  • Setting up an I2C card in an Amiga so I can keep track of the voltages and temperatures while the machine is running.
The PCB and some of the software I'm using are available here: gitlab.com/HenrykRichter/cpldicy

Browsing Amiga stuff => blown away 24h/7!!! 😮😮
Amiga makes everything possible. The HW + OS is flexible like rubber!

Hello Wrangler. You are using the wrong config file. LTC2990 does NOT control the external sensor on header "Temp 1". The temperatures you are seeing are wrong. You should be using the MAX31760 config file. You will get 2 Temperatures: the first is the chip itself (the CPLDICY board so to speak) and the second one is the external sensor (Transistor based). If the external sensor is not connected or the wrong way around, the second temperature will say 0.0. When connected correctly, it will show a temperature. The sensors do require tuning to show the correct temperature though. They can deviate quite a lot from the real temperatures. Calibrate them both with a good temperaturesensor and adjust the MUL (multiplier) parameter for each sensor. The defaults are MUL = 0.125 but in my case, I needed to change that to 0.112 (internal) and 0.136 (external) to get both sensors to display a temperature that is accurate to 0.5 degrees Celsius. After editing the config file, reboot to make it take effect as the config file get's read once during startup.
Tip: SimpleSensors always misses a few sensors (value = 0 ) when it is first run. The second, third, fourth, fifth etc. time it is run, it shows all (as this video also shows at 16:49). Therefore, simply run the SimpleSensors command in your User-Startup once (to >nil:) so that when you run SimpleSensors or Sensei etc. yourself, it will show everything (because it is the second time it runs).
Testing an external temp.sensor (like one of those transistor-based ones, shown in the video), put heat on it. Hold it in your fingertips and the temperature should rise (and drop accordingly when removing the heat-source).

Hello Wrangler! Great wideo as always. Can You tell me where I can find this A3000 icon visible on your desktop?

Thanks. The icon is part of AOS 3.9, along with icons for all the Amigas.

Well, as I said in the video, you can look on ebay or join a1k.org and ask on there. Or build one yourself if you have the skills!

I've seen an I2C sound card. I've also seen an Clockport->I2C card. Do you think it would be possible to get it working using this method?

Clockport->I2C->soundcard? I can see it working electrically. The question is, do you have the software drivers for the soundcard?

Very frustrating that the only devices available for the clockport are clockport multipliers. Im not sure what else people plug into them. Market place for clockport soudcards imho
