Yeah, you can basically do it with anything. Like the dress on the thumbnail to this video has transparent sleeves. There might be clipping so you just need to edit the mesh the way it won't clip with the arms. It can be hard though, with a lot of tries and errors. :( I'm afraid there's no single solution to this, it mostly depends on your mesh. Puffy and big sleeves should be easier to make, if they're skin tight, it's probably better just paint the texture over the skin and make them transparent on the alpha layer of your texture.
Hello, thank you so much for this tutorial. I've looking so long for this one. It is very well explained and so helpful 😊. I have one question. Do i have to do this after transfer weights or before? Hope you have a wonderful weekend and Lovley Greetings 😊
As I've said in the video it's better to finish everything before adding new transparent cuts, you will save time in case if there's some glitch that needs fixing. Unless you make something that has only body parts (like legs, arms, etc) underneath the sheer part. Before separating your one cut into several cuts, transfer weights and then separate your extra sheer part into another mesh group.
awesome video! i do have some questions though bc i'm still a bit of a noob to this. (these questions all apply to the "difficult method") - 2:43 is the Sims4Studio Cas Tool tab a plugin for blender? - Which version or blender are you using? - 4:41 why do you decide on the ending 1? is there a specific range of numbers/letters that you're limited to? what's the logic to this step? it kind of went over my head T_T - 9:05 could you do a tutorial on how to remove the shine from clothes/set up custom shine using the nvidia shader thing for sims4studio? i've never fully understood how to do it haha - 9:26 would i have to change the ending for the transparent part for all the lods differently? so if the ending was changed to 1 on lod0, would it have to be 2 for lod1, 3 for lod2, etc? or can it be the same ending for all of them? - Could you do a tutorial on weight transfers/rigging custom clothing to the sims 4 models in blender? i feel like a lot of people would probably appreciate that haha thanks so much if you decide to read all this! and thanks for the video ♥
thanks! 1. yes, it will be installed automatically in your blender when you set up the path to blender in s4s correctly 2. 2.79b 3. no, there's nothing specific ab a number\letter, it just has to be different from the rest groups, if it is the same s4s won't save it. 4. it has nothing to do with the nvidia shader, to make your mesh matte you just need to make a matte specular map for it. I have one on google docs, you may find the link on my blog. 5. no, it has to be the same ending for all lods. 6. maybe I'll do it one day, if I have more time on my hands. you're welcome 😘
Oh my gosh, I love the clothes you make for the Sims. Thank you SO much for this tutorial!
I don't know how to make cc, I feel like watching asmr video because your voice is great ^^
oh this is really such a good tutorial! thank you, it was super explained and in depth :D you are an amazing creater
thanks 💓
Hi!! Thank you so much for this tutorial! I was wondering if this can also work to make sleeves? Cause I'm having a lot of issues with that

@@joliebeancc omg thank you so much for all the answers!! You've been so helpful!
On 2:55, I map UV like you but in game it's not transparent, it lost everything (include body texture)
wdym it lost everything?
@@joliebeancc It's mean my sim transparent skin too 😅
@@coolbirdv My guess you didn't separate your mesh into more than 1 cut. Or you put the simglass shader for the incorrect cut.
how did you get the S4Studio CAS Tools in blender? (2:49)
You need to make sure that your sims 4 studio has a correct path to blender and when you export some mesh and open it, this tab will be there.
@@joliebeancc Oh ok, how do I make sure S4S has a path to blender?
@@jadejames3189 it's in the settings, blender path line. In fact when you export a mesh, s4s won't do it unless you have a proper path to blender
Also, do I need to change the alpha layer of the new cut?
@@jadejames3189 yes, you need to use shades of grey to regulate the opacity in the alpha layer of your texture
Thank you
We can’t use blender 3.3?
no. you can only use 2.70,2.78 and 2.79. the only way u can use 3.3 is for texturing
however, u MUST have 2.70 in order to import mesh into sims 4 studio
Well suprisingly they did come out with a beta version of sims 4 studio for Blender 3.3
Thank you so much
