Cori, I’m so glad you turned on the camera. I always get inspiration from you. The hinged journal looks so cute and doable and I’m anxious to see your video on your “everyday lists” journal. It was fun to see your fantastic estate sale haul. Love estate sales! Will be excited to see how you use your treasures. I know 2024 was a tough year for you so I’m wishing you a wonderful, healthy, joyful and overall awesome 2025. Hugs!
What beautiful nails you have, Cori! That was quite a haul for you to use in future projects. Happy New year to you and your family and friends. Looking forward to seeing what you’ll be doing in 2025 and beyond.
So happy to see you Cori. What an unbelievable haul you got the bargain of the year. I love these little journals. TFS🌴💕 Many Blessings in the New Year.
What an amazing haul!!! I just have to say…”oh the joy in listening to the ramblings of an artist!” “It’s music to my ears!”😊😊 Enjoy your time with your grandchildren!!! It is just such a gift… “ a gift of unconditional love !!!❤️ ❤💕💕 Thank you for sharing! 💕💕💕💕❤️❤️❤️
Hello sweet Joy! Grandkids are the absolute best and a beautiful reward for the challenges and adventures of parenting. I hope you're doing wonderfully well and are enjoying a peaceful, relaxed yet very happy holiday season ❤️
They are fun to do! Granted, it took my kids a bit, but only because they wanted to figure it out for themselves. In fact, rather than "teaching" them how to fold it, next time I'll put them in groups of four with one set of instructions per group and see what they come up with on their own! Bet they create some fabulous alternatives 😊 And just an FYI, I got that on TPT from Brain Waves Instruction. It's part of their Doodle and Do lessons. I also really love their Writing Responses With Text Based Evidence unit. It has been quite beneficial for my kids.
Thank you for the kindness. I was wondering if folks would just think "who cares what you're doing with it?!", but I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed that think aloud ❤️
I’m a retired Biology teacher, I used to get my kids to make those little booklets (plain copy paper), some used A3 paper to make them a bit bigger. They used them to summarise topics with mind maps or annotated diagrams or something similar. They became a revision document for a topic, for most it was so much more effective than merely making notes. ❤❤❤ thank you for your video.
What a lovely treasure haul…..so much for so little!! Thanks for sharing your ideas, I just love them all. Looking forward to more. Happy New Year, I love the idea of “simplify”!!
I love the butterfly journal with the lace. The tear-off pieces in the back are such a neat idea. I'd love to incorporate that idea in a new journal. Thanks for your video!
That was the best $1.48 spent!! So many amazing fabrics, books and that painting. I just had to subscribed so I don't miss your upcoming videos!! I Especially like the idea of the insert for flower/leaf press!! Thanks for sharing this inspiring video!!
Your planner looks fantastic can't wait for a video on that I always have bits and pieces to organise work, home, craft. I'm a big note taker. Thank you.
Honestly, the list-makers journal is super simple and a lot of fun. I'm planning to share my Life, Simplified journal early next week and I hope you join the adventure!
What a fabulous haul! Definitely a great time to go to these estate sales. I would have assumed everything would be gone. But we are junk journals, and most people will consider it junk. While we consider it a treasure! I adore this little no sew journal. I am definitely excited about making a few of these to use throughout next year. Thank you for an amazing year filled with inspiration! Wishing you a happy and fulfilling new year! Hugs ❤️🤗🥂🍾🎉
Bless you and thank you. It was quite satisfying to put together such a simple journal and I wish you happy times in the craft room as you create one also. Bless you and a very happy new year to you!
Cori, I think we are on the same brain length. I am moving in January, and slowly packing all my belongings…. I have been pre making mass makes and foundation pieces while I figure out where I am to move and make a lot of these to decorate and build up my stash. I love how you slightly expanded this!! I will make some of these as well. Thank you!! Love this idea of making 2025 simplified.
Cara from Cara Brandon Creations is hostessing it and I'm absolutely certain you'll get some helpful and fun ideas there. Hmmmm. Maybe she is doing a give away. I'll have to check on that!
The painting is actually an Oil Painting done on a canvas board. Canvas boards are much cheaper than stretched canvas, but they eventually will warp. Lots of beginning Artists use canvas boards so it isn't as expensive. Established Artists paint on them too, mostly for practicing, but most prefer stretched canvas or gluing rolled canvas to wood cradle panels for their pieces. ❤ Love the great bargain you got for all the gorgeous textiles and all the other things!
Great haul for the 1.48! That little green quilt cover is wonderful. I received my envelope. Love it! I will be interested to see how you make your new list journal. I have a store bought planner for this year. I prefer one I have made. I had made one last year and really liked it. Time forced me to buy one in the fall. My next project is going to be botanical made from packing paper. Wish me luck! 😂 OH and the cat doily is just wonderful! Cat journal is on my list. Purple too!
I'm so glad you mentioned that! I'll pop the cat panel of lace in the mail to you. I do like cats, but am sure I won't make a cat journal. It needs to live in your book! I'm gone over the weekend, but intend to do a process video early next week for my Life, Simplified journal. I hope you'll be able to play along. Definitely wishing you luck and happy times creating!
Such a fantastic haul Cori and love all your simple "M"fold journals. I think I'll challange you to make one of your daffodil journals before the first daffodil, that's nearest you, blooms. 😉
OH! I love that idea!! Thank you, Gaye. I've got so many daffodil treasures saved that I think I'm just overwhelmed at the thought of sorting stuff to just make ONE. Hmmm, challenge accepted and I've a few "free" days next week so I'm going to move your challenge up to "before I return to school". Thank you for the push!
Thank you for letting me know! I'm definitely going to use that book for my Jibid Neary inspired journal. And, I absolutely LOVE Michigan. I really appreciate you letting me know about the background of that book ❤️
Love watching your videos, and it was so funny that you were talking about how you had to replace your flooring and I was just thinking if I could only talk to someone that went through that we are replacing the carpet in our living room and hall so I was trying to figure out how we were going to do that and not be able to take all our big furniture out of the living room and to make it as easy as possible we are in our late 70 closer to 80 and going to do everything except laying the hardwood I wish I could find the best way to do this any tips
Are you replacing it yourself or having it done? That knee whacker to stretch the carpet and attach it to the nail strips is brutal. I have a German Shepherd so no carpeting, but that is not a task I'd tackle on my own. Most installers will move your furniture for you, they just ask you to move the little things. Amazon has lots of inexpensive moving pads that go under the feet of your furniture, to make moving/sliding/etc much easier. I imagine Home Depot has them as well. But please, do not lift and place them yourselves. Hernias are no little thing! Bless you and best wishes for a successful project.
Wow you found a real bargain for all of those goodies under 2$ 😱 and we must be channeling the same ideas because after the challenges I e had in 2024 I also am hoping for simplicity for 2025 ❤ thanks for all of the inspiration
Great haul. Did you find those in Boise or Washington. I am near Boise and need to keep an eye for needlework. Also love your organizing plan to video.
Those were from an estate sale here in WA. I find most estate sales to be hit-or-miss, especially with pricing. That is absolutely the best sale I've found. There is a second chance craft supplies shop in Boise where I've found some fun treasures. It's upstairs from a plant shop. Can't remember the name, but I found it easily when I was looking for thrift stores.

That was an amazing haul for $1.48! I like the way you hinged your book; will definitely need to try that out. Thanks for all the inspiration.
So glad you got something from that rambling video! That hinge system is super easy when you're not wanting to sew anything. Happy creating to you!
Thanks for sharing all your finds and ideas☺
Fabulous ideas! I teach middle school history and plan on teaching my students how to make these booklets.
They are fun to do! Granted, it took my kids a bit, but only because they wanted to figure it out for themselves. What a fabulous haul! And how beautiful to hear your thoughts about what plans you have with every piece you purchased. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for the kindness. I was wondering if folks would just think "who cares what you're doing with it?!", but I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed that think aloud ❤️

Thank you. Now to stop squirreling long enough to make them...
I love the butterfly journal with the lace. The tear-off pieces in the back are such a neat idea. I'd love to incorporate that idea in a new journal. Thanks for your video!
Thank you and Tracie Fox has created some absolutely gorgeous tear-away items. Please check out her Ko-Fi shop as she has them as freebies!
Thank you for your video, enjoyed it. Thank you for also being the catalyst for a freebie created by Tracie ♥️🇳🇦
She is just absolutely amazing. Her digi creating skills rock my world ❤️ And thank you for the kindness 😊

Wow! That haul would be a bargain at 5 times the $1.48! Can’t wait to see how you use some of it.
I always enjoy your demo's and information 😊 tyfs

You found a beautiful Gwen Frostic book! She was a Michigan artist who loved nature.
Thank you for letting me know! I'm definitely going to use that book for my Jibid Neary inspired journal. And, I absolutely LOVE Michigan. I really appreciate you letting me know about the background of that book ❤️
