Man, we are so lucky to have true soul brothers like Ron Isley and Al Green around that are still doing gigs and STILL have that incredible sound in their vocals that we grew with as kids listening to them...
This is a GREAT Performance! From the band To Mr. Isley ! Mr Bacharach is looking (watch his face) like he wrote this song for it to be performed this way!
Burt Bacharach AND Ronald Isley?! How ingenious! I just found this; so now I will listen to the rest of the concert. Thank you for posting. Though Ronald Isley's stylings are inimitable, Burt's melodies are so inherently beautiful that they need no ornamentation. Of course, I already know how the songs go. Burt's melodies are like a signature: You know it's his song the first time you hear it.
this is Ron Isley's interpretation of this song, putting Ron Isley on a classic ~ it's fantastic! And Burt hired Ron, knowing who Ron was and how he would sound, and that's what Burt wanted on this song ~ Burt, the expert, the great songwriter made an amazing choice........this is delicious!
@@richardspain8973 This is what I can't understand about some of the people posting. They can't get it that it's Ron's interpretation of the song, which is great.
One of my favorite singers, and 1 Of my favorite songwriters together doing their rendition of the classic song, wow, I stumbled onto this by chance You Tube is the best
I've always loved this song through the years analogy have heard Ronald Isley do it I had to find it and listen to it in its entirety just beautiful thank you again Mr Isley you've done it again.
I do enjoy your singing and also being cool and on shows you were on when your singing makes me melt I do loved you to as a friend my name is Lynn Michelle fletcher I am now 41 years old and you are my biggest fan of all you are so nice to me right
Alan30189...what do mean..these guys? I detect a bit of...well anyways I agree with Jay Mac... Ronald I. is expressing the words in a beautiful way and obviously the man who wrote it approves or he wouldn't have had him on the stage. That's the cool thing about art...its flows and changes and can capture many thoughts and emotions. Its true expressive freedom and every time its played it should never be exactly the same way. I'm sure Burt changes his stuff constantly to gain new insight.
I beg to differ! There's nobody like Ron Isley. He's so versatile and within one song he mixes different styles seamlessly and gives this song emotional depth while at the same time giving it a light jazz flair. Andy Williams is cool but Ron Isley can go places Andy can't.
Ron, you are right. I think that it's important to give both artists credit. Andy was a great singer. There styles and how they approach songs are different. Ron approaches songs more soulfully.
@Dogghouse531 Yeah, nah, its not really soul, dude. Its jazz-influenced pop. Pop is short for popular, generally meaning in a broad musicological sense any music that is not historically culturally "elitest" ie jazz or classical. So, whatever you want to call this semantically, its still pop.
Direction on the Band is lacking here... they're playing like machines, even off at times.. Ron is amazing as usual but to bad he didn't have Herb Albert's Tijuana Brass here!!!
Our class song was set to the music of this song. And Ron Isley singing/sound is one of the best.
Thanks for so much beautiful music and for making this tragic world a better place.........you'll be missed! RIP Burt!
A true GIANT IN THE MUSIC WORLD! What A genius!
It’s 2020 this man is 79 years old and looking like this.

Burt re-arranged the song to fit Ronald. Genius, as usual!
Ok. I loved this. Burt rearranged it for Ron and he did it Justice 🎉
Perfect tune for Ron, killed it!!!

I caught this on PBS when it first aired masterfully done then, sounds even better now. Miss ya BB
I'm in love with this duo! Burt has always been my favorite and Mr. Bigg...who knew!??? This entire concert is over-the-top awesome!

They will.
HE MADE ALL BURT'S SONG LOVE BALLADS AND WITH A ORCHESTRA, IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL AND NICE.
Beautiful rendition and strings section keeping perfect measure with enchanting accompaniment.
One of my favorite singers, and 1 Of my favorite songwriters together doing their rendition of the classic song, wow, I stumbled onto this by chance You Tube is the best
Flashback of the 60's! I was watching on a black and white TV. My Dad telling me to move the antenna to the right! Did I mention The Ed Sullivan Show?
GREAT SONG
I've always loved this song through the years analogy have heard Ronald Isley do it I had to find it and listen to it in its entirety just beautiful thank you again Mr Isley you've done it again.
Absolutely beautiful.......a must listen.
I do enjoy your singing and also being cool and on shows you were on when your singing makes me melt I do loved you to as a friend my name is Lynn Michelle fletcher I am now 41 years old and you are my biggest fan of all you are so nice to me right
That effortless tenor voice just soars - no back-up singers required!
Terrifically done by Burt and big Ron!
OUTSTANDING !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great song, great singer
Awesomeness...and perfection with a soulful touch
When I listen to this, I feel the way I feel when I'm in love even though I'm not! Wonderful
Ron being Ron, baby. Totally. Two awesome talents.
one word Heavenly
Wonderful, fantastic! I’m breathless! Heloisa, from Brazil.
First time hearing this......love it!!
Very nicely done.... and hard to do. Big shoes to fill for sure but Mr. Isley did an amazing job 💙
What a voice!!! ♥️
Classical song original of Herb Alpert. I love it .

Superb
WELL DAMN!!!
HELLO!
True!
Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@vdeferens its called soul and this is live
😊
che stile …!!
It's more the way he was singing than the way Burt was playing.
I beg to differ! There's nobody like Ron Isley. He's so versatile and within one song he mixes different styles seamlessly and gives this song emotional depth while at the same time giving it a light jazz flair. Andy Williams is cool but Ron Isley can go places Andy can't.
So Well Said!!! Great Comment! Thank you.

❤
Isley and Jimmy in early 60.
It's too late, now comes 1984 in Real. 😅 No Future 4 You. 🤣
I like this soulful version but Sammy's jazz version is more to my liking. Ronald is a master unto himself. Praise be Brother!
nice
Burt cant sing, but can pen a song and cobo richly Ronald Islwy
The sixtees the best
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/20/22
Perhaps Burt's just tired of playing 9,999 times the same way since 1960-something.
0.03 Intro.....
My gawd Ron Isley's talented at his soulful approach. Not best version of this song, for me, but wow he's good.
bllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
He has a really great voice but i prefer the more simple versions of this song i grew up listening to Herb Alphert singing this
Did Luther Vandross ever do a cover of this?
OWWWWW! Stop it already!
Ron looks like the father from the movie Friday, with Ice Cube.

Why do you have to shout???
