Hello, My name is Mangala Sharma, I am a Bhutanese American. I was glad to see my Country of Birth highlighted by CBS -60 minutes last week. I watched with pride as well as sadness. Proud, I agree with everyone in the comment that it is a beautiful Country, but felt very sad because such prestigious media surprisingly did not mention about the history behind that currently empty land where the elephants were roaming. .Gelephu, the home of the Future Mindfulness City was the second most populated district in South Bhutan. We should know that 33 years ago, about 40,000 people including my family, were uprooted from that area, many of them were tortured in prisons, girls were raped, people's houses were burnt down and were forcefully evicted . Their land were taken by the Government of Bhutan. We lived in refugee camps in Nepal for over 20 years and now majority of us are resettled in the USA. I would like to request CBS 60s and other media to help us to tell our part of the story .

Most of the people relocated in America as " Refugee from Bhutan " are actually rich Nepalese people who paid crores of Rupees to Tek Nath Rizal and members of previous Nepalese Government to be legally settled there under refugee status. The current Government of Nepal arrested Tek Nath Rizal and party for this scam of making millions. Google fake Bhutanese refugee racket in Nepal for more information. These people managed to gaslight America🤣, UNHCR 🤣, Nepal and Bhutan. Some illegal Nepalese settlers ( causing terror activities ) in Bhutan were expelled and they went back to Nepal. These people were kept in Refugee camps in Nepal and also encouraged other economic challenged Nepalese people living around the borders of Bhutan, in India, to enrol in Refugee camps with the promise of free rations, grants and relocation to America in order to boost the refugee numbers. That was a Boon these poor people couldn't refuse. All they had to do was claim they were tortured and chased away from Bhutan. In the refugee camps they were kept in miserable conditions for many years despite the grants from abroad and displayed to foreign media for further grants. In the refugee camp their job was to give interview to international medias about how they were brutally treated, raped, ethnically cleansed, etc, etc, by Bhutan. Those who can manage to cook up horrifying Bhutan incidents were given more privilege and paraded around whenever foreign medias happen to visit the camp. Once in America they dressed up in Bhutanese cloths and learnt to speak gibberish Dzongkha in order to appear more Bhutanese😂, which they refused to do so while supposedly living in Bhutan. It is also quite amazing how they managed to get their hands on posters of Bhutan's King and past it on their walls at background while giving video interviews, instantly becoming more patriotic than the real citizens in Bhutan. One wonders Hollywood should take acting lesson from them. 😂😂

Damn I loved the idea of Dam. It comes really handy during the moonsoon season in Asia. Considering a high ratio of rainfall.
I love archery 🏹 Glad to hear that it's the national sports of Bhutan. Lots of love and prayer from Pakistan 🇵🇰

Many people around the globe are still unknown about the southern Bhutanese. We are forcefully compelled to left Bhutan by the Government of Bhutan. Although media doesn't cover up this things, but still we are the living witness.

60 Minutes has an article in CBS news about Lesley Stahl and it mentioned the Bhutan king imposed democracy on its citizens even though the people don't want it. Let me give you some background information. In 1975 India annexed Sikkim, a country very similar to Bhutan but is smaller. India worked for years to gobbled up Sikkim. Finally in 1975 it agitated a vote in Sikkim where people were given a choice to vote for democracy or to vote for monarchy. The people voted for democracy. India used it as a pretext to gobble up Sikkim. The Bhutan king imposed democracy on its people is a preemptive move to prevent India from doing something similar to Bhutan. It is better to lose power than to lose your country. This the story of Bhutan's democracy. The biggest concern of the Bhutanese is that their country is not gobbled up by India like what India did to Sikkim.

India in fluxed large numbers of Nepalese people in Sikkim. Those Nepalese people overtook the native Bhutias of Sikkim as dominant race ethnically. Then these Nepalese people voted out the Sikkimese Monarch in favour of India. That is how India gobbled up Sikkim. In Bhutan similar plot was acted upon by Nepalese people by illegally migrating into southern fertile lands. These Nepalese speaking people had immense success in Sikkim, and later on in Darjeeling and Kalimpong but in Bhutan their plot couldn't succeed.
