      He says those nonsense because Kamui sponsors him. Deflection has nothing to do with either the tip hardness or the type of chalk. The miscue and spin part he mentioned are proven wrong too. Comparing to Dr. Dave, I would rather believe Dr. Dave, simply because Dr. Dave's theories are based on science and experiments.

      @@nakkadu i think florian means the deflection is less because the spin and swerve of the ball back in line can be considered as deflecting less ofc this effect depends on speed of shot, amount of spin and length white travels before contact, as kamui chalk produces more grip and spin the ball is more inclined to swerve back in line ..ie less deflection

      You will get more spin, but you have to be much more accurate and precise on the shots. Let's just say it's much more finicky. For example, I play around sometimes and shoot a bunch of regular shots with my jump cue which has a very hard tip that is 14mm. I swear I reduce my misses by 50%. I tried a smaller shaft and it was really tough to run several balls, but when I got dialed in I was doing things I normally couldn't. But it would take me at least 30 minutes each day to get dialed in. A friend was interested in buying it, so I sold it to him.

    I'm a high lvl carom player, and I use a medium kamui tip. I like the feeling of pure contact without the "pillow"-effect. I never misscue though. Are carom tips different than pooltips or is it because of the difference in the balls?

    • @VenomTrickshotsOfficial
      @VenomTrickshotsOfficial  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      GJ Billiards wow that's actually pretty rare usually carom players love to grip the ball more to put more spin (at least from what I know but I'm just average carom player) usually the harder tip are for people who play with too much spin to force them to not use as much. I would have thought soft would be perfect tip for carom but like o said it's all subjective. If you like medium then keep medium :)

  • @TimZ007
    @TimZ007 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    On a side note. The harder tip gives you more power which means you can hit less off center and get the same spin, but less deflection. Counter inuitive yes but why do most pro players use a hard tip. More consistant. The Kamui does play a bit harder for a soft tip than others though. So it is sort of apples to oranges comparison. I would play with the hardest tip that your not miscueing with. The tip lasts much longer and your play will be more consistant which is what actually counts not making a low percentage super spin move shot. You would be suprised you well one can play with a phenalic break tip if you have a nice strait stroke. Downside of a hard tip is you must hit the ball with a certain speed. Say 3 out of 10. Any slower if your not near the middle of the cue ball you may miscue. On rail shots you may have to use some downward pressure and elevate to keep from miscueing. The trade off in play is worth the added consistancy . imoi.

      No, Kamui SS tip does not "play harder" as you said. Kamui SS is the softest rated tip. Go search online for : 'cue tip hardness chart' and you will see that Kamui SS = rated the softest out of all of them

    How did you deal with people telling you your playstyle was wrong as you were growing your game? I find that a lot of people tell me to stop doing this or that instead of how to do it better. For example, I tend to use spin on most shots because I don't have to hit as hard for position. I would like to think I'm an above average player as I can run out and I very rarely miss as long as my headspace is clear. But, when I do miss, people come over and they blame the spin, failing to see all my previous successes. They'll say things like "Only shoot center," "Dont hit hard," or "the cue needs to stay in the center of the table."
    I personally approach every shot differently. Some center, some spin, some soft stroke, some hard, and even sometimes i'll jab at the cue instead of follow through because I understand the different physics.
    My only weak point is defensive play because I'm an offensive powerhouse and a creative pool player and I try to make my matches visually artistic. It just seems like people are trying to dumb my game down when I'm trying to make the competitive aspect of it more engrossing and exciting. It gets discouraging sometimes. Idk if people are afraid of me or what. I've only been at this for a year and am beating 7s in APA and people who have playing 10-20+ years.
    I guess my true question is, how should I approach receiving advice and help when most of it seems like it'll change who I am as a pool player, and not for the better?

Not a trick shot artist, but a regulation player that uses a lot of spin and creative shotmaking, similar to Efren, but I had the natural talent for it before I even knew he existed. • @SpaceboyBilliards
      @SpaceboyBilliards 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      bluecollarways blackman Yeah I'm always doing stroke exercises. I even stroke with a ten pound weight and I can keep it straight with my right arm but not my left yet. I definitely need more commitment on drills. I do them every so often but they're boring to me. What do you mean by boarder exercises?
      I did make up this one drill that's pretty difficult. It's meant for stroke precision and speed accuracy. Freeze two balls with one hanging over the edge of the corner pocket. Place a ball on the short rail at the other end of the table and try to freeze that ball to the two frozen ones without knocking the first ball in. Keep doing that until you stack all 15. You can hit rail first to lose velocity. Took me about an hour to complete.

    Tip Diameter?

    I disagree. I play with a triangle tip. Which is a hard tip. And I play all over the cue ball. As long as you have a level stroke and chulk up every time. You can hit anywhere on the cue. I to prove my point constantly place my tip on the felt right before the cue and strike it that low. And I don't muscle. Biggest difference is speed control. Tiangles really spin the ball to. But the super soft are probably a little more spin but I doubt they get much more action. At least not for me. He'll I can soft draw 16 feet if I'm within 4 feet of the object ball.

    Doesn't this player represent Kamui? Doesn't Kamui pay him for his endorsement? I'm supposed to consider this to be reliable advice? This is advertising.

      Also this is mainly about the hardness of the tip not necessarily the brand

    DO NOT get Kamui chalk. It's the worst possible chalk out there. It should be banned really. it sticks to the cue ball like crazy and it makes the table unbelievably dirty. Seriously, it is a mess. Their tips are good, but the chalk is horrible.

      Their tip was too bouncy for me but roku chalk is the best the other two they have are SO SO BAD

    This is more of an advertising video than anything else. Kamui doesn't make bad Tips, mind you, but beware when a Kamui sponsored man talks of Kamui tip being the best on the market...

    "Kamui chalk reduces deflection?!". Get out of here. How much did Kamui pay you to say that. Yeah I get way more deflection with my revo when I use Master or Blue Diamond chalk lmao.

    I disagree. A hard tip imparts more spin.I asked Dr Cue Tom Rossman. He said a hard tip is less forgiving and will result in more miscues. I'm kind of shocked you would say that?
