Refashion DIY Men's Shirt into Jumpsuit/Romper

- Hi everyone,
I'm back with a very exciting DIY that I transform a men's shirt into the jumpsuit. I hope you like it and could easy to make the similar one by yourself.
The size of the jumpsuit I made is my size (S size). So if your size is bigger, you just need to increase the shoulder, the belly and the high of the pants around 4cm (each side) for M size and 8 cm for L size.

Great video. I wonder how I can make it for myself as I might not be your size. How did you come up with the measurements?
For example was the waist measurement 5 cm more than your waists?
I can figure out most measurements but the crutch curve is the hardest.
For the front crotch curve, make the extra at least 3m. For the back crotch curve, the extra is around 1/10 your hip size

fezia muluk find as big as you can for the men's shirt. The bigger it is, the easier to do for the measurement

Hi Jess! I found a very nice shirt in green, but the size is XLT american size I guess, can I still make it into this jumpsuit?
I'm not sure if it's the big size or not. However, to know if it's good for this DIY, you can check it before. Check the width of the shirt to see if it's bigger than your hip size or not. Make sure it has to be bigger than your hip size + 30cm

Thank you really much for this video! It really inspired me on how I want to have my romper! I wanted to ask for your (or the communitys) advice: I want to make a romper similar to yours. Since my shirt is more a shirt dress I want it to be long, straight-ish/ wide leg pants. So when making my pattern I would suggest just extending the shorts, drawing straight lines downwards to make them as long as I want them to be. Or what would you recommend? Do I have to consider something? Of course I could make a pattern out of pants I already own, but they are mostly very fitted around my waist, but I would like it if the romper is not too tight, just the belt sinching in the waist. Ill probably just have to play around and figure it out by trying but if anyone has any suggestions feel free to help my out :)
If you just draw straight lines downwards, the leg will be the same wide from the hip to the end. If you want a wide leg pants, I think you should draw the lines a little outside. So it'll make the legs bigger

Hi Jess! I am new to sewing. I would like to make this, but I don’t know how to adjust the measurements for my size. I am 5’4” tall and about 115 lbs. will this fit me? Or how can I adjust ? Thank you!
This is for small size. If you want to make the bigger size, you have to adjust to your size. For this jumpsuit, the main measurement you need to focus is the pants. Make sure the width of the rectangle has to be bigger than a half of your hip size.
Everything is very beautiful, very easy, because of this thank's. but we can only see the front. We can't understand how it looks behind.

Jess, this is so cute. How do you determined what measurements for your body and for each pieces?. If i follow your measurements it will never fit me. Your so tiny and petite. Would love to know how i can go about deciding how much fabric i need for body and skirt/shorts.
MamaaaPerdue For the short: make sure the width of the leg is over a quarter of your hip size. For the shirt: the width of the shirt is over half of your bust size

Very nice but would like to see how it looks in the back. Seemed like the back part was not deep enough to not bunch in the derrière and that would be a problem. Maybe she can show us how to fix that problem.
The back is not tight to the body. Because it's the part of this design. That's why I have a belt for it. But depend on your style, you can wear this jumpsuit with or without the belt. I usually wear it without the belt, more comfortable
@MaryMagdalene if you’re attempting to accommodate for more mass then add a few CM to Jess’s original measurements. Personally, I added 3 CM & it worked out great!
Add darts to the back. Try using pins to see if it fits better, then sew.

hi! do you own a overlock machine? my sewing machine doesnt have this function that make any project more complicated, do u have any tip for me? thanksss!
fernanda velasquez blasquez Hi, I don't have overlocking machine. I used a stitch that is similar to overlocking stitch on my sewing machine. Because I want to make all my DIY in the most simplest way thay everyone with non-professional sewing machine can do by themselves. What type of your sewing machine? If it's similar style to mine, I think you can do the same.
hey, i don't have an overlocker either. i usually just use a zig zag stitch over the edge of the fabric. not perfect, but it does the job well enough :)
