    Another great episode :)
As for whether "traditional" psychiatry and psychology should be replaced by this "peer-to-peer" teaching that happens here in the community: that would be dreamy! I previously asserted in my video that Daniel's material should replace the advice given by other professionals...flying in the face of his disclaimer, which reads "This content...should never replace any advice given to you by your physician or other qualified healthcare providers." Daniel, this is perhaps the only contention I have with anything you've said, because I truly believe your material should be the gold standard. I get why you make the statement though...liability and blah blah :). I admit to harboring resentment toward both psychiatry and psychology for failing to provide me with the tools I learned here. I also harbor some bitterness toward my medical school curriculum, which really centered on neurotransmitter physiology, naming "disorders," and pharmacologic treatments. But that's because those things are "evidence-based," whatever that even means anymore (!). At any rate, there's probably no space to give this teaching the attention it deserves, as the sheer amount of material in med school made learning feel like trying to drink water from a fire hose. But as Daniel told me, the truth is sticky, so eventually, the principles will get out into circulation, whether it's by individuals stumbling across the channel or by a larger overhauling of systems.

I really liked listening to Shaan, but one of the things like about the sleep coach school is that you don't keep your info "top secret" and generously give us all the information through your channel. I truly can't thank you enough and I am actually thinking of subscribing down the road now that I have a new job(partially thanks to the sleep coach school!). Does Shaan's channel do the same? Alot of us who are dealing with anxiety are not making as much money as we used to and it's nice to have affordable options. I wish my insurance covered this stuff! I love my therapist, I just don't think she really gets it on a lot of things and is more there to listen to me ramble and be a voice of reason when I am having terrible lows. My psychiatrist seems nice enough, I sorta just feel like I am going through a conveyer belt though. Hopefully there will be a day when these methods become more mainstream and recognized. I can't imagine what dealing with this stuff must be like for people who have less then me! That is why I appreciate this channel it is very clear that it is not led by greed. It's just genuine compassion to help. Perhaps down the road as you grow you could make a way to donate to fund those who can not afford services. I am sure this is not an easy thing to do though.

      Hi Claire,
Thanks for all the kind words and you know, what I’ve seen from Shaan’s channel, it was very valuable 🙂 I think the donation option, it’s wonderful to hear you’d consider this. I’ve thought about it but for now, I think of buying one of my books as a sort of “tip”. Rooting for you!

Oh wow! I love seeing this shift that is happening in our society where we can build a community around our struggles/problems and help each other on our way to recovery. I had struggled with anxiety so much in the post-insomnia period, and I just applied all Daniel's teachings about insomnia to anxiety and it worked! I even came up with an "emotionless window" where I would try to not put labels on emotions and sensations I was having (kinda like not knowing the time). Haha, it's a bit silly but it helped me to reconceptualize and restructure my thinking around anxiety and all the unpleasant sensations I was having. I started to be less scared of them and just observed with curiosity. I even learned to have fun with depersonalization because if you don't put a label "this is horrible" on it then it's not a big deal at all, more like a movie experience, haha! Enjoy the movie :)

Kamilla! Yes isn’t this a wonderful thing we are seeing the beginning of? And what you share here, it’s part of it all, learning from each other and teaching each other 😊!

@@johnmonk3381 Yes, what you are saying is so true. I myself read some books about Zen and Buddhism, and relate to these philosophies a lot. We get so involved in false narratives, illusions of our minds, that we forget that life and our ability to experience it as human beings (for a limited time) is a true miracle.

They body is an image and series of sensations in the mind. There is no body like we typically conceive itself to be, a physical structure separate from the mind. There is only mind.

Hi and welcome! I'd say when he realized there was nothing wrong with him apart from being anxious, that's when the anxiety started fading for him.

I have yet to see anyone on here describe symptoms as grievous as mine, and yet the Dr says I’m fine, I apply the techniques and they work to some extent but if it were really just anxiety then why I’m I not free yet? Something not adding up.

Hang in there, often when we try something, it becomes and effort that keeps us in struggle, this can be really confusing.
