Hey man you should definitely play it in your lap not on a tabletop. The vibrations from the drum travel through your body causing immense relaxing/soothing/meditative feels

Have you noticed the 3 feet of the drum? Though I know what you are talking about and I agree, this drum is in deed built with feet to play it on a hard surface, eg. wooden box or table to dramatically increase volume, overtones and resonance.
Older models had no feet, just to note it.

I like your musical instrument videos because they show genuinely how someone with no natural musical talent can approach an instrument and get a sound out of it.

We like watching you do the instruments because most people are beginners or looking to add something to their musical creation or performance arsenal without breaking the bank and you also go into it blindly with tech and specs rather then musician jargon and its simple to follow and everything you do just makes sense and makes us laugh with you and your friends banter. I love your channel and I'm prolly not the only one. 🤘

I came for the musical instrument video. Specifically for the steel drum video. The reason I liked this one is specifically BECAUSE you have no experience with this drum. As a person that isn’t a talented or experienced with steel drums, I will begin with similar knowledge. I think it’s very important for my children to have a rounded balance. I keep musical instruments, academia, learning and entertainment games, craft tools and supplies of all sorts, cooking and science tools around at all times open to the use of my self and kids. I think it’s really important for my kids to see me starting from no knowledge to the path that I gain knowledge in well rounded areas for them to witness by example for their own drive and growth in their lives. I have 5 amazing and rounded children from ages 22-12yrs old that benefit greatly from getting to witness the world from various points of view. I like the unbiased view you give of the instrument. Because you’re not in the industry of playing this instrument it helps me get to make the decision of whether to buy it or not, for myself. We don’t plan on becoming concert or professional steel drum artists, in our family. But, the thing is, you really never know what your kids will be naturally talented at or interested in if they can’t put their hands on it. Watching your video is fun, to the point and light hearted. Showing my kids your video makes it fun for them to imagine how they could enjoy the drum also, and possibly learn skills on how to create beautiful sound with it. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. At any level, knowledge is valuable. I’m grateful you valued yourself enough to share what you do know about it. 😊👍~Sheeara, Alaska

I know I'm late but I love watching your musical unboxing videos because I am a musician and love to collect interesting cheap-ish instruments, and it's actually really informative to see how a beginner would sound on the instrument. Also no one else does what you do, so you're really taking charge of the market of reviewing cheap instruments. Thank you seriously your videos are funny and informative
Although as a musician, sometimes I wish I could scream at you through the screen for doing it wrong

Can you play a xylophone? Song recommendation: heart and soul. Only because it's quite easy to play, think of the notes the same way on a piano with the colour red(if your xylophone is coloured) as the notes C and so on. Xylophones are also very fun to play and they have a nice sound to them

The secret is, it doesn't take any special talent to play an instrument. Anyone who wants to can. It takes time to get through the initial awkwardness, but you can get lots of enjoyment from playing simple things while you learn, and that motivates you to do more. Go take a lesson or something! You can play!
