Guys can you PLEASSSEEEE do a video for the Prince of Egypt medley?! It’s life changing. The whole new album is unreal and I’m so glad to have you guys back!
@@JanezWorld1 They have a Prince of Egypt medley. Look for it and I'm sure you'll find it. In fact it's the up next video for me while watching this. SO GOOD!
My mom passed two months ago. She loved the songs from Coco and would sing them with me all time. Listening to this definitely brought a few tears to my eyes, but in a good way. Thank you, voctave, for another masterful cover. And to my mom... I'll always remember you, mom. I'll remember how you used to dance and sing. How you held me when I was sad. How you laughed. I love you so much and miss you every day. Until I'm in your arms again, mom. I love you.
I'm sorry for your lose. My mom passed away two years ago. You'll always miss her. It does get easier to live on if you take time to appreciate every joyful memory.
I’m positive your mom smiles everyday knowing she could share those songs with you and that they were and will always be filled with love. Sending blessings your way
Extremely hard listening to this. I lost my father a few years after this movie came out. Went to the theaters to watch this with my family for my little sisters birthday. I wasn’t excited not knowing what the movie was about. Walked out with the entire family including myself balling our eyes out. Us being a part of the latin community and my father being a guitar player his whole life we felt this on a personal level. To have one more opportunity to see him and hear his beautiful voice sing while he plays the guitar is my one wish in life. I fought back the tears listening to this amazing rendition. Thank you for this and my heart goes out to ANYONE that had lost someone they love. Never forget.
Is this the most beautiful thing I've heard today? Yes. Am I bawling like a child? Yes. Will I listen to this on repeat for at least forever? Yes. If you excuse me now, I need a tissue.
Lyrics for the spanish part at the end Recuerdame Hoy me tengo que ir mi amor Recuerdame No llores por favor Te llevo en mi corazon y cerca me tendras A solas yo te cantare sonando en regresar Recuerdame Aunque tenga que emigrar Recuerdame Si mi guitarra oyes llorar Ella con su triste canto te acompanara Hasta que en mis brazos tu estes Remember me Remember me Recuerdame
I like that you did both versions: the upbeat one and the slower sad one. It's so brilliant that one song can convey two very different moods like that!
Mariachi Cobre played at my wedding reception in 1990. They have only gotten better. Steve and Randy Carrillo and the rest of the group are just great guys.
same! 2nd generation. and i always remember my great grandma and wish i could have seen her in her youth.. all the stories were intimidating but it was her and i could tell she had that fight until for most of her older life... almost made it to 100!
I have listened to this at least 30x on loop while working. It is so indescribably beautiful! Tugs at your heartstrings, packs a punch of nostalgia, and somehow fuses classic mariachi + classic choir sounds, filling your soul to the absolute brim. Some of my favourite moments: 0:03 - the first 'Remember Me'; such a rich and classic timbre! 1:04 - when the Voctave women come in; the transition is seamless and breathtaking in its control. 1:42 - gorgeous bass note. 1:56 - when the choir momentarily kicks in, before holding back, and then... 2:02 - the soloist (Drew Ochoa) crescendos into this high note so yearning and pleading, it sends a river of some crazy emotion rushing through you. 2:11 - super emotional and quiet 'Remember me'. I also love the collaborative symbolism here; Mariachi Cobre sang 'Remember me' in English at the start; Voctave comes in next with the Spanish 'Recuerdame'. 2:37 - cheeky little contrast between the military pose of the guy in white and expressiveness of the guy in blue! 2:42 - it's absolutely out of this world when the full studio comes together. 3:25 - that final "Recuerdame" is absolutely chilling and invokes the iconic Mama Coco scene (which will go down in the history of animation as one of the best ever). 3:30 - the expression of focus on Drew's face which tells you just how much they're controlling that final note. What a gift this is. Voctave (and the genius of Jamey Ray) makes this world a whole lot more joyous to live in.
I agree. It is hard to stop listening to this magnificent piece of artistry. Truly an out of this world heavenly sound. God his richly blessed each one of these performers with incredible talent and they in turn have blessed us by sharing it together.
2:42 the "Recuérdame" chords give me goosebumps all the time :') the blend is incredible! Love their bright and clear sound. Such a skillful contrast compared to 2:32 where they started with a more tender and warm colour.
Absolutely love the blending of these amazing voices accompanied by the mariachi instruments! What great style contrasts, transitions, and such a beautiful ending to the beautiful "Remember Me"! Bravo, Voctave and guests! Bravo!!
Wow, what a great pairing! Mariachi Cobre is no stranger to us in New Mexico. We love their music. We love Voctave's music. I really love it when these caliber of talent can be mixed. Oh, to get them to Las Cruces! Surely, we could pack the Pan Am center. Now, Voctave and Perpetuum Jazzilie together! What a mind blower that could be! Difficult logistically though. Slovenia is home for PJ. I guess a guy can dream ~~ Love to all ~
Thank you for singing in both Spanish and English. This song is so beautiful in both languages; I love the combination of them in this arrangement. I also love the inclusion of both tempos. Well done!
I've listened to this at least 100 times since my father passed and I cannot get over the sheer beauty of the solos and group work. The solo work at 1:09 is just breathtakingly perfect to me. Not only does Voctave just nail everything, Mariachi Cobre is flat out impressive. This rendition, by far, is the best on TH-cam and anywhere. Thanks to all performers for this one!
Amazing arrangement as always. Also woah, didn't expect to see Drew Ochoa here. His voice and singing skills reignited my love for music in 2011 after seeing Prestige get 1st place singing "Swanee".
Beautiful song to remind me of my love, who has departed into that Far Country. He had to say goodbye, but I didn’t let it make me cry, because I knew he held me in his heart, and we will meet again. ❤️
I'm with you! I'm so lucky: They're scheduled to perform in my town on Dec 13th, and I get to go. Front effing row. I'm overnight the moon with anticipation.
This song is my absolute favorite! This movie came out a year after my grandma passed and this song always makes me cry because it’s so beautiful. This is amazing thank you for singing this song and for adding the Spanish verses ❤️
This is one of my most favorite of Voctaves songs...thank you for posting it. My mom passed the day after Mother's day in 2015...my dad passed 4 months later. Today I was doing spring cleaning on the fireplace. I had Voctave playing from TH-cam playing on the t.v.. As I was removing photos from the mantel to clean it, right at the 1:10 moment, I looked up and took my Mom's photo and had forgotten that my sister had placed a lovely cutting of my mom's grey hair from the day she passed inside the frame next to her face on the photo. I just started bawling my eyes out. I had to stop for about 5 minutes as I stared at her and the other photos of my folks on the mantel. We miss them so much. My folks absolutely loved Christmas and I am positive they would have adored Voctave and their lovely and peaceful versions of their favorite Christmas songs.
The BASS writing in and around 1:29! Jeremy's a genius. As unreal as the voices are in this group, Voctave is his instrument and he plays it as a virtuoso. My wife and I heard them in Kansas City last December. I wondered how much a live performance would suffer from not having benefit of editing. They are just as good live as they are in the studio. They demonstrate the magnificence of our Creator and take me where I cannot go on my own.

Hope some day I will have a chance to see you. Thank you all for this song. I lost my love this year and it is so hard to survive without him. I hope one day I will see him again.
I know this is for Day of the Dead, but it hits extra hard with what you both are going through. We will remember you and you'll always be cast members.
These are my friends from Disney World! We have gone almost every year since 2004, and they are who I look forward to the most at EPCOT (my wife does pure Disney) . That was a fantastic collaboration!
Voctave, you’ve done it again. You know all of the songs that touch my heart and then you make them even more beautiful. From “Impossible Dream”, “Notre Dame”, and now Coco “Recuérdame”. Everything you touch is magic. Thank you so much for everything you do.
What a breathtaking and unexpected collaboration! Beautiful mariachi music (instrument’s, vocal’s, harmonies) mixed with Acappela, Disney-like vocals. We didn’t know we needed this it’s beautiful!
Just returned home from a week in WDW. Loved hearing Mariachi Cobre but we so very much miss the Voices of Liberty. I hope to hear you again soon when next we return to the happiest place.
Wow, never watched Coco, never heard this song before, but the arrangement was beautiful and I literally started crying listening to this song and dont know why😅😭
Look if this song made you cry even though you never watched Coco, then this will make you bawl your heart out once you hear it being sung in full context of the story. Go watch the movie, preferably with family because it's a celebration of love and family.
So impressive, Mexican people's ready to receive and remember all the people that have passed away but they're still living in our hearts...well done Voctave, this Mexican les agradece!
Goodness how I've missed these voices !!! Your voices are so full of sound and the incredible talent and array of voices is just JAWDROPPING ! 🧡 the bass is epic Make Them Hear You! Future grinch? 💚🤣
This arrangement is simply mesmerizing. Especially during the 3-part harmonies at 2:31, 2:43, and 2:49, with the strong male choir in between. And 2:03 is the exact moment where I thought, Okay, yes, Drew belongs in Voctave! (Because anytime a group gets new members, there's always that little niggle of fear: will I like the new members? Do they "deserve" to be part of the group? Will it still sound like Voctave? The answer is YES!) The way he soars up to that top note is such a Voctave sound, and he did it so beautifully! Hearing someone sing to their full potential is such a breathtaking experience. And of course, multiply that by ELEVEN and it's obvious what makes Voctave so amazing!
It's impossible not to cry and feel such great emotion when you do magic with your voices becoming feelings into music. Thanks. Greetings from Argentina
Voctave is a national treasure and must be protected at all costs
I think all entertainment positions there should be. They are the biggest part of the magic
They better watch their backs before Nicolas Cage kidnaps them.
bassman I laughed so hard at this! 😂😂😂

protected??! are they in danger?

The man in blue is the conductor, one of the main vocalist, and a trumpet player... What can't he do???
And one of the arrangers!
sing bass?

Okay. Yes I will fully admit I'm crying. Now I have to go watch Coco.

Kate Lott with her hand on her hips at 3:16 hitting the high notes like it was nothing. Her voice is just breathtaking to me.
