The first HBCU band I ever saw. This performance was my first encounter. My high school band won 1st place in the parade that morning. They blew my mind and I have been in love with HBCU bands ever since
Musicianship perfection, this is the best rendition by a marching band of this song anywhere in the world. You can here each section and they all blowing. You don’t here the percussions banging like most bands do in concert formation, they all sticking and the cymbals flicking to the music, ( good job too my fellow bro. with them cymbals). Flag Corp on point too. Even if I was in another band I would have to tip my hat to the Maestro of all marching bands, Dr. William P. Foster. Shout out to the best staff anywhere also. In 74 it was Prof. White, Bing, Sarge, and James. Then they all got there Doctor’s degrees. HUBBA DOC, 100 Forever.
@@noisssyyy6938 ya see the thing about famu, isnt just that they DO have skill, they have emotions and they are one of the best bands I've ever known that can put that emotion into their instrument. And its consistent too.
Maurice Brown He was my Band Director at Miami Carol City and was inspirational on me attending FAMU and Became a whale in 9tre O SO SWEET!!!! He is a beast
WOW my Neo Year in the 100. Those were the gold old day. Hubba Doctor Foster, Doctor White, Doctor James, Prof Bing, Prof Sarjeant. Hubba 100 you are still the best! The 100 is like Micheal Jordan "Everyone wants to be like us". Torrance Fall 87 Z Phiiii 28 " Death Row" (Snare Line For Those Who Don't Know) Miami Fl now in the ATL.
Why, I think it would be embarrassing, even this one clip in concert formation says it all. If you’re thinking jsu’s performance was anything close to this you otta your mind.
@@pulladunn9798I guess the CCC committee must have been out of their minds as well since they invited JSU back again the following year and not y'all big BORING asses huh?
Charlie Harris if you have 480 and I have 220 you do have to stretch out hard you just have to be! Ok ( many can never beat plenty ! ) coming from a 88 JUKEBOX TUBA PLAYER we saw 36 TUBAS we ONLY had 20 fglass no contest ! . A symphonic orchestra 4x will always win they have no room to March or DRILL and if so many have to stay @ certain sections to visually give the illusion of drilling ...trust me we were looking at sections and seeing it with our own eyes. BUT think what if DOC GREGGS HAD THAT MANY IN THE HUMAN JUKEBOX .....GAME OVER! AND EVERYONE KNOWS THAT
Correction he did not die because of hazing. He was an upperclassman and drum major. This was something he volunteered for to let those guys beat him not a formal part of the training in the 100 even in the '70s, '80s, or '90s. This is coming from me who went through to be in that number. Sounds of Thunder/ Trombones Freshman Section Leader 86/ Otis. Whompin, Humpin, and Stompin!
