@@justinlangley9529 The twin is a lot cleaner and louder. Although this super reverb is said to be 85 watts of power it only has 2 6L6 Power tubes, what means it's probably just a branding thing. The pro reverb is a Twin with a 4 x 12” speaker cabinet
Great amps
@@BuddaGuedes sorry but i think the twin of this era had 135 watts, 4 6L6s, the pro has 2 6L6 with 2x12 and the super has 6L6 with 4x10. At least i think it was like this at end of 70s. The super and the pro where the same amp with different speaker cabinet.
Mine has 4 6L6
same amp but the pro has 2x12 speakers.
Is there any way that you can tell me the number that’s on this reverb tank? I know it’s a lot to ask but I thought I would try. I bought this same a.m. and it got damaged in shipment and the Reverb tank springs broke. I have to buy a new Reverb tag now unfortunately.
It’s not visible!! But you can read it on yours for sure
Budda, I bought a 1967 blackface Super Reverb, Im replacing the old mix/matched speakers with 4 Fat Jimmy speakers, Im hoping with the right pedals I can still play Hendrix stuff, what do you think?
It’s a loud amp, but great for Hendrix for sure. Get a great fuzz
Super reverb or twin reverb...?
Super Reverb for me
@@justinlangley9529 The twin is a lot cleaner and louder. Although this super reverb is said to be 85 watts of power it only has 2 6L6 Power tubes, what means it's probably just a branding thing. The Super Reverb compresses and is a lot easier to get a greta tone than the super, unless you want clean power and use pedals with the Twin. With that said the Twin Reverb is an incredible amp, and it was my main amp for more than 10 years.
Are the speakers 16ohm?
Great Demo!!! Listen anyone know if these are still point to point wiring in 1979? I believe they made changes to the circuit & switched to a SS rectifier later in the 70's curious if they started using Printed Circuit boards at all before discontinuing the model in 1981?
I’m not sure but I’ll look into it
Thanks @@BuddaGuedes any info on whether yours is point to point would be much appreciated.. I'm looking at a 1978 Super Reverb but the owners not to techy & I'm not up on the fender stuff really. it's a 6 hour drive away to go see it . I wouldn't normally consider it but the price is pretty cheap, but I'd pass on it.if there a PCB amp. Cheers .
I’ll try to look into it ASAP
@@BuddaGuedes I'm curious too about this exact year!
I’ll try to find it out
It’s just a magical thing lol.....No YOU! Have a bad ass right hand!!!!........Tube amps need a great right hand!!! Good job!
Hi! What speaker has this súper reverb?
Blue fender ones. Not labeled
@@BuddaGuedes My Fender 79 SR UL MV has the same Blue Label Fender speakers. I believe they are made for Fender by Rola a division of Jensen.
Thanks a lot
why did you choose this rather than a blackface? did you compare them?
This was available!!! It’s a vintage amp so I bought what I catch. I was looking for a super reverb and this popped up!!!
