Very clever, but the entire room covered in that tile is too stark for me. I would have gotten rid of all but the tiles around the shower and painted the walls a soothing mint green. Also, wood-looking ceramic floor tiles would make the room less harsh.
Covering the window was a poor choice. Reduced the natural light and made a very heavy visual glob of black that your eye goes directly to. Also, the floor tile is fighting with the beautiful wall tile. Should have been painted.
I think the bathroom is horrible hate the black, a bright light bathroom to dark and dingy. The only things I like are the orchids. If that was my bathroom as soon as she had left, I would have the paint out. Just awful in my opinion, thats my first reaction on seeing the completed bathroom.
You haven't turned it Japanese if you're painting over stained wood. In all Japanese homes they have unpainted wood elements. I'm disappointed. Other than that I do like the design and the changes
