I appreciate the fact she says it was unbelievable that the Garp could travel 80km a day. It means it is historically true and not semi mythical. Many people can do that distance nowadays, any semi decent marathon enthusiast can probably complete task but to do that without proper road and modern footwear, deep in mountainous thickets is definitely a godly feat in any day and age.
id believe if the garp hiked a tall bhutanese mountain in a day or two vertically up then paraglided to his location in a few hours tranversing his destination, and hundreds of miles

I have been through Bhutan and it is country full of life and beauty, but also sad issues. Coincidentally, British born I spent most of my early years in India, and became a Buddhist. Or shall I say I practice Buddhism. To see Buddhist practices in varying countries will bring great knowledge and hopefully you can make it someday.
It would have been good if the BBC had shown the actual road map of what the trail looks like instead of this straight line graphic with symbols for different locations.
I have trekked through Bhutan, and most of the trails are winding and only a few hikers to be seen. Unlike the Camino and other treks around the world, the villages along the route are incredibly small. It is worth the trip, but do understand it is less populated than most countries with these trails.
This trail is only for Bhutanese, Indians and Bangladeshi citizens. Anyone outside those countries, you can’t trek anywhere you want. You have to have a guide like the ones in North Korea for you to visit the country.

I have threw hiked all over this planet and began doing segments of the spice trade routes as a teenager. I’ve completed possibly 80% of the treks from Southeast Asia through the “stan’s” and then ending in Ukraine or Turkey. Travel is the best education ever!
To make this a news story, I wish the BBC had asked questions like, have there been plans made to keep international tourists from destroying parts of the trail by overuse, excessive consumption etc. For example are there quotas or limits to how many can be on sections at once? Will we be helping the economy by booking trips or is it something that only rich travellers who hire guided tours can do. I am excited to hike this trail but I wish there was more information in this otherwise beautiful video.
I strongly advise everyone against self trading, it's really dangerous and had brought so many investors down, you nee d someone with the knowledge and strategies, someone dedicated to the crypto currency market business.
I've been tp Bhutan end of February. It was wonderful and Tigers Nest was a highlight for sure. I'm just a bit worried for this trail as the money to enter Bhutan is very high. Paying 400 dollars a day is a lot of money for anyone.
A lovely country I dreamt of to visit , but I cant do trek for lengths and hours. Maybe on its villages can be reach by vehicles. The preservation of nature as its ones of its priority attracts me , and its culture of simple life not so tempted with materialistic and consumerism lifestyle.
This trail is very cool but I definitely wouldn't called 80km an "unbelievably inhuman distance". We have something called "the death race" here in Canada which is 125km in 24 hours. So while 80km is impressive it really isn't that unbelievable. In fact I did the Berg lake trail here in Canada in like 12 hours, which is 42km and I wasn't even in good shape at the time.

I'm just saying that unbelievably inhuman distance is very strong wording considering no one is gifted with supernatural ability. If he did this, it means others can too, and therefore it's not unbelievably inhuman lol. I dislike strong language like this in regards to legends with no proof. It's how intelligent people are fooled into believing things that aren't true. All religions in the world have these kinds of stories and very poor evidence to support the claims.

I am Bhutanese Hindu. We are denied citizenship ID of Bhutan Despite living in Bhutan for centuries. My grandfather had citizenship id but ours was forcefully taken away by the army of king and officers so that we can't vote and influence. Our culture is regarded as a threat to Bhutan culture by the government.
BBC got no time for news on Bhutan ethnic cleansing of Hindus, Bhutanese refugee camps, political prisoners but has all the time for Bhutan PR. it is because the victims are Hindus. They can’t show suffering of hindus, it goes against their agenda

I read that migrating tigers from Burma and Ahom infested this part of Bhutan and accounted for several human victims in the 18th and early part of the 19th century …very sad ..anyway it’s good to hike this trail before the communist Han Chinese infiltrate and claim the trail as theirs

It’s a very interesting historical trans Bhutan trails to discover.
