It's a kids show. Just like Star Wars Rebels is a kids show. The Clone Wars was really good, it was really mature but this is airing on Disney channel ffs. What were you people expecting from this show, do you really think this show would be the next Citizen Kane right next all the shitty tween sitcoms airing on Disney Channel? Like for adults this and Rebels are pretty bad, but they aren't for this audience. But for some reason, adults keep watching and then they appeal to them. That's why they release the season trailers online and they air it so late. You aren't going to miss much by skipping this series so just don't watch it.

On a note about the clone wars, I love how the 2003 one portrayed Grievious. He was quick, brutal, avoided protracted fights, and used all four of his arms only as a surprise weapon (y'know, to keep it a surprise). The more recent series had him using them all the time, and he went from a warrior who could take on six/seven jedi at once, to a comical fool who got beaten by a Padawan. From the mastermind behind the massacre at Hypori who proceeded to lead the droid army in a series of crushing victories, to the guy who couldn't get anything right, even when equipped with arguably the most powerful ship in history. Look at the scene where he takes on a room full of clones and senate guards, versus when he fights a group of gungans. That's the difference right there. Pitiful.
Karpal5047, My favourite was Mace windu the way they showed him fighting was brilliant and then in the movie he gets chucked out the window after about five minutes of on screen fighting.
Don't forget Attack of the Clones, where he led a couple hundred jedi in an attack where about twenty survived (maybe). Then he was given command of the Grand Army of the Republic! And proceeded to order them to charge the fortified separatist positions. Not my fav.

You take that back, RWBY was full of thrilling action, intriguing & interesting characters, fight animation that left us wanting more, and was made by anime fans for anime fans. This Resistance trailer has nothing of the above mentioned in it. It is so blandly by-the-numbers safe & inoffensive it is a turn-off.

Which is also why Star Wars 1313 was cancelled, it looked as though that it was primarily going to be a single player game. But single player games aren't as marketable as lets say, Over Watch where its multiplayer based.

I've gotta disagree with the texture bit- they're there, but it's missing details like scruff marks, grease marks, scorch marks, basically where they just took a single pass and drew the base colors on uniforms and skin without paying attention to how someone who has actually seen the business end of a blaster and survived would look like.

ARC-77 Fordo, Yes such a good show, brilliant art, great story, Grievous was terrifying and believable as a Jedi killer and it had sexy wolf men, it had something for everyone.
The 2003 series was crap apart from the action scenes, none of it made sense nor did it fit within even the EU. It was just kinda there with nothing to connect it to any of the other series because the story was just that bad.
We live in a world where star wars kotor 3, 1313, and the George lucas version of episode 7 didn't get made... But this and Rebels exist. We live in the darkest timeline, the timeline where the expanded universe is "Legends" and the new Expanded universe is cannon... and its being sold as DLC by EA in loot boxes.

But I can’t blame him that regard either because the whole group of people who claimed that George Lucas raped their childhood seemed to suck the joy out of him making Star Wars movies altogether. He wanted to tell the story about Anakin, a man who fell because of fear of loss that he couldn’t get over because of the frankly horrible rigid laws that the Jedi Order had, but the fan reaction was insane. I mean they caused Jake Lloyd have a mental breakdown because they were harassing him over a role he was doing as a child and while I don’t like Jar Jar Binks at all, but my heart broke when Ahmed Best said at one point he thought of committing suicide over the harassment for only doing his job. You don’t have to like these movies at all, but leave the actors alone because at the end of the day they are only doing their job.
shouldn't have retconned the books- just make movie adaptions, hardcore fans get a movie adaption of their favorite book trilogy and the casual audience gets fresh movie plots.

Evil sometimes is more interesting, and we don’t know how the empire worked out from the prequels.

Sunday at 10pm...it looks like Disney knows it has a dud, but they have already bought the show and animated it so they have put it in a bad slot to kill it. Studios do this all the time when they have no faith in a product. I get the feeling Resistance was one of those StarWars products greenlight without having to earn its spot with a good concept. Now that StarWars has fallen on its face under its current management, Disney seems to be reigning them in. They have taken back the blank check and are wiping the slate clean. At least that is what I hope they are doing.
Reminds me of how Fox treated Firefly by giving them a bad, late night slot, not airing the pilot first, all that jazz. Regardless of whether the execs have faith in it or not, I just hope they either come back to Lucas on their knees or allow more EU content back in. Sad stuff.

To me, Rebels was mostly filler. The only good scenes were when the characters from TCW appeared - Filoni was using them to keep people hyped. For me the show was a very poor copy of the KotOR Ebon Hawk crew concept and Kanan was a copy of Kyle Katarn. And yeah.. dark jedi flying on a spining lightsaber. :D please xD It had it's moments thou.

Fair enough. It turns me off his stuff, BUT if I were to look at that short as a standalone piece, I do still have ONE complaint. It's so pro-Imperial. Now, I wouldn't complain if that's what his intent, but I don't know. It's a little too much for me. But it is fun and VERY well animated. (Just wish he'd realize that he can improve, you can always get better.) Although, given how disposable the TIE fighter pilots are, I take exception to having women pilots. Women are too socially precious to sacrifice to a service that gives the average pilot lifespan in the 5 minute range. And no, I am not exaggerating. TIE Fighters are literally a ball with engines, solar collectors and guns. That's it, no shields, no hyperdrive, no life support and barely a targeting computer. But that's just me. You can have your own opinion, and I promise to respect it, even if I don't agree with it.

Each film has confirmed it more and more.. TFA was the on screen birth of the abomination to the Saga.. TLJ was the abomination fully formed.
George lucas always said he was never doing star wars again. Those "treatments" had to be made in order to make the sale sweeter for himself, so he had something to bargain for more money with. I dont believe for ONE SECOND that George had a trilogy in mind.
暗黒騎士 Ankokukishi That’s incorrect you will find a 1977 interview with with Mark Hamill literally saying George asked if he would be open to returning as an Obi Wan type in a trilogy 30+ years in the future.. Was always the plan to have 9 films.. However those 9 films altered over the course of George developing the Universe on screen in games and other media.. He was convinced due to the the hate he was getting from some about bits and pieces that he wouldn’t direct another film again.. He did however intend fully to hand the property over when he was convicted it would keep everyone employed beyond his own time.. If you asked him in 09 if there would be a final trilogy he would say no.. Simply because he didn’t want to go though it personally again.. He did have a final part of the story to tell.. He just was publicly sticking his nose up due to the behaviour of some online at that time towards him and the prequels.. Lucas ironed out 3 treatments for the final trilogy over 2010-2012 and the sale.. They were to be the parting gift.. The closing of the book for the Skywalker Saga.. It was going to free Disney moving forward to make original content within the universe.... They have failed on every single front.. They have failed Lucas they have failed to deliver the proper 7-9.. They will never be accepted.. Mark my words they will never be accepted in the Skywalker Saga.. Disney has lost all good will with the brand.. The fans are outraged that Disney has destroyed the brand and alienated everyone that loved it over those 35 years before purchase.

暗黒騎士 Ankokukishi Yes.. From a directing standpoint.. He was tired at that time.. The story was there and had been since the beginning. Mark was always coming back.. Look up the interview from 1977.. He was tired after 6 and retired.. Despite telling everyone there was more to tell.. Mark knew the story.. He knew Episode 1s plot in that 1977 interview.. You have to understand the time George is asked he said no more all the way up to 09 publicly.. In 2010 to 2012 he wrote out 3 20 page story treatments to the close of the Saga.. The only things left are a female lead (wasn’t what is now Rey) and Mark on an island (Lucas version included a temple and students and him being a master Jedi).. They have fucked it up.. No Lucas story it’s not the Skywalker Saga.. Simple.. Should have closed it with his story and moved on with high audience good will and proper satisfying closure.

I came to love Star Wars at age 6, by reading the visual dictionaries and vehicle cross-section books. Grew up with the OT and the prequels, used to watch CW episodes every Sunday on my dad's school computer, read the Dark Horse comics about Quinlan Vos in the Clone Wars, the Yuzhann Vong invasion, the Empire series and the Rebellion series all which would now be considered "Legends", watched the 2002-2003 CW and read the comics that went with and would try to learn as much about the lore as possible, and overall I loved every aspect of it. I was and still in many senses a hardcore fan of the "real Star Wars". When Disney bought the rights to Star Wars, I immediately had my reservations and was turned off completely when they cancelled CW. There was talk in my local SW fanbase community about a show called "Rebels" but I knew nothing could top TCW. Everything Disney produces seems just so...bland compared to the good stuff. Sure, Rogue was pretty good, and Rebels wasn't complete garbage in my eyes only cause of having Thrawn, but it's become so bland because (1) the need to over censor with Disney as they're clearly trying to cater to kids (2) many of the PC motives behind stories and characters, trying to force a sense of badassery on people who just can't (ex; trying to portray Admiral Holdo as some "badass hero" on grounds cause she's a purple haired SJW and she's an "empowered woman" vs. Ahsoka Tano who's a natural badass and no one gives a shit if she's a female or not) and (3) because Disney is sucking the life essence from Star Wars completely. They throw out crappy movie after movie after movie and then a crapload of mediocre TV shows and make as much money off of it, then let franchise go because they've beat as much money out of it as humanly possible and there's no money left to make. Disney just sees Star Wars as another money making scheme, not actually caring or trying to produce good quality content for the old and new fans to love. Quality over quantity Disney, I'd rather one really good Star Wars movie from you guys than 5 sub-par movies all put out rapid fire.

This new star wars resistance's animation/art style looks a lot like the Cartoon Network show Slug Terra. Disney needs some better ideas for Star Wars, and if they just look towards the Expanded Universe, where they have a plethora of lore and stories, specifically the Revan arc, will be a wise choice. That being said, if they ever decide to go for a Revan movie, show, or reboot game, they must get experienced, fan writers to return the Fallen Jedi, turned Sith Lord, and eras like The Old Republic to canon again.
You underestimate KK's ability to ruin things - they will just turn Bastilla Shan, Mission Vao and Juhani into Mary Sues. Instead of Bastilla turning to the Dark Side, it will be Revan who will turn again to the Dark Side and agree to be apprentice of the newest apprentice of Darth Malak - Yuthura (of course she will be incredibly badass too), but Bastilla will defeat them both in 2vs1 combat, so Revan will come back to the light again. Then when fighting against Malak, Revan will go together with Juhani and Jolee Bindo, while Bastilla is meditating to help everyone in battle, Malak will easily crush Revan and Jolee Bindo, while Juhani will be the only one, who is still fighting against Malak for like 2 minutes, but she will also have some difficulties, but then we see Bastilla using her double-bladed lightsaber to fly like a helicopter (just like in Rebels) and then she suddenly uses Force Speed to fly incredibly fast towards Malak and puts grenade in his mouth (yeah, Malak will have a mouth here, because otherwise he would be scarier than Kylo Ren and Disney doesn't want that), so he dies.

Problem with Star Wars now is that people just don’t care about it anymore. That is the worst thing that could happen for Disney. There is zero interest in the current direction of Star Wars.
Why can't we bring the original Expanded Universe back and make a tv show that takes place after the battle of endor and follows the Heir to the Empire books. Luke, Leia, Han, and Chewie can help the Rebel Alliance slowly transform over to the New Republic and rebuild the Jedi Order while battling Imperial Remnant forces led by Thrawn! That would be a much better show than Resistance or Rebels.

Anakin's sacrifice wasn't pointless. True Palpatine was back but here's the thing, he had more or less lost everything. Everyone knew who he really was and the balance of the Force was restored. Also in all honesty, it would be completely out of character for Palpatine to not come back somehow as he was a powerful darkside user completely dedicated to finding the secret to immortality. He would've found something.

It's a kids show. Just like Star Wars Rebels is a kids show. The Clone Wars was really good, it was really mature but this is airing on Disney channel ffs. What were you people expecting from this show, do you really think this show would be the next Citizen Kane right next all the shitty tween sitcoms airing on Disney Channel? Like for adults this and Rebels are pretty bad, but they aren't for this audience. But for some reason, adults keep watching and then they appeal to them. That's why they release the season trailers online and they air it so late. You aren't going to miss much by skipping this series so just don't watch it.

This "resistance" looks like a mid 2000s hot wheels cartoon called acceleracers.
Acceleracers was more interesting and mature than Resistance (It actually looks more like a cheaper version of Hot Wheels Battle Force 5).

On a note about the clone wars, I love how the 2003 one portrayed Grievious. He was quick, brutal, avoided protracted fights, and used all four of his arms only as a surprise weapon (y'know, to keep it a surprise). The more recent series had him using them all the time, and he went from a warrior who could take on six/seven jedi at once, to a comical fool who got beaten by a Padawan. From the mastermind behind the massacre at Hypori who proceeded to lead the droid army in a series of crushing victories, to the guy who couldn't get anything right, even when equipped with arguably the most powerful ship in history.
Look at the scene where he takes on a room full of clones and senate guards, versus when he fights a group of gungans. That's the difference right there. Pitiful.

Don't forget Attack of the Clones, where he led a couple hundred jedi in an attack where about twenty survived (maybe). Then he was given command of the Grand Army of the Republic! And proceeded to order them to charge the fortified separatist positions. Not my fav.

You take that back, RWBY was full of thrilling action, intriguing & interesting characters, fight animation that left us wanting more, and was made by anime fans for anime fans. This Resistance trailer has nothing of the above mentioned in it. It is so blandly by-the-numbers safe & inoffensive it is a turn-off.

I've gotta disagree with the texture bit- they're there, but it's missing details like scruff marks, grease marks, scorch marks, basically where they just took a single pass and drew the base colors on uniforms and skin without paying attention to how someone who has actually seen the business end of a blaster and survived would look like.

The 2003 series was crap apart from the action scenes, none of it made sense nor did it fit within even the EU. It was just kinda there with nothing to connect it to any of the other series because the story was just that bad.

He wanted to tell the story about Anakin, a man who fell because of fear of loss that he couldn’t get over because of the frankly horrible rigid laws that the Jedi Order had, but the fan reaction was insane. I mean they caused Jake Lloyd have a mental breakdown because they were harassing him over a role he was doing as a child and while I don’t like Jar Jar Binks at all, but my heart broke when Ahmed Best said at one point he thought of committing suicide over the harassment for only doing his job. You don’t have to like these movies at all, but leave the actors alone because at the end of the day they are only doing their job.

Changing it up a bit instead of always revolving around the rebels. Dark moments in the clone wars were one of the most memorable. Evil sometimes is more interesting, and we don’t know how the empire worked out from the prequels.

Sunday at 10pm...it looks like Disney knows it has a dud, but they have already bought the show and animated it so they have put it in a bad slot to kill it. Studios do this all the time when they have no faith in a product. I get the feeling Resistance was one of those StarWars products greenlight without having to earn its spot with a good concept. Now that StarWars has fallen on its face under its current management, Disney seems to be reigning them in. They have taken back the blank check and are wiping the slate clean. At least that is what I hope they are doing.
Reminds me of how Fox treated Firefly by giving them a bad, late night slot, not airing the pilot first, all that jazz. Regardless of whether the execs have faith in it or not, I just hope they either come back to Lucas on their knees or allow more EU content back in. Sad stuff.

To be honest, I lost almost all hype after the last jedi. I know they're gonna kill off another character from the original trilogy. Han and Luke are dead, so... probably chewbacca. (Sigh) can't we just leave this franchise at a happy ending?
I don't know,if you guys have seen the ''Tie Fighter'' animation shortmovie.It's an unofficial,fanmade movie,which depicts a space battle,between the Rebel Alliance & the Glactic Empire,from the POV of the Imperials,made by a small team of fans.
This little fanmade,shortfilm,puts this crap here to shame and was propably produced with less then 1/10 of the budget!!

Fair enough. It turns me off his stuff, BUT if I were to look at that short as a standalone piece, I do still have ONE complaint. It's so pro-Imperial. Now, I wouldn't complain if that's what his intent, but I don't know. It's a little too much for me. But it is fun and VERY well animated. (Just wish he'd realize that he can improve, you can always get better.)
Although, given how disposable the TIE fighter pilots are, I take exception to having women pilots. Women are too socially precious to sacrifice to a service that gives the average pilot lifespan in the 5 minute range. And no, I am not exaggerating. TIE Fighters are literally a ball with engines, solar collectors and guns. That's it, no shields, no hyperdrive, no life support and barely a targeting computer. But that's just me. You can have your own opinion, and I promise to respect it, even if I don't agree with it.

George lucas always said he was never doing star wars again. Those "treatments" had to be made in order to make the sale sweeter for himself, so he had something to bargain for more money with. I dont believe for ONE SECOND that George had a trilogy in mind.
暗黒騎士 Ankokukishi That’s incorrect you will find a 1977 interview with with Mark Hamill literally saying George asked if he would be open to returning as an Obi Wan type in a trilogy 30+ years in the future.. Was always the plan to have 9 films.. However those 9 films altered over the course of George developing the Universe on screen in games and other media.. He was convinced due to the the hate he was getting from some about bits and pieces that he wouldn’t direct another film again.. He did however intend fully to hand the property over when he was convicted it would keep everyone employed beyond his own time.. If you asked him in 09 if there would be a final trilogy he would say no.. Simply because he didn’t want to go though it personally again.. He did have a final part of the story to tell.. He just was publicly sticking his nose up due to the behaviour of some online at that time towards him and the prequels.. Lucas ironed out 3 treatments for the final trilogy over 2010-2012 and the sale.. They were to be the parting gift.. The closing of the book for the Skywalker Saga.. It was going to free Disney moving forward to make original content within the universe.... They have failed on every single front.. They have failed Lucas they have failed to deliver the proper 7-9.. They will never be accepted.. Mark my words they will never be accepted in the Skywalker Saga.. Disney has lost all good will with the brand.. The fans are outraged that Disney has destroyed the brand and alienated everyone that loved it over those 35 years before purchase.

He was tired after 6 and retired.. Despite telling everyone there was more to tell.. Mark knew the story.. He knew Episode 1s plot in that 1977 interview.. You have to understand the time George is asked he said no more all the way up to 09 publicly.. In 2010 to 2012 he wrote out 3 20 page story treatments to the close of the Saga.. The only things left are a female lead (wasn’t what is now Rey) and Mark on an island (Lucas version included a temple and students and him being a master Jedi).. They have fucked it up.. No Lucas story it’s not the Skywalker Saga.. Simple.. Should have closed it with his story and moved on with high audience good will and proper satisfying closure.

The dialogue really wasn't that good. But I liked everything else about it.
I came to love Star Wars at age 6, by reading the visual dictionaries and vehicle cross-section books. Grew up with the OT and the prequels, used to watch CW episodes every Sunday on my dad's school computer, read the Dark Horse comics about Quinlan Vos in the Clone Wars, the Yuzhann Vong invasion, the Empire series and the Rebellion series all which would now be considered "Legends", watched the 2002-2003 CW and read the comics that went with and would try to learn as much about the lore as possible, and overall I loved every aspect of it. I was and still in many senses a hardcore fan of the "real Star Wars". When Disney bought the rights to Star Wars, I immediately had my reservations and was turned off completely when they cancelled CW. There was talk in my local SW fanbase community about a show called "Rebels" but I knew nothing could top TCW. Everything Disney produces seems just so...bland compared to the good stuff. Sure, Rogue was pretty good, and Rebels wasn't complete garbage in my eyes only cause of having Thrawn, but it's become so bland because (1) the need to over censor with Disney as they're clearly trying to cater to kids (2) many of the PC motives behind stories and characters, trying to force a sense of badassery on people who just can't (ex; trying to portray Admiral Holdo as some "badass hero" on grounds cause she's a purple haired SJW and she's an "empowered woman" vs. Ahsoka Tano who's a natural badass and no one gives a shit if she's a female or not) and (3) because Disney is sucking the life essence from Star Wars completely. They throw out crappy movie after movie after movie and then a crapload of mediocre TV shows and make as much money off of it, then let franchise go because they've beat as much money out of it as humanly possible and there's no money left to make. Disney just sees Star Wars as another money making scheme, not actually caring or trying to produce good quality content for the old and new fans to love. Quality over quantity Disney, I'd rather one really good Star Wars movie from you guys than 5 sub-par movies all put out rapid fire.

This new star wars resistance's animation/art style looks a lot like the Cartoon Network show Slug Terra. Disney needs some better ideas for Star Wars, and if they just look towards the Expanded Universe, where they have a plethora of lore and stories, specifically the Revan arc, will be a wise choice. That being said, if they ever decide to go for a Revan movie, show, or reboot game, they must get experienced, fan writers to return the Fallen Jedi, turned Sith Lord, and eras like The Old Republic to canon again.
You underestimate KK's ability to ruin things - they will just turn Bastilla Shan, Mission Vao and Juhani into Mary Sues. Instead of Bastilla turning to the Dark Side, it will be Revan who will turn again to the Dark Side and agree to be apprentice of the newest apprentice of Darth Malak - Yuthura (of course she will be incredibly badass too), but Bastilla will defeat them both in 2vs1 combat, so Revan will come back to the light again.
Then when fighting against Malak, Revan will go together with Juhani and Jolee Bindo, while Bastilla is meditating to help everyone in battle, Malak will easily crush Revan and Jolee Bindo, while Juhani will be the only one, who is still fighting against Malak for like 2 minutes, but she will also have some difficulties, but then we see Bastilla using her double-bladed lightsaber to fly like a helicopter (just like in Rebels) and then she suddenly uses Force Speed to fly incredibly fast towards Malak and puts grenade in his mouth (yeah, Malak will have a mouth here, because otherwise he would be scarier than Kylo Ren and Disney doesn't want that), so he dies.
They better keep their filthy hands off my old republic era.....

Why can't we bring the original Expanded Universe back and make a tv show that takes place after the battle of endor and follows the Heir to the Empire books. Luke, Leia, Han, and Chewie can help the Rebel Alliance slowly transform over to the New Republic and rebuild the Jedi Order while battling Imperial Remnant forces led by Thrawn! That would be a much better show than Resistance or Rebels.

There is literally to much things in the Expanded Universe, but I would like to Yuzhaan Vong war or the hunt for Abeloth.
Anakin's sacrifice wasn't pointless. True Palpatine was back but here's the thing, he had more or less lost everything. Everyone knew who he really was and the balance of the Force was restored.
Also in all honesty, it would be completely out of character for Palpatine to not come back somehow as he was a powerful darkside user completely dedicated to finding the secret to immortality. He would've found something.
Remember when george lucas injected his own money into the clonewars animated show just because...well he loved his story.
