Use the 4th paddle and just cut it shorter. I always used only 2 paddles on my elite 1. Then I just cut two of them shorter and now I have essentially 2 buttons and 2 paddles on the back. I would absolutely put "ping/mark" on on one of the paddles as you can pretty much mark enemies before or even during a 1v1. So good for solo ranked play. Plus you get extra medals and points for marking enemies. You don't need reload on a paddle as the animation is just so long that it is not a bad thing you have to take your thumb off for a second. Audio: turn off environmental sounds as it makes footsteps easier to hear.
There's this long video on TH-cam analysing how the deadzones and sens work on H: Infinite by EternalDahaka and according to them, the vertical sense is 0.5 what horizontal sense is. So if you want them to be even it would have to be 5 horizontal sense and 10 vertical sense. The game feels a lot better after I made this change.
I'm a M&K player and honestly the game needs so much work in regards to mouse bullet magnetism because of the strafe speed and the forced crossplay. Its really been putting me off. Rant over lol, super useful and nice vid btw.
Thank you and I understand and relate. I play every FPS on PC and have for about 7 years now. Halo is the only title I really played on controller growing up. The MNK feel in Infinite is not my favorite, as such I've been playing pad. I'm hoping we hear word from the devs sooner rather than later regarding the PC build, mouse, and optimization issues.
For me every couple of days i will log in and my sense will be max even if I barely touch the stick, but it leaves in another couple days. It's honestly game breaking and I hope it gets fixed. Idk if anyone else is having this problem but it's really effecting the game for me.
Same on PC/controller! Some days for no reasons the sensitivity is insane, I need to go 2/2.5/1 or something to be able to play, and it feels like there is 0 aim assist as well. I made sure I have no mouse input detected while in game. Sometimes a restart fixes it, sometimes not, it's totally random.
Changed my controls, have been winning more br battles in ranked and regular slayer matches left stick is crouch/slide, right stick is melee B is run A is jump. As far as clamber I have it on, if I'm in a fight and behind a wall and accidentally clamber you cancel it by backing up
I use two paddles with jump and crouch on them. I tried using four paddles with also drop weapon and mark, but could not get used to it. Since paddles can be any button, I changed the jump to right on d-pad and mapped that to paddle. This left A button free and I put drop weapon there. Moving right thump to A feels more confortable than moving left thump to d-pad right.
On the vertical and horizontal sens, this is the first I’ve heard of the potential mismatch, but I’ve copied Frosty’s settings from day one and he plays on 5 and 5.5. After basically 100 hours of using this, it feels pretty uniform, so I would personally recommend this sens, but I agree with you, if you’re used to 5 and 5 then just stick with it.
There is a difference between horizontal and vertical, it's almost twice. Go to a square doorway, center ur crosshair, hold ur stick at a 45 angle, you will see it tracks much more horizontally than vertically. I'm personally playing at 2.5 horizontal, 4 vertical. Feels pretty square
I actually use 120 fov cause I’m a maniac like FaZe Bound. i tried lowering it to 100 since most pros have it around there, but it didn’t really make a difference to me, so I increased it back to 120. I use all four paddles on the elite series 2. I have the upper 2 mapped to A and B, with the lower mapped to ping and drop weapon. I think you may be able to use all four if you get the elite series 2 because the paddles on that one are harder to actuate and are also shorter than the ones on the series 1. But you probably already know that because I think I remember you making a video on the series 2.
I love this game but from what I see the optimization on PC has been left aside and they just turn a blind eye to the "best halo experience on PC" that they mention in the description of the game on steam It seems like a lie to me :/
Axial deadzone is a secondary deadzone that only applies to horizontal when moving vertically and vice versa. I feel like it's most useful when trying to quickly flick your aim up to toss a quick nade without moving your X axis.
Not sure if it's a glitch or not, but I mapped my Melee to my RB and it caused the Gravity hammer to go haywire. It will swing down but nothing happens after that. As if it doesn't hit the ground. It does no damage when swung. It's crazy, had to map my buttons back because melee only worked when I did. Brand new controller so definitely not that, the button works for anything else but melee.
So I did 5.0 for about a solid 6 weeks then made the jump to 5.5 and it was a huge difference 6 I found to quick for me but I’m also legally blind with corrective glasses so your mileage may vary
I cut down the paddles on my 1st gen elite controller... they're pretty much just a 1cm button now so i dont hit them accidentally. They're pretty tough to cut but you can nip off little peices with a good pair of side cutters and then clean them up with a file. I do wish the lower mounting point for the paddles was further down so i could comfortably grip the controller and hit the paddle with my pinky finger I play on legacy controls Upper right paddle - jump Upper left paddle - crouch Lower left paddle - weapon swap Lower right paddle - none I also have drop weapon on d-pad right but I never remember to use it, i tried it on the lower right paddle but kept hitting it accidentally
I just finished the campaign and notice you got a mention the the credits, congrats mate, what did you do to get a mention? Tell you what, was the longest credits roll I’ve ever seen too.
Thank you very much! I was part of a small community feedback council called the Forerunners that went out to 343 in 2019 to provide focused feedback on certain elements of the game throughout development. We helped test and provide feedback the last few years.
I've messed with so many of these settings and I just cannot nail them down. It feels so inconsistent and random to me and AA just decides to stop working whenever I need it most. Whenever I want to make small adjustments I'm doing 360* spins, when I want to do quick turnarounds or aim snaps it takes ages to move 1/2 an inch. I finally just gave up and left everything to default except the look dead zones and set the stick curve on the Elite II to Aggressive and True Diagonals. I was really hoping to make it feel like H2A in MCC. The H2A mp is just so damn buttery smooth and my reticule always goes exactly where I'm expecting it to be. I can nail headshots and crazy no scopes for days in H2A. However, I did play on the 4:3 setting like in your other video and it gave me huge nostalgia feels lol. I like the chonk but I'll probably switch it back. The chonk kinda hurts my eyes after awhile.
not sure if it will make a difference on controller vs MnK, but I set minimum and max framerate to unlimited. I'm playing at over 200fps on a 144hz monitor and i get little to no screen tearing in infinite but if feels so much smoother. When I had the caps on if felt like I had input delay.
Yooooooo, can somebody in here help me understand why I've been using paddle to slide/crouch for the entirety of halo infinite and randomly it stopped registering? I go to settings to try and set paddle as slide and it doesnt even recognize I'm hitting a button?? No my controller isnt broken I've already tried a brand new controller thinking my paddle was faulty.. how is this possible
Coming from games like Apex and cod awhile back... I literally cannot get my sens to feel "good" in this game. I either get it too fast, or too slow. Too fast to aim but not fast enough to turn around when I'm getting shot.. I just wondered if this is like a halo "thing" because I have noticed most people play on a lower sens than I would like. But in a game where shots really matter I guess I can see that. But I can drop 20 kills with a "faster" sens, but I can't hit snipes like I'd like to... So idk, something just feels off for me and I just hate it. So many gunfights I get done feeling like "damn that was wonky" lol.
You've already given some great tips tho so I'm hoping you can give more input on the sens. They also (like most games) do a terrible job explaining what stuff does lol. Like the one "max threshold" setting or whatever, seems backwards... 0 is fast, 15 is slow... But it's worded the opposite. Just such a bummer cause if I could have like my Apex sens, I would enjoy this game so freaking much.
Thanks for the 2 videos on settings. I have one question that I can't seem to get an answer for: Your brain can't sense anything higher than 60 FPS, so why go higher?
Auto clamber almost always negates step jump as well - you can't really use both in my experience so auto should definitely be off unless you're brand new and need the assistance
I like having my center look dz at 1.0. 0.0 is too responsive and I'll find myself windmilling while thing to track an enemies head. I also play on 5 accel with 6.0 horizontal and 5.5 vertical. I feel like this helps in 1v1 strafe battles.
i cant be bothered anymore with this game until they fix the fucked sensitivity system they have, the shit feels atrocious on controller unless you spend hrs trying to get your sens down and on kbm its probably the worst feeling triple A shooter for pc players rn. like i play MCC on and off and everytime i return i can play with the sens i have just fine, same with apex, cod, siege, val , battlefield, cs. and if not then at most i just need to spend like 5 or so mins readjusting the sens and im good. everytime i take a break from this game the controller sens feels fucked then i try and change it and readjust it, still feels like ass, then i go on vids like this (5th one btw) and it still feels fucking dogshit. so i give up and play with kbm..... high dpi, low sens... it feels like aids and nowhere near as responsive as other games. i love halo but like everytime i try and give this game a go it just makes me wanna go play sumn else that feels better, shit i dont like BR games,,, and ive been enjoying apex more than this simply because it feels better to play

shout out to bbk for giving me the best halo tips since halo reach! he's an OG, a real one, and a super chill guy. Love ya man!!!

Step jump is amazing for setting up drop slides quicker as well. Big bonus for movement

2.5 seems super low sens. im at 4,5 but thinking on lowering. just curious, what rank are you?
Ogre 2, maybe the best Halo player of all time, plays at 3.5 on infinite.
@@joshuas1834 Nice, will check him out. I'm not new to halo but i am to knowing pro/competitive players.
Same. 2.5 hotizontal 5.0 vertical.

Best explanation I've heard yet. Thanks
I have the same 8-bit Master chief. Favorite desk accessory lol
If I had paddles I'd definitely map one to drop weapon and one to ping. I hate taking my thumb off the left stick to press the D pad!
Doesn’t Bumper Jumper kill your LB? I know the LB on my controllers break easily if I constantly use them.
Yeah, it nukes it fast
I use higher vertical than horizontal bc it feels I have to pull very often on maps with strong elevation change. Playing on 5 4 6
What controller are you using and where can I get one? Thank you so much!!!
what controller are you using?
is it the xbox elite controller?

Bit of an update. I tried the 0 and 5 deadzones you suggested. It's still not perfect but it certainly does feel much better.
Isn't there a delay going from sprinting straight to shooting?
I know this is going to sound crazy be I been using my right back paddle for my right trigger and man it works great
I saw a video a while back (forgot who uploaded it) but basically he explained that 5.5 vertical and 5 horizontal is even
oh wow, thank you!
@@BBKDRAGOON sure thing! I’m not positive how reliable he was but just looking closely at it makes sense
I can only use 2 paddles max also because of my long fingers. Only things that I “would” add to mine though are equipment use & weapon switch
I get 200 FPS with my 1080ti on the same settings? Maybe you need to optimise your nvidia control panel settings.

thank you alot!
1070ti same video settings as you I get 120-140fps in mp.
No clarity just personal experience but YES vertical sens does not feel good it’s pretty frustrating lol
You should try turning on async compute. For myself and many others you can gain 10% fps with just that being turned on.
Does anyone here know how to stop the sensory settings from returning to default even though it says 0 . I tried everything .
If you uninstall the HD texture packs you'll get better performance
I actually don't like aim accel so I use 2 accel and a higher sens - 6 horizontal and 7 vertical.
Right on!
Same. I find the look accel hard to ‘track’ in the middle of a fight. I slammed my down to 1.
This gives me a linear scale when making rapid inputs.
I feel weird when you guys talk about ping and how much it's unplayable when it's above 60 🙂.
I'm saying this because we always play on 150+
what is that Offset for the BR tho??!
lol it was in the vid, thank you
I like to play with 65 FOV and default sensitivity. I feel like I'm more accurate that way. Or else I'm just a pro noob... 🤷

It's 2022. If you're aren't using a controller with paddles (or claw ig) then you're playing at a disadvantage.
Claw ftw
