Rush, I am very happy to see that this long overdue and much needed rehabilitation work has finally begun. Successive administrations had previously announced grandiose plans, but nothing was actually implemented. This is a much scaled down version of the original plan, but nonetheless well appreciated. St. Thomas has long been referred to as the "forgotten parish" but now the residents finally have something to smile about.
Hey Rush thanks for highlighting my parish. That's where I was born and raised. Everything and every where you show are familiar territory . Very beautiful parish but also one of the most neglected so its really a joy to see that we are finally being remembered and some life is about to be injected in my very beautiful but also very neglected parish. Very little has changed since I left there some thirty odd years ago. Again very pleased to see what's happening and do hope that the parish will see better days and we can say we are no longer forgotten. By the way miss word is my friends daughter we are from the same district and grew up together. Very proud of his daughter's achievement. Great work.👍

I went their as a child on church picnic traveling from Kingston. It was so awesome but honestly the factory had closed down long time before I went there. That was in the 90's.
The sky is so beautiful. I miss this about Jamaica. Up North, the sky is grey a lot. Appreciate what you have and where you are. "Grow where you are planted".

I keep reading the common narrative,”St. Thomas the forgotten parish” part of the blame must be with the electorate that keep electing none performing representatives! Jamaica is too far behind infrastructure wise to countries like The Bahamas and Trinidad for us to keep electing the same ole dead weight none performing MP’s! The electorate must teach every and any MP who has failed to deliver for them. Time we stop electing parties,personalities and traditions instead of performers. Party over progress is developmental suicide! Results matter people!

I like the terrain of the parish. The area near the waterfront that is eroding is magnificently beautiful. If some developer with a lot of money gets their hands on that piece of land and develop it to its fullest potential, that would be amazing but unfortunate for the people. Why hasn't Butch Stewart done more to develop the island? All he does is build hotels all over the Caribbean. So, unfortunate, he doesn't love Jamaica. He just wants to reap its resources.
Why focus on Butch Stewart, he is just one man. I'm sure there are other jamaican investors to look forward to...and even other Jamaicans especially those abroad earning the strong US can also become pooled investors.
Give us an update on the east-west leg of highway 2000 (May Pen to Williamsfield segment.....heard that work has now started on that project. But good look for St. Thomas so far.
I think it should have been built in mandeville or may pen or Spanish town areas. I have never been anywhere east of Kingston. So I cant say much . I was expecting them to continue a huge highway thru st thomas. Happy to see that area although I'm not familiar at all.

Ricardo Davis: It as nothing to do with union why it close. It's because of Jamaica tyre shop importing tyre cheaper than Goodyear can manufacture it. Just like Jamaica steel in St. Catherine!! Tank weld was selling steel cheaper than the steel manufacturer so that steel plant close down too.

It's about time they do something to improved the infrastructure of the parish.The roads are none existence from Morant bay to Seaforth it is all full of pat holes and the surrounding districts also.
