Stevie, you are a warrior. Thank you for sharing this heartfelt choice with us. Thanks also for coming forward to fight for the rights of women. The decision on whether to continue or end a pregnancy should not be made by committee. It is a choice that should be made by a woman & her doctor. I do believe men and women are equal, but the abortion issue always comes up. I don’t criticize her; I don’t hate her. Absolutely not. I just find it peculiar that women who say they don’t regret having an abortion still have vivid memories about it after decades. If it’s no worse than pulling out a tooth, they would have forgotten all about it by now.
People don’t make these decisions at the drop of a hat or because it’s fun or easy or whatever. It’s something people have to live with. Doesn’t make them a bad person for having an abortion.

I love Stevie Nicks. She made the right choice for her, and there’s nothing more empowering than women deciding over their destiny. I am 9 months pregnant, and 36 years old. This year motherhood called me, and I feel ready, prepared both financially and spiritually to be the mother my child needs. This luxury, I wish upon my fellow females. Not everyone has had the same opportunity to choose wisely.

Maybe people should be responsible with their sexual lifestyle. Use birth control and stay away from Drugs.. make good choices and avoid the need to destroy a human life.
And that was your biological mother‘s choice. In some societies, she would not have been given that choice. Everyone should have choices. The government should not make your choices for you. That is not a radical concept, that is basic human freedom.
@@Crackerbird2000 Come on, in real life, we all know that people will not abstain and that accidents happen. Just look at Stevie's circumstance. Disgusting that you want to make choices for other people.

For starts, it's not fair to the kids. What a shame the abortion right debate circle has been usurped by those who figured out how to use abortion as a means for smear campaigns and to fight over the guy they want like Grease Freaks.
I salute Stevie for taking a stand on women's rights in this backwards looking, divided country. I too used that right in 1979, in 1990 I became a mother and could provide for a child in the way I believe children should be provided for, not just monetarily but to BE there and be fully invested in his life.
Sometimes women get active in the pro abortion movement as a defense mechanism for dealing with the long term trauma and self loathing that results from getting an abortion. She seems like she is in a lot of pain over her decision. I wish for her sake that this interview was about her relationship with her child and the joy that has brought her. Perhaps we should all take a moment to mourn the loss of her child.
I think Stevie is doing what she was meant to do, sharing a bit of her story. Women take precautions and still become pregnant and may still choose to have a child , but certain circumstances it may mot be best , and I speaking more for the child. An unwanted child is possibly in my view to me of the most hurtful things to be. I am not meaning to preach but Stevie is right to stand up and get people to consider the realities of how dark turning back on roe v wade is and also consider how shameful it is for us here in the United States to be going backwards on a number of issues that deeply affect people who already face a lack of acceptance.
Thank you for your beautiful words! I'm thrilled to hear my sound resonates with you so deeply. Your passion and connection mean everything to me - keep listening and feeling!🎵🎵🌷💐💐
Not surprised of her past. Let voters decide. Planned Parenthood is so evil they would not allow me to bring my baby in the building with me. They told me they didn't want my baby to influence someone wanting an abortion. How evil is that?! Pretty evil! Adoption is always an alternative too. Love her music. ❤
Yes Stevie, God gave you the gift of talent and the gift of a child who didn’t have a chance to have a life as it would be an inconvenience to you. All mothers and fathers have to make huge sacrifices in order to raise a family. I understand your values and want the best for you but there was a baby that wanted you as a mother that you’ll never know because you terminated that life. Please do your best to understand those who don’t agree with your decision and see if there is any value in their hearts that you could benefit from as you’ll never know that child who also would have been immediately adopted as well. You talk about not being able to turn around to see Lindsey or it would make you cry. I’m crying right now for your child.
Yes but those who make those sacrfices WANT to make them, they WANT to be parents and that is their choice. However there are people who do not want to be parents hence taking precautions to not get pregnant and if those fail it should be their right to abort or not. What's right for one person isn't right for another, nobody has the right to force women to have kids who don't want to have them, who've taken precaution of not getting pregnant. Don't like abortion, don't get one

I really don’t get star struck after 40 years in the entertainment industry, but Stevie?!?!? It’s almost like she radiates this beautiful energy from another plane. An experience like no other in my lifetime.
I have always loved the music of Stevie Nicks since the late seventies. Her new music now raises social consciousness. I look forward to listening her new music.
Stevie, you are a warrior. Thank you for sharing this heartfelt choice with us. Thanks also for coming forward to fight for the rights of women. The decision on whether to continue or end a pregnancy should not be made by committee. It is a choice that should be made by a woman & her doctor. As Tim Walz says, ‘others can mind their own business.’
Stevie, your new song is powerful. Thank you for continuing to bless us with your music. It is most assuredly a gift.

@@SammiJoReviews hmm! What about the rights of unborn women? A child within a mother's womb is not the mother's body but a separate human body all together. Follow the science! As a woman who is close in age to Stevie Nicks and one who has always enjoyed her gift of song and one who completely believe that each of us have the right to free speech whether I agree with them or not and lessons can be learned from each of us sharing our stories but a hero she is not.
Which is why Tim Walz LOST.
There’s nobody quite like her. Her music resonates with me like no other artist. She’s honest & I am glad she’s speaking out for women’s rights. We all need to stand up for ourselves. I have a daughter & I don’t appreciate men who want to take away her rights especially on such a sensitive issue. Stevie is right we must do what is best for us & our families. This isn’t just about women who were irresponsible & got pregnant there are lots of circumstances when it’s necessary. Thank you Stevie!
@@snoops5581 not getting pregnant is pretty easy. Birth control is there if you find it healthy. Find a virtuous man that is committed to you. Abortion
Won’t be necessary. Woman’s rights should be reserved for mothers trying to raise great children.

A legend in her own mind.

I was in under-grad at USC when Fleetwood Mac hit their peak. I love that band, and thank you Stevie for speaking up for the reproductive rights of women and girls.

My heart broke too. Honestly, I have been heartbroken since Christine died. 😢💔

Stevie is still beautiful inside and out. She was my first crush and I still feel like that 10yr old boy every time I see or hear her. My biggest regret, never meeting her.
I had the pleasure in the early nineties to see the band in Portland, Maine!!!! One of the great🎵 treats of my life! Thanks, Stevie!!!!👏🎵🇺🇲💖
If people would make a really big deal out of pulling teeth, then you would probably also remember those moments vividly.
People don’t make these decisions at the drop of a hat or because it’s fun or easy or whatever. It’s something people have to live with. Doesn’t make them a bad person for having an abortion.
Stevie, thank you for taking the lead.As always, love your music.Love you , blessed be
What a Great woman elder, stevie remembers the years our mothers and other women were dying because they had no power over there bodies!!!! You better prepare for war is a great line, because in a few years the rate of women dying fir lack of health care and children born into situation that are unwanted or deplorable will skyrocket. Great interview! TY Stevie for shining the light AGAIN on women and our struggles.
Beautifully said. Wishing you and your precious baby all the best.
Luxury? Murdering your child?
What is the difference in your child from last month to next month?
Stevie was more interested in her next snort of coke , she decided on abortion because she couldn't quit the addiction and her baby would have ruined her party life ! lets get real !

Maybe people should be responsible with their sexual lifestyle. Use birth control and stay away from Drugs.. make good choices and avoid the need to destroy a human life.
Adoption. I am so grateful for my adoptive parents. They wanted me desperately. 💜

I support having abortions legalized. Forcing parents to conceive unwanted children tends to go sideways on many levels.

I salute Stevie for taking a stand on women's rights in this backwards looking, divided country. I too used that right in 1979, in 1990 I became a mother and could provide for a child in the way I believe children should be provided for, not just monetarily but to BE there and be fully invested in his life.
Thank you for your all your songs and especially for the courage to use your voice, then and now. 😢😮1
Stevie you rock on all levels!! Thank you for speaking out through song!!😍
There is no evidence of any "abortion trauma." Stop trying to deceive people.

I love this woman she’s so amazing ❤
Eloquent and easy to understand. Wise, beautiful -- real.
Absolutely Epic & Lovely to the Core ❤
I think Stevie is doing what she was meant to do, sharing a bit of her story. Women take precautions and still become pregnant and may still choose to have a child , but certain circumstances it may mot be best , and I speaking more for the child. An unwanted child is possibly in my view to me of the most hurtful things to be. I am not meaning to preach but Stevie is right to stand up and get people to consider the realities of how dark turning back on roe v wade is and also consider how shameful it is for us here in the United States to be going backwards on a number of issues that deeply affect people who already face a lack of acceptance.
I disagree a baby is a human being. Speak up for those that not yet have a voice

Cry for her soul and her judgement that awaits her.

Stevie Nicks the Gifted Poet
Hearing her explain why she had an abortion was awkward, It was her legal right (at the time) to do that and that's all the reason she needs.
Gah does it get any better than this woman?! What a legend.
Funny how having kids didn't hurt the band, Heart one bit, but Stevie did chose life.. her own
Stevie Nicks is the most incredible singer of the '70s when she was a member of Fleetwood Mac. Now, she is a single singer, or a solo singer, and she will continue to make more songs.

Wow. You did everything? And still God prevailed.
She sings wonderfully, but I believe it’s telling she hasn’t managed a stable relationship. Something about her is just toxic and destructive.
OK so you're the YT psychoanalyst in charge - will make a note of that
Many well known, constantly touring musicians have had difficulty maintaining stable relationships, because they are on the road, not at home. Let's look at Mick Jagger...if you wanna talk about the guys.
ReverendSnedley, thank you for noticing. I worked hard for my doctorate. How sad to hear that she had an abortion….think how talented her child might have been with her and don Henley.
Or they probably would have been like most of the children of talented people -- nothing to write home about regarding the art their parents were famous for. Folks always make babies out to be magical or something. They're just infant people.
Or just another messed up child who had lots of money but no parents with them ever due to their career and always being away from home. Could have went that way as well.
It was her decision to make, not yours.

Pretty arrogant to state that a band that was years old when you joined and already successful couldn’t succeed without you after you joined!!! I have noticed Stevie’s obvious narcissism in many video interviews of her! It’s a big turn off!
1000 percent agree. I'm more of a 90s kid and got into Fleetwood Mac late, and though I love the bad, hearing her speak this way shows me how egotistic she is and it's a major turnoff. So sad. Sometimes keep your private things private. We are not better knowing this. You're no one's savior by any means - and try not to act like one either.
I totally agree and Im a huge fan of her music. She was my first concert when I was a young girl. Fleetwood Mac is actually my favorite band. And no matter her views its her obvious arrogance and narcissism that totally makes me want to throw out all of her albums. But I wont.
Her concerts weren’t selling, she kept canceling. So, she pulls this out of her Top Hat. Cool clothes but she chose good times over responsibility just like the narcissist she is.
