  • After a long day of working on e-bikes as a mechanic, I wanted to highlight some of the reasons why Serial1 bikes are better than most. During video editing, there were a few small sections lost in the transitions but sent this content out anyway because it's unscripted and real opinion after working on problem bikes for many frustrating hours, Don't buy unbranded and inexpensive e-bikes if you don't want problems

I wish I lived in Mississippi and could benefit from having your bike shop near because this was one of the most honest play your cards on the table and your life's work and passion for all to see, The Good The bad and The ugly
------in fact the first five or so minutes of the expos of what you're capable of and what you would turn down and the simplifying of some of the more complicated processes and hardware and business practices in terms of e-bike manufacturers was so well translated into layman's terms that I can't see even a 65-year-old just retired Grandpa not grasping fully...... so what I was going to say was the first 5 minutes or so honest and clear that if you compare them to an introduction or a advertisement like alleged ebike review that seems to have more bells and whistles then the actual product that they're supposed to be showing off and this is the first time I've seen any of your videos and I didn't know who you were up until tonight, so the high praise is sincere and I believe that this is kind of a schooling or how to for content creators who are also either e-bike reviewers or bike shop owners who want to get into the TH-cam or tic tac content creation world. I really do you believe this is a template or blueprint for how it should be done and how honest you should really be because let's face it you're going to find out sooner or later so best that you lay your cards on the table now so that there are no big surprises later and I come from Long Island where in construction I call New York the shortcut capital of the world because it's very hectic and everybody wants to beat Rush hour which alone can drive anybody mad in fact the idea of avoiding spending three hours in your car just in the afternoon on the way home, or say a total of 4 hours to 5 hours between the morning and afternoon commute I mean you can do the math that's adding up to a full 20 to 24 hours a full day of you're weak spent in your car frustrated and probably cursing somebody who cut you off or is driving to slowly or just in general because you're mad at yourself for continuing living on Long Island or the five boroughs, and it should be said that when I was in the union and worked in Manhattan and queens in the Bronx luckily Long Island does have an excellent railroad transportation system and the subway is not too bad either or opiate antiquated and crumbling and as good as the Long Island railroad is and comprehensive and its reach to everywhere in Long Island and it's punctuality as well you get what you pay for because it's not cheap... but if time is money like I always say then that cuts the cost and makes it well worth it because I can go from the beach in Long Beach and the boardwalk probably my favorite place on Long Island and one of the main reasons that I've actually stayed here but from there to Manhattan in 40 minutes via LIRR, so that cuts down on the commuting time and give you a lot of Peace of mind which could be considered priceless, so they're the one way too but the community but if you're going to take your car to and from work on Long Island you will over time drive yourself meds and your blood pressure will go up and in general when you start realizing how much time you spend in your car your innate intrinsic frustration and anxiety mostly directed at yourself but projected outward at the world will begin to boil and it's not pretty not to mention that the two counties police departments don't have your normal common work to have to worry about like shootouts and armed robberies etc I mean there's very little and there's a massive workforce of them per capita and they are the two counties two of the highest paid counties for police departments in the country and their main job usually is handing out driving tickets speeding tickets stop sign and in general they don't mind pulling people over for no reason whatsoever and then coming up with the reason while there running your plates and when you ask before I give you my license and you run my plates and my name can I ask what I did wrong and then they'll say notice that you're inspection is overdue and say well because you're inspection is overdue(which they could not have noticed from a distance especially in the moving vehicle and definitely could not have seen the timing numbers on the inspection to revive 4-in sticker in your windshield but that's a whole other story, suffice it to say one of the reasons they are the highest paid police departments in the country is because they spend the majority of their time raising revenue on the backs of the middle class, if anyone who has ever lived here or lives here now disagrees then you must work for the police department or a sister or cousin agency becaus the proof is plain as day and this is the five boroughs in Manhattan but it basically applies the same to Nassau county & Suffolk county, when Michael Bloomberg took over as mayor in New York City one of his first actions was to hire some 1, 000 new ticket delivering agents in the city streets allegedly to enforce the rules of parking and street sweeping etc which if you've ever lived in Manhattan you know that those rules are impossible to follow and there's more than a dozen memes showing a pole with five or six signs on it that all contradict each other regarding the parking rules depending on the day the hour and what you had for lunch and whether yor your car was made in the millennial era or weather it still runs on fossil fuels and therefore you're in no danger of it driving you of its own accord off a cliff or into a train crossing,..while the train is passing in front(vid on tube showing true story), and manual override or over brake or the guy woulda run straight into the train

great advice. you have lots of knowledge. I would recommend doing a video on "how to ride" a lower expensive bike like an aventon. I bet many people would love to know what are the tips and tricks to ride such a lower priced bike and have it for many years. I am guessing that it has a lot to do with switching gears and easy on the throttle at lower speeds so you don't put so much stress on the bike. Thanks again.

These are great bikes and I own the MoshCity and RushCity Speed, but try and get simple replacement parts through Serial 1 support and they're not available.

950 Mi on my radrover 6 and I'm ready for a new chain and cassette.
Radrover own maintenance schedule suggests overhaul at 1000 to 1500 miles.
I like my fat tire Bike it's the most versatile e-bike out there and with the battery it really doesn't matter rolling resistance, because I can go through deep snow sand and any other surface with ease.
    Great video thanks 👍

I’ve been researching the Rush/Cty and just came across your videos which I’ve been finding helpful and interesting. I’m hoping you can help me with a little advice. I am interested in the step-through bike but the company’s website says I should be on a XL frame. At 6’1”, 33” reach and 34” inseam will the L step through be fine or is the step over frame in XL the better choice for me (all of my drop bar bikes have had 58cm frames)? Also, I believe the stated weight limit is 280 lbs including the weight of the bike. I clock in at 225 and with the bike at just about 60 we’re already beyond the posted limit. Is the weight limit primarily out of concern for the spokes? Most e-bikes in this price range state a load limit of 300 lbs not including the bike and the Rush/Cty looks more heavy duty than most if not all of these. Should I give up on considering the Serial 1 and stick to looking at the likes of Gazelle and R & M for a IGH/Belt drive bike with a name brand motor? I can try out Gazelle, R & M and several other premium brand bikes at a couple of LBS nearby but for the Serial 1 I will need to travel a ways to the only place that stocks them reasonably close and it’s a HD dealership. TIA.

sorry to bother you, but what is your best guess when the next generation serial one will come out? in 2023 or 2024? how would you like it improved? just wondering if i should wait for the next model. seems like technology is changing so fast that we should see another model next year, or other brands offer competing models like priority current, which is something i am considering on their next iteration.

As a Serial 1 dealer, when do you anticipate spares (batteries in particular) are likely to be available?

I like your philosophy and your product lineup. I have an Aventon Soltera and have a Gazelle and a Serial 1 on my wishlist for my next step up. The Serial 1 is probably going to be the one.
