That's a great working crankshaft straightening jig I didn't realize that existed all the bent cranks I've encountered I just swapped the engine they are cheap and easy to get

I wish I knew that they made those. Ive tossed many of motors with bent cranks. I would have fought with it some more until the indicator fell on the centerline. it looks a little skewed but I guess theres no run out....keep the good content coming

I have seen those type snap the shaft and the end fly through the shop. Mine is a Jiffy brand and only has one screw. It pushes against the sump. Never broken a shaft. Have straightened literally hundreds of shafts.
Now that is a tool worth having. Similar to using a dial indicator. For checking run-out. But also has the ability to straighten & realign. I gave a mower away in the past, due to a bent crankshaft. Didn't know this tool even existed. Trouble is, we make everything these days out of plastic & playdohnium. With zero quality & reliability.
Jeremy, is there a bottom end oil seal consideration here? Or only if it is leaking? As opposed to may as well replace it while the engine is off the frame and it is relatively accessible? I can’t believe those seals are robust, nothing else on that model engine is robust. After all, it is 100% Chineseium

I always polish the crank before using the sleeve. I also mark the sleeve with a sharpie before bending so I am not bending it back and forth.

If it’s leaking replace it, but if the crank is benched that bad a seal is not going to seal
