As the one whose brainchild this change was, I'm curious to hear what you expected? Or did Ava say something on the video and if so, do you have a timestamp?
I think it's this part from the patch notes causing the confusion here: "Many enemies lost the leading "ADVENT", e.g. ADVENT Heavy Gunner changed to Heavy Gunner"
I saw Iron Curtain on a few XCOM row rolls, could see that being a fun pickup given it's a -8 mobility debuff now that doesn't need to hit to apply it.
Just started redownloading the game + mod, i didnt even know they were doing such a massive patch for the mod especially since how long its been since the last one.
I've been liking all the buffed classes. if you rush a SPARK, they are very good until mutons start showing up. they are still OK after that, but taking 12 damage from a muton shot that activated during yellow alert will make you question the power of the SPARK. Specalist's changes are very very nice though, but field surgen vs trojan is painful.
@@bobothegoat Or enable being able to buy previous traits in your classes with the advanced settings to offset getting bad XCOm lines and grab field surgen then xD. Really though, while it sucks, I feel like you still gotta pick it up. Long War is like, 5-10x faster than vanilla in pacing but has vanilla wounds or worse making you lose really fast if wounds stack up. And with GRazing Strikes being a permanent dark event, you will take wounds. They'd have to remove it entirely and reduce wound timers to really fix the problem.
Oh basic question about Long War, when should you liberate your first region? When you can, or should you wait for advent strength to build up while sitting on the HQ mission a bit to wipe that strength out?
Generally I'd say as soon as you can, under one condition: you will need to have ideally 2 regions AFTER the liberation in which you can still run regular missions (1 can also work). So you don't want to liberate too soon if that stops you from being able to run missions, but the sooner you get the steady income the better.
Templar XCOM decks are probably my least favorite of the redone ones, simply because of a lack of good choices, since not having a gun as a primary weapon rules out a lot of the "shooty" perks that other classes have as filler, not to mention finding stuff that is reasonable for each cost level since many of the defensive perks are worth more on Templar than they are on other classes. One other correction, if you have no sci and no engi, the VIP mission is guaranteed to be an engi, not random between engi/sci.
Ava tried one in 1.1 but he always prefer DFA even on basic missions. Snapshot sniper need high movility to compesate the negative aim penalty of Snapshot and to flank enemies just ouside of vision range
I liked them when I tried them, but I think they are not really filling a unique role that you couldn't fill with a Gunner or Ranger, and their actual sniping is just weaker than a dedicated DFA.
I like the part where you explain the thinking behind builds, helps a lot.💪🏽
Damn it, got me starting a new XCOM 2 Lwotc campaign with this playthrough, thanks a lot haha
I'm excited to see the new patch. Always a pleasure to see you play. :)
Harbin! My home city! Didn't even know it existed in Xcom😂
My character, let's go 🎉🎉
And the wifes, fully locked in for this campaign!

Can't wait to see these soldiers in action soon
Let's goooo more LWOTC! So hyped
Good to know the ADVENT is still in their names for you too. I thought I might have had a mod issue, but it's the same for me too.

@@DerAva it's mainly higher tier enemies so base tier have ADVENT still but the higher tier ones don't.

Best grenadier ever, check the shellshocked XCOM perk, its a grenade buff
Also disabling shot on shotty shinobi is interesting.
a new LWOTC run - hype
Slugshot got a ton of buff and is strong againt early drones
Long war 2 1.2 and Xenonauts 2 5.0 released on almost the same time, christmas came early

Nice job with Gatecrasher--especially after the entire map activated at once! kk

I'll miss field surgeon, but I will never take it again probably lol

Love base game LWOTC
Feels good to be back in the saddle friendds !
Wasn't there something in the patch notes about requiring the Shen's gift DLC in order to make the new Sparks work?
You need to have the DLC installed, correct, but it's not required to enable the DLC mission.
Do you have a list of recommended QoL mods for LWOTC 1.2? I'm itching to play it again!
This is a very good collection, although I'm personally not using all of these: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2367591059
Hi, is there somewhere I can look at the list of your mods in the game?

So no AP grenades in the basic LWOTC modpack?
That is correct, just good old regular grenades at best.
When resistance personnel are switching jobs from recruit to intel job, do they still take 24h before they start doing mission finding again?
I'm never 100% sur eon that, I thought it was on the next "tick", so at most 8 hours or so.
Whats your take on snapshot sharpshooters? Just watched Tornis and he seems to prefer them

I've tried them, they are ok. They need even higher aim than DFA tbh.

@@DerAva They are basically the poor man's reaper tbh.
@@DerAva well i saw it different
I can't stand the random promotions! I couldn't play without the Choose My Class mod. Gives you a little bit more control without being too cheaty.
Why u dont take cammander choice?); i hate this ranfom game making bad specialists-_-
This!
CC for good specialists and high mobility Rangers.
Oh no "IKE" see Trouble (yeah thats my Humor)
