Ohh! Traveling solo could be uncomfortable at first. Yeahh! I've felt that before on my first trips as a solo traveler but it was actually an amazing experience once you get used to it. Now, I've been to a lot of countries as a solo traveler, sharing about my trips on my channel too.
Tho Barcelona doesn't like to think of itself as being Spanish but Catalan (they don't speak Spanish there ) and want independence from Spain - sadly the terrorists are still active.

Oh Nicki, we have the same nights. What I've done though is listen to a good audiobook (with bluetooth earbuds) while I wait the two hours to get back to sleep. It works, I often have to rewind the book because I fell asleep. Try it. This way my brain doesn't go into overdrive to think about everything.
I have the same issue in my 70s. What is going on with us women😢
The same started happening to me about a year ago. I’m almost 40 so I’m assuming it’s hormonal change maybe perimenopause around the corner. I’ve had my period for 27 years at this point
I also do this and am constantly rewinding! However I do wonder if the anticipation of what happens next in the story keeps me awake, as when I’m jolted awake because it’s gone quiet, I can’t get off again.. I’m going to try listening to a sound bath 😊
Taking a tour bus of a new city is an excellent idea to get an overview of the city. We did that at New York city. It was fun.
@anniepurse2831 Same here, @ 77 yrs in New England, except that I usually get up & stay up until I get sleepy again, which may be well into the next day, so I must nap, which cuts into my next day. It's better to go back to bed & at least rest my bones & muscles. 😊
Way to go Nicki for not being afraid to explore Barcelona on your own! It's nice to go exploring in life and have adventures and to be okay with knowing at times you may have to do it alone. Yay for you!

Gotta agree! It just feels overwhelming at first, but it was really worth trying! After traveling solo in various countries, it doesn't feel overwhelming now. Like every other experience, it just needs getting used to. Have you tried travelling solo before? 👀

When we visit a city for the first time we’ve learned to use a bus tour. (Especially if it’s a hop on hop off type). It helps us get our bearings so then we can walk everywhere and know how far things are etc. City maps are often deceiving for walking purposes. Paris is the perfect example of this.

0H MY GOODNESS!!!! I have just realised what an amazing life Rosi and Leni are having. They already speak several languages. Their life in positano is both down to earth with goats and boats but also pituresque on steriods! They travel Europe and get invited to fairy tale weddings and get to play in front of Gualdi's Cathedral. Elizabeth and you nicki get to have girl time away. Positano looks like paradise. Understandable you wanted to move because navigating so many steps are a challenge but it is scenically stunning and people so friendly.

I used to think the HOP ON HOP OFF bus was a dorky idea. But now if I have a few days in a city I have not explored it is a great way to get your bearings and decide what you really want to see and do. Loved the trip to Barcelona. Nic I had to laugh when you said you were alone in Barcelona - all alona in Barcelona. 😂 It kind of fitted to be alone there at that moment. WOW! WOW! WOW! to Eliabeth and the girls in their DIVINE dresses 👗 for the wedding. The three of them in a row doing each other's hair was a magical moment captured on film. Those white umbrellas were just perfect for their outfits!! What a magnificent wedding!! A very blessed couple indeed and the bride looked so regal in her stunning gown against the backdrop of the Castle. Those chandeliers hanging from the trees above the dinner tables was pure theatre and totally exquisite!!! I am an ex Flamenco dancer 💃 and I was hoping you would all go to a Flamenco show in the evening. The girls would love it I think. It's very special to watch authentic Flamenco. Hopefully another visit you can take in a Flamenco show there. Thanxx for another beautiful video on friendship, fashion, (including thrills and spills 😁) food and good fun!

This is my absolute favourite TH-cam channel. Lovely to see Elizabeth and the girls. I loved their matching wedding outfits.

We always consider taking a tour of new places we’ve never been before. It’s so stress free to let them take you around. No transportation or parking worries. It’s more economical than renting a car. No wasted time on maps and directions or getting lost. It is the best way to see the highlights and a lot more than on one’s own. The guides tell you more about what you’re seeing than one would have time to research in a short time. Most of the time languages aren’t a barrier for a tour. Then after a good tour and over view of a place we can more easily get around and explore more if we’re staying in the area. 😊

So glad the other friend couldn't make the trip to Barcelona. What a gorgeous city and I think Carlo would love it there as well. Taking the walking tour with you was so enjoyable. Elizabeth and the girls are always so positive and they looked so happy going off to the wedding. It was funny that you forgot about the elevator! But the ending when you get home and the "babies" are waiting for you. Priceless.

Thank you for taking us along. The scenery was gorgeous. I recognized that many of the buildings were Tartarian buildings. Tartaria is a hidden history to us, but has recently been put on the internet. Once you recognize the buildings, you start to see them everywhere.

Nicki I was once staying in Karlsruhe in Germany and went through the same thing you described...wanting to stay in my room. No one spoke English. I spoke no German. And then a friend said to me. "That's the idea. Come all the way to Germany and see nothing." That did it for me. For 2 and a half weeks I drove the autobahn and navigated sightseeing. By overcoming fear I made so many memories....which led me to my travels recently. I have now been through 48 of the Continental United States....and now have gone 7 times....by myself :) Good for you for overcoming :)
