- If you are looking to upgrade the clutch in your Porsche 997 Turbo to hold more power from your performance upgrades or its just that time to replace it, we have compiled a list of the best Clutch Kits available. Vivid Racing has been heavily involved in Porsche performance upgrades since 2006. Having built and tuned 100's of Porsche 911 Turbo cars all over the world, we found that the Clutch Masters Stage 3 FX250 clutch kit is the best replacement you can do. The FX250 from Clutch Masters is built from OEM Sachs components where Clutch Masters has beefed up the Pressure Plate, and re-engineered the clutch disc. The clutch features their own Fiber Tough material with a steel backing that offers incredible grip for those cars running standard Stage 2 upgrades such as a tune and exhaust. Rated to 600-700 horsepower, this clutch kit is the way to go.
Clutch kits can be available in a sprung and unsprung hub to work with a stock dual mass flywheel or the Clutch Masters lightweight flywheel. The dual mass OEM flywheel is extremely heavy which requires the engine to work much harder to turn this flywheel. The upgraded LWFW helps the car rev faster and build boost quicker. But for those looking to really improve the clutch performance or have nearly 1000 horsepower, the Clutch Masters Twin Disk 850 clutch kit is the way to go. The twin disc kit has a built in lightweight flywheel. It features dual 7.5 inch discs that engage each other for a smooth streetable use that will hold the power you need.
Clutch Masters offers many different clutch kits available for manual transmission cars. But if you are looking to get the best for your Porsche, then work with Vivid Racing on getting setup properly!

What about 997.2 Turbos with a manual transmission: any alternatives for the DMF and clutch kits?

Both videos you've said these are almost 10 years old... They are getting close to 20! Mine is an '08, and I always comment that she looks good for a 16 year old car.
Its really hard to make quick content and run a business. So without scripts, sometimes I say things wrong. But yes They are. I had a 2007 and 2010 and they are incredible vehicles. They are still in good condition because Porsche owners take care of their cars.
Oh I get it. I wasn’t dogging you. Great video. My favorite car of all time, for me. 😊
My clutch started slipping this weekend. Car is making 700whp. I will probably go with a twin disk clutch but holy mackerel they are pricey. I run a twin disk in my BMW and its 1/5th the price of the Porsche options.
