7:03 do gears nahi... Ek gear hota hai aur dusra lever is to engage and operate 4x4!.. High end SUVs like Range Rover have electronic knobs that operate the system.. Mahindra has stuck with old school design to impart feel.. Jo log yeh sawaal poochte hai yeh wahi log hai jo Suzuki Ignis ko SUV bolte hai 😂
A proper 4x4 will have a low range which helps in tackling off road conditions better.. You can use SUVs like gypsy and that in low range on highway as it will hurt them.. The modern day crossovers which come with AWD basically have functions which act more like weather protection by enhancing the grip.. When needed they transfer power from front to rear or vice versa(like in Hyundai Tucson AWd).. It is the thorough 4x4 mechanism that make SUVs like Thar, Gurkha, Gypsy become mountain goats.

Thar is for off-road only. That's the truth. Heavy vibration and very small car to sit inside except the front seats.its not even a 5 seater. Only 2 adults and 2 children can sit in it.

Go and watch motor octane honda city vs hyundai creta. An SUV doesn't necessarily needs a 4X4 unless it has to do Offroads and adventures. Today's SUVs like seltos and creta are not offroad capable because they don't have all wheel drive because for the price point fir which they are offered. Who does Offroads in daily life situations. Yes, they can do little of it. If you want a true SUV with offroad capabilities, go with thar, fortuner, endeavour, etc.
For real life we need crossovers! Not cool car! I bet crossover can go in 90% of Indian roads.

Today 15th August afternoon onwards I have been watching so many Thar 2020 reviews and it's you only who genuinely told about its on-road ride quality. May be Mahindra tried it to be smooth on road. Overall I loved the all-new 2020 Thar. ❤
Definitely it's a big improvement over the old Thar, but keeping in mind that 90% people don't go off road which the Thar is made for... the price tag would decide the future of it's sales ....since if the leaked price is correct it's gonna be between 10 to 14 lakh ex showroom and keeping in mind the creature comfort it offers that's quite high... compared to it's competition....await people's comment.

I am suprised that the car even though being tested in some grueling conditions has got few areas to be re-visited like the
1. Light steering wheel
2. Brakes
3. Entry and Exit in second row in a hard top
4. Rear brake light (top) positioning
5. Ride quality in a life style product with regards to stability
The company should start offering test drives to explore about the product functioning by the end user.
The end user / customer driving the product and testing it's credentials will give more insight to the company for further betterment

Question 5> Can it start the vehicle moving from zero at 3rd gear, under normal drive?

There are no luxury things in thar so price could be low. If it goes more than 13 lakhs then they will fail lot.
Because there are several more option with those category people may choose creta , harrier or Scorpio. So the price range must be 9 -12 lakhs
If they go more than 13 lakhs this is the biggest disadvantage for them. Because as we know it's low space, no 4 door option, not much interior.
If they keep more than 13 lakhs my another option will be Tata hbx
