We failed to get the stone house renovated in time for our first guest, Johns mum, but, not ones to be easily defeated we made another pretty epic plan, and ended up with a beautiful space for her to stay in. We also had a visit from our local planning authorities which could dictate our future, and after some health concerns we take some off and get some help in to lessen the load.

There is nothing so sweet as spending Sunday morning with the Newby clan. The perfect weather you are having, all the forward progress on the house and the abundance of plants working to take it all back to nature. The washstand is just right for the tiny house. Your yard is so very beautiful! You could video a half hour walk through it and I’d play it over and over again for my relaxation time! So lovely! And the Plum tree is gorgeous. So much in this video! First I would like to say a loving hello to John’s mother. She is a lovely woman just as we would expect as she raised a wonderful son. Second, I would like to say that the room you created was warm and welcoming and she obviously loves it, I sure would!
The little stream/ pool is a slice of paradise for sure, a real treasure. The pup is just so amazing, you got the best of the best with his intelligence and loving heart. He will forever be the boys best buddy.

Just wanted to let you know that possibly the plum tree you have is called Prunus cerasifera 'Thundercloud' has stems wreathed in dainty, pink blossoms in early-spring, and its leaves emerge red before darkening to purple, with the color persisting throughout the summer and into the autumn when the leaves fall. The fruit are very sweet and nice

Even though the house wasn't ready for your Mum, John, it wasn't because you didn't try, you did your best to have it ready. How is the composting toilet turning out? The washstand turned out well, and is the perfect companion to the CT. It was good to see your Mum again John, looking healthy and happy. The land looks so beautiful especially after Joao hacked it back. I am so happy the blood tests were clear. Now perhaps, you will learn to listen to your body, and not push yourself so hard? Things take time!!! You two are doing a grand job! Having watched our house-building after two years of designing everything to the inch degree, we forgot to include a very important light switch! Our house is ICF … 14 inches of steel and foam blocks, filled with tons of concrete. Won’t burn and won’t blow away here in Tornado Alley in OK! Anyhow, everything works perfectly, and we are extremely happy. 🥰

Please continue to check the boys and puppy for ticks! We had 3 boys and 2 dogs and woods! Daily tick checks, small jar of soapy water for ticks helps when boys want to do it themselves.

The entire family together, relaxing, enjoying the outdoors, it’s a beautiful thing. It was nice to hear John’s bloodwork revealed no health issues. However, I don’t know which day of the week John takes off from work (manual labor) but if he doesn’t make it a matter of importance his physical health will suffer. It’s just as important to take care of ones’ physical health as it is ones’ mental health. Remember John, this is the body that will take you into your elderly years. Tara, you look fabulous, and doing a wonderful job caring for yourself (Pilates workout) and your family. (Maybe John should do Pilates with you 😂😂) The farm looks amazing, you both have done a great job and should feel very proud. Btw, John’s mom is a cutie! Sending hugs ❤❤❤
