I love the face Emmy makes when she eats something that isn`t exactly delicious, but isn`t like, totally gross either. It`s a face of measured, inquisitive consideration. I feel like if more humans responded to the world the way Emmy responds to a questionable but not atrocious food, we`d all be in a better spot.

I would have tried skipping the butter in the Tabasco pie, put cheddar cheese instead, and instead of vanilla I would have added worcestershire sauce, to get a savory quiche-esque thing. Great video Emmy!
I think with the way she made it if she should of added some shredded chicken or chunks of chicken and made a buffalo pie. Especially since the basic wing sauce recipe is hot sauce and butter.

When I was in Arizona I had a snack at the Mexican flea market...wedges of mango, cantaloupe and cucumber with hot sauce ladled over it all (tasted like Frank's hot sauce). It was served in a cup. Anyway, I thought it would be hot but it wasn't the sweetness of the fruit seemed to cancel out the heat of the hot sauce. I thought that would have happened with your Tobasco pie. Not sure why it didn't? But thank you for sharing your pie making with us...makes me want to experiment too! 😊

Not sure how my coffee would do in a pie. It tends to be just a little chewy... 😁 I'm willing to try it, however. But I think that I'd add some cinnamon, because IMHO cinnamon with coffee is amazing.

Wonder if chocolate wine can be made into a pie, it would be lovely during holidays. Could try using Lorann cola flavored oil in the water recipe, for giggles mix it with the bubble gum flavor for a cola bubble gum pie. I've successfully made fudges (melt 1 bag white chocolate chips, add 1 small can sweetened condensed, flavorant, and and extra things like nuts, marshmallows, etc ) in cola, cola bubble gum, root beer, & root beer bubble gum so the oils do work and mix well.
I like the way Emmy wraps foil from the bottom of the pie pan and up around the edges of the crust so they don't burn. I used to make a foil ring to lay on the edges, but her technique is far easier.
I'm shocked that the recipes didn't call for corn starch. I thought that might help beef them up in addition to the flour. Very fun idea! Thanks for the video.

I just think a lot of Thanksgiving food is strange Sweet potato and marshmallows Or is it yams? Here in New Zealand sweet potato is kumera and yams I think is orange kumera. We have yams here which a different vegetable than yams in America. Either way with marshmallows is strange to us. And so is pumpkin pie, which I've tried once. And was surprised how good it is

The problem is the chilis in the Tabasco will make the vinegar taste stronger than it really is along with giving you a good bit of heat. Maybe try cutting down the amount of Tabasco and try adding more water or maybe some kind of juice( maybe lime or coconut) to balance out the sour/sweet taste going on in the pie. Since it’s Thanksgiving, how about a pie made from cranberry sauce. Or how about a left-over pie. Take the stuffing, mashed potatoes, some chopped up Turkey, veggies(corn, carrots, green beans), and a couple raw eggs. Mix it up, put it in a pie shell and bake at 350 degrees for 30 min. Take it out to cool for 5 min. In the mean time warm up some gravy. Cut a piece of pie and pour some gravy over the pie and serve. Doesn’t that sound good? I’d love to see you try that one. I just made it up, but it does sound yummy.

I was most curious about the Tabasco pie. I've been to Avery Island to the McIlhenny plant for a tour. At the end of the tour, we were presented with several different samples to taste, which included new flavors of Tabasco to hit the shelves. There were a few surprises that awaited us, such as Tabasco vanilla ice cream, Tabasco Cola, Tabasco chili, Tabasco mustard, Tabasco ketchup and my absolute favorite sauce even to this very day is Chipotle Tabasco sauce. Everything mentioned above was absolutely delicious. Each oddity complemented the "standard" product. So, I was curious if the Tabasco sauce was going to make a pie worth a dang. I somehow knew the vinegar was going to shine through because when making my grandmother's collards & green beans, a dash of apple cider vinegar with a pinch of sugar is the thing that sends you over the top and wanting more. There isn't much of the vinegar in either dish but I taste it knowing I put it there. Tabasco is mainly vinegar, peppers and salt...I was wondering if any of the other ingredients were going to complement the pie or make it a pie strictly for the trash. Love your vids! I had some thoughts. The Tabasco pie would benefit from a balance of chocolate and hot sauce. Because spicy chocolate is delicious. Maybe a ganache on top or a mixture of chocolate sauce and tabasco or Sriracha? This led me to consider chocolate pies of this variety. How about a chocolate milk pie?

This is a great idea for a series! I thought of a couple tweaks/additions of pies that I'd love to see you try: For the coffee pie, instead of adding butter, add flavored coffee creamer, like Irish Cream or Peppermint Mocha. Now that you said orange Fanta pie, that sounds delicious! How about a rum-and-Coke pie? Please do more pie creations, because everyone loves pie, right? :)
I can imagine cranberry, red currant or something just as tart. I think sweeter juices like apple, pear or grape would be too sweet that the flavor might not carry through.

I think the best route to a good Tabasco pie is by using a recipe for vinegar pie.
with the butter added in there it's pretty much a buffalo sauce. i say add a healthy layer of chopped chicken and make a full on buffalo pie.

I don't know if you ever tried but Mexicans like to make coffee with Cinnamon in it. Cafe De Olla is what it's called. Nescafe even makes a version.

I was most curious about the Tabasco pie. I've been to Avery Island to the McIlhenny plant for a tour. At the end of the tour, we were presented with several different samples to taste, which included new flavors of Tabasco to hit the shelves. There were a few surprises that awaited us, such as Tabasco vanilla ice cream, Tabasco Cola, Tabasco chili, Tabasco mustard, Tabasco ketchup and my absolute favorite sauce even to this very day is Chipotle Tabasco sauce. Everything mentioned above was absolutely delicious. Each oddity complemented the "standard" product. So, I was curious if the Tabasco sauce was going to make a pie worth a dang. I somehow knew the vinegar was going to shine through because when making my grandmother's collards & green beans, a dash of apple cider vinegar with a pinch of sugar is the thing that sends you over the top and wanting more. There isn't much of the vinegar in either dish but I taste it knowing I put it there. Tabasco is mainly vinegar, peppers and salt...I was wondering if any of the other ingredients were going to complement the pie or make it a pie strictly for the trash. Emmy, this is giving me so many ideas- as a diabetic though i should probably ration them out. and as i will be forced to used gluten free ingredients due to other medical needs... they may not turn out even if i follow directions.
Keep trying and xanthan gum helps out for the gluten free stuff
Gluten free frozen pie crust and corn starch or tapioca starch instead of flour! And of course splenda.

Love your vids! I had some thoughts. The Tabasco pie would benefit from a balance of chocolate and hot sauce. Because spicy chocolate is delicious. Maybe a ganache on top or a mixture of chocolate sauce and tabasco or Sriracha?
This led me to consider chocolate pies of this variety. How about a chocolate milk pie?
I thought they’d be mixed together, I was coming to see if I could finally see Emmy gag, after eating the puke fruit and being so chill about it.

This is a great idea for a series! I thought of a couple tweaks/additions of pies that I'd love to see you try: For the coffee pie, instead of adding butter, add flavored coffee creamer, like Irish Cream or Peppermint Mocha. Now that you said orange Fanta pie, that sounds delicious! How about a rum-and-Coke pie? Please do more pie creations, because everyone loves pie, right? :)
I would like to see try making pies with all sorts of fruit juices.
I can imagine cranberry, red currant or something just as tart. I think sweeter juices like apple, pear or grape would be too sweet that the flavor might not carry through.
