- We had the unique opportunity of documenting the entirety of the Anfield Main Stand Expansion project, which saw a whopping 8500 seats added to the stadiums' main stand.

the expansion was pearl, without losing the touch "you'll never walk alone"
instablaster.
Choosing to redevelop Anfield and scrapping the new stadium project is probably the best decision the LFC owners have made alongside the decision to appoint Klopp.
Yeah, credit to the owners for this stand - and choosing Klopp. They're seen as tight spending money, but the club is stable financially, tied many top players down to new contracts, won trophies, rebuilding the Anfield Rd End, New training ground. Decent effort - especially compared to the previous owners.
We're in the same exact situation right now at Stamford Bridge? Why did you feel redeveloping Anfield was better stand by stand instead of building a brand new stadium was better? Cant like seeing Tottenham's new stadium makes me very jealous.
@@joecoe4416 with all due respect things are a little different for Chelsea. The amount of success anfield has seen in its history makes a move to a new stadium unfathomable. Both to supporters who obviously cherish the place and ownership who can use its image and history as a springboard for historic renovations that are far more impactful, affordable, and pleasing for us fans.
@@areamannamesyoutubechannel3139 Stamford Bridge has a lot of history too, lets not be ignorant. But thats not what im talking about, im talking about the actual rebuild/redevelopement of the stadium.
@@joecoe4416 sure. But I don’t think there’s much more to grasp than anfield being too special to tear down. It’d be a far worse PR move than Spurs tearing down WHL.
Edit: we also try to reduce cost where possible. Tearing down and building a new stadium would likely cost way more. FSG prioritize cost reduction in the club’s financial approach.
One of the most beautiful stadiums I have ever been to. Highly recommend the Stadium Tour & Museum.
Good to see a stadium actually expanding rather than reduced to rubble.
Not many classic English stadiums left in the premier league anymore, all victims to bulldozers, every ground is built from the same blueprint now. The individual characteristics are dying
You have goodison park, Old Trafford, St James park etc.
Big shame that. That’s what makes me feel bad for West Ham supporters who have to go to the London stadium every week instead of an actual football ground. Tbh a lot of these new bigger grounds like arsenal and Tottenham just don’t feel like football stadiums to me
TH Gaming Wales Goodison Park is going bye bye now.
@@freddielm7381 emirates actually has some soul. It’s been used a bunch and the Arsenal fans aren’t plastic like Man City fans
Believe me, I grew up a Red Sox fan here in Maine, USA. I have the same love and awe for this club now too and so glad that when I visit in the next few years, it'll still be Anfield.
I never knew Anfield was that small before
True
Luca Figueiredo Plastic fan
It's still small and ugly
@ady nails Most new stadiums tend to look like soulless postmodern crap (just look at H&G's old Stanley Park designs - what an eyesore). I'd rather have a rugged/old fashioned slightly smaller stadium than some big glass toilet any day of the week. Also once the new training ground is out of the way there are plans to expand the Annie Road end bringing the total capacity to 61,000 - just 1,000 less than Spurs' new stadium.
Luca Figueiredo anfield is a kids stadium, it was originally build for the scousers kids to get away from crime and try learn football. Unfortunately it was stolen from them and used by the adult criminals.
Magnificent stand ! In fact, it's so good that they really should try to update the rest of the stadium.
they would do that step by step, trying to keep it up without interrupting many games
I work for the club as a steward and the plan now is to expand the anfield road end next but first they finishing of the training ground complex in kirby they aim for capacity of 60.000
@@Darrenweirdo23 need it to be at least 65,000 mate. I'm sure they're revising the original plan for the Annie Rd end because they said they needed more in September press release
But the side of the stadium which backs onto houses is going to be tough to expand-or are there plans for that side (or end?) to expand seating?
This is what west ham should have done😥
Hammer 103 should of done the same at aresnal too
@@Footballtalkcentre Arsenal tried but they had to demolish loads of houses.
No room
yeah London stadium sucks for football game
I agree, coming from a hammer
You forget how ordinary the ground was before this magnificent new stand was built. The owners have done a decent job.
Saints fan in peace, interesting that Liverpool carried on playing in Anfield while it was built at the back of the old stand and then they completely demolish the old one after the season ends and put seating on it before the new season starts. Clever planning.
I think it will do the same thing to Anfield Road Stand as well.
There is a road behind Anfield Road end and that is a sticking point. Loads of fans have suggested to make the stadium on the road but make the road a tunnel access, in essence the road passes through the stand. If that happens, it would be pretty cool.
Can someone explain to me clearly, I don't understand when you say anfield road end,is it a real road or its just the name of that area,,I also what to know whether this plan of expanding anfield stadium is by using the same stadium or is by building the new stadium,,, also I want to know if the expansion is through the same stadium how will they expand it without interfering games??
Thank you Kops ..YNWA
@@ashutoshsingh7016 they could. Pretty much as it was the case with Atletico's previous stadium: Vicente Calderon. A highway was passing right under one of the stands.
@@ashutoshsingh7016 Its started now, they are rerouting the road.
@@sunshine-yh6oz the stadium is on Anfield Road, hence the Annie Road end. That simple my friend
really nice of Liverpool to continue in their old stadium..small stadiums (anfield, Highbury) has the best atmospheres than the soulless big ones like etihad, emirates
They were building graveyard for Barcelona
LOL
No they were building the graveyard for Liverpool against Watford, Atlético and Chelsea xD
José Pedro Porto are shit
@@cavs6663 We don't spend 30 years without winning an league title like liverpool
José Pedro like to see porto try winning a league title in the prem instead of being in a farmer's league
Impressive work, hope to see the Anfield Road stand get renovated as well
Its started.
It’s insane to see how small the main stand originally was
They did a good job with the outside. Not just glass and steel, the brick work is pleasant to look at.
We need another expansion!
SxRG- yeah anfield looks like a fabric tbh
Patience! There are plans to expand the Anfield Road end too but the club are focusing on the new training ground at the moment.
@@GreenyFool I hope they do in the next 2 years!!
We need another 3. Fed up of the club talking about 60k, that's what West Ham, Spurs, City and Chelsea are content with, we're Liverpool, our fanbase, history and reputation around Europe dwarfs theirs. 70k minimum
You need a Premier League title
Cat at 0:23 wants a renovation of his brick area, which has a brick falling apart.
littl3m0nkey 0:25 you bastard
Fantastic stadium..! The dream for only football players
More like old trafford

Wonderful Stadium. Greetings from Germany😁👍🏼
About time they increased capacity to match the status of such an iconic club.....
Hope that I can visit Anfield one time in life
What a beautiful site
Now do a new anfield road stand to the same height with two rows of executive boxes. Call it the paisley stand. Then dare I say a new kop to the same height single tier of course no executive boxes, like the yellow wall at Dortmund. Then replace the kenny dalglish stand, two rows of boxes between the layers. still named after king kenny. That should be 75,000+ .Rename the main stand the shankly stand.
Graham Lowe this ain’t the lfc channel

I just came here to remember the old poles I always liked them for no reason at all I was like 10 at the time I suppose
who here after liverpool won the title
So delighted L.F.C. decided to expand rather than build a brand new stadium.
That would have been sarcrilage !!!
And hopefully, it will be expanded even more, in the not too distant future.
Anfield is magic, always has been, and always will be.
Fantastic memorable day's and night's at this famous ground.
And they're still happening.
Long may they last.
Somehow, I think they will.
Thing's can only get better for L.F.C. !!!
And finally we are about to expand the Anfield Road -end by about 7000 seats! Going to about 61000 capacity, give or take.
Less than old Trafford still

In England and most of Europe stadiums they even hate to design some little space between playing field and seating area
Li joong ddak!
Everton ftw
Great football stadium
They slightly over did it. There are hundreds of seats at each end where you can't see the near side goal due to the stand roofs being too low. That needs rectified. You want to see the whole pitch from every seat given what they charge now
