    Can you update the fresh flower ones again in a few months curious to see if they keep deteriorating. I kinda like them as they are now. Like someone else mentioned they look vintage

    The silicone chunk "hack" is true! I do it all the time. Wet silicone sticks to cured silicone. Just make sure your chunks aren't too small and trap air bubbles. I pour some silicone and then drop in the chunks to fill space.

    • @NoadiArt
      @NoadiArt 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do this all the time too. Also use the same type of silicone since different silicones have different hardnesses and flexibility.

    I had the same type of fail! I couldn’t figure out why my piece was so flexible but my resin was also pretty thin and I used quite a bit of ink too. Thanks for solving the mystery for me haha!
    For your dark corner in the background, what if you put LED lights into a block of resin and made a lamp?

    I wonder.... If you could grate the silicone mold with a cheese grater. Or even grind it up in a blender. Cause I worry if you just did chunks if it would cause problems... But otherwise it seems like it would work fine to use it as filler. Can you do a video on it?

    I just learned something from you today !!! You suggested to place place the flower up side down !!! Had a flower idea for you. I have heard that using glycerin water for a week before drying, will make the flowers more resilient. I can't remember what the water/glycerin ratio is but I have definitely seen dried flowers that had soaked up the glycerin were much more vibrant. Was wondering if that would make fresh flowers or dried ones in resin would look even better? I love dried flowers in all their variations but thought I would offer something to test.

    Every fail video, your hair attacks you and you describe it in great detail lol- first video was a nose hair tickling the end of your nose. 2nd video, you had a hair across your face driving you crazy. 3rd video is your eyelashes hooking together trapping your eyeball. (I'm binge watching your fail series all in a row, so that's probably why I even noticed, lol.) I like that you leave those kinds of moments in your videos, instead of a jump-cut and editing it out like most other people do, you're just so much more real and I love you for it.

    I have a tip for you for spheres but it’s kind of hard to explain without showing you what I mean. You need to do them in layers, especially the two piece sphere molds. You want to do the seal in it’s own layer so you can pour it until you are close to the seam and then let it cure and do the seam and let it cure and then finish the rest. The seam is where bubbles are most likely to form since no matter what you do, there tends to be a perfect place for air to get trapped. I’m not sure how to do flowers since you really need them to be sealed all at once or the resin cooks the exposed areas but you can still experiment and figure it out. If you do the layer thing, it should help.

    Well using the silicone to fill some places so you can save silicone sounds like a great idea but, just a thought... what about if you mix a little bit of the new silicone and you fill the little holes were it ripped so you can kind of fix the mold you already have.

  • @scipunkdollstudios4081

    You should make a video of wich type of epoxy resin you prefer. (Uv. Or mixing each parts.) And what the downfalls and good things about each type. cause ive only used uv resin and it seems to be tacky and sticky after i cure it with the uv light. Also it sometimes doesnt want to set correctly and will still be wet underneath and will have set and hardened underneath.

    Got a question! A little desperate for an answer lol. My little sister had some flowers from a funeral that she really wanted to save but followed the advice of others instead of coming to me first and both sprayed them with hairspray and put them in the freezer. Is there any possible way to save these flowers to be able to put them in resin. Everything is telling me even if we go straight from freezer to silica they're still going to turn into mush.

    Have you ever tried dying white flowers THEN trying the fresh and dry experiment? Just cut fresh white flowers then put them in warm water with food coloring (not sure if alcohol ink would work but hey...why not try that too) and wait for them to achieve the color you want, then proceed as normal. Could get black roses, purples, all kinds of colors, just not sure how well it would preserve in resin...

    I just did my first resin piece and it was a fail in a few ways. I bought self adhesive laminating sheets to attempt protecting butterfly wings when suspended in resin. However the adhesive does not stick to wings well so the resin was able to seep through and damage the wings. It still looks cool because the wings end up looking like stained glass but the laminating sheets don't stick well together so you can see it through the resin. Another reason it was a fail was because i got the heat gun too close the lamination sheets and it crinkled. It was a learning project i knew it would probably fail I have an important butterfly to preserve I gave to my late grandfather ( the shadow box it was in got damaged), Will be working on the next butterfly piece I purchased the lamination machine you used previously and have already successfully laminated a butterflies wings with it. I think this time wont be such a fail...

    • @ArtsyMadwoman
      @ArtsyMadwoman  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I feel like that's such a huge part of resin & creating in general. Testing things out & sometimes failing but failing is how you learn how to get it right! A lot of people are afraid to try because they don't want to fail so that's awesome that you went for it & now when you do your butterfly piece, it'll come out better! I'm so happy that the lamination machine worked for you!! You've got this! ❤

    I'm curious if you have any dried flower pieces that have faded over time inside the resin...? I have seen some people saying that you have to seal the dried flowers with some hairspray or resin sealant before you stick the dried flowers in resin so that 6 months down the road, they still have color. Have you had any of yours lose color?

    • @ArtsyMadwoman
      @ArtsyMadwoman  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I couple of my rose pieces have lost a bit of their color over time but I do think that there are certain flowers that do well in resin & flowers that don't quite hold up. So I also have pieces I made last year that are still colorful! I try to avoid doing flowers I know will lose its color.

    • @ArtsyMadwoman
      @ArtsyMadwoman  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much!! So I'd use casting resin because it sounds like you want to cast an object so I think casting resin would be perfect! As long as the coasters aren't too thin, some casting resins can be slightly flexible especially if the piece is really thin.

    Uhhh everything was going so gooood. Then when I had to start adding the flowers I didn’t know pouring the resin too thick would cause it to start smoking a bubbling. Luckily my mold is fine it’s just now it’s not clear! It had a bunch of bubbles 🥺

    So I just had the same "bending" resin piece (too much ink in it) and I decided to try to bake it with polymer clay - just to test if resin melts or something. BUT! It has gotten exellently firm! Like glass. So that's a hint for this topic. ^_^ (But i tried this only one time, approx.10 minutes in 120°C)
