virgin Birth and his atoning suffering and death. The Book of Micah predicts His birth in Bethlehem. Psalm 22 prophecies the Crucifixion.

None of that LITERATURE has ANY EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT IT.
All that literature is, is CLAIMS, THERE IS NO EVIDENCE, LET ME SAY THAT AGAIN, THEFE IS NO EVIDENCE.
Your other PROBLEM is this, there is NO EVIDENCE that even if JC HAD EXISTED he was the SON OF A GOD.
History is FULL OF CLAIMS about people and events, but NO EVIDENCE.
The ONLY source of information about JC are the GOSPELS.
Yet the AUTHORS OF THE GOSPELS ARE UNKNOWN.
Let me say that again, NO ONE KNOWS WHO WROTE THE GOSPELS.
Even the reason for JCs birth in Bethlehem, the CENSUS, has not one iota of evidence.
The events in the gospels HAVE NO EVIDENCE, for instance the CLAIM that JC appeared to 500 people after he rose from the dead.
A CLAIM WITH NO EVIDENCE, who counted the 500 people, who were those 500 people, there is no TRACE OF ANY 500 people who saw the risen JC.
The National Enquirer has more EVIDENCE than the fairy tales in the Gospels.
The TRUTH is that JC probably BEVER EXISTED and even if he did there is ZERO EVIDENCE THAT HE WAS THE SON OF A GOD.
