It was pretty interesting this morning that there was so little direction offered to confused passengers. We ended up helping a couple of different groups today find their way out of the busport and down to Elizabeth Quay, and later from the train station back to the Busport.
So today they were supposed to be installing new signalling at Perth station platforms 7 & 8 as part of the 15TPH project and connect up the power for the Ellenbrook line at Bayswater so they begin driver training but something’s obviously gone wrong somewhere
Midland/Airport closed for Morley-Ellenbrook. Reasonable. Leederville - EQ closed for a disruption?! Good thing EQ is close to Underground. Freo’s just closed. There’s tons of buses to Freo so it’s fine-ish Don’t worry about Vic Park closure. It’s mostly closed anyways. I’m sure it’s fine on Vic Park Line.
Not really edited just put all my clips together and published lol. But yeah I wanted to get it done while it was still relevant and not deal with it tomorrow having exams at the moment.
@@williamp88 Oh oops I didn't actually check the footage I was just in a rush to quickly publish the video cause I don't really have time for it right now. Guess my exposure was locked on the dark environment so then that happened.
@@TransportofPerth yes its annoying but luckilly they do replace the services with buses. As part of Cross River Rail they are replacing our aging signalling system with ETCS network wide so they need to close the network at times to do this work. Much of the current signaling system dates as far back as the late 70s when electrification started, so its badly overdue and the new system will allow trains to run closer together and boost frequencies. Also a lot of stations are currently closed due to major rebuilds and level crossing removals are in the works. They do the works on school holidays because generally the system tends to be a bit more quiet during the holiday season and because the Unions would do their nut if they had to do the work overnight,
No unfortunately the Green CAT doesn't run on weekends and it would have been the perfect train replacement between Leederville and Elizabeth Quay where the trains were running here.

I was pretty confused this morning, too. I did get directions from Perth Station to Elizabeth Quay Station from a TransPerth staff, though
8:14 sounds like one of the locals

@@top40researcher31 It's normal narrow gauge.

Hey what's going on with transperth
There is tones of track repairs and the Ellenbrook line
I saw a C series on Midland/airport line the other day
@@BusesTrainsandbubbletea Yes they always test new trains between High Wycombe and Fremantle.

No trains at Perth?!
No trains in the CBD. In Brisbane thats like every school holidays. But our reason is more to do with construction for cross river rail
@@electro_sykes Oh wow that's really bad.

I bet it's a fun day at Transperth
Couldn’t you have taken the Green CAT toward the city, then swapped for the Yellow CAT at Harold Boas? Rather than wait for a train replacement bus

Trains terminating at Leederville just like the Perth City Link days
