My Dad's favourite Dcfc player. Played centre half myself and he would always tell me about M. Wright and how he carried the ball out majestically. Great to see such a England legend back at the home of Dcfc and shows what a fantastic history this club has. I hope you had a brilliant day Mark. Up the Rams!!!
Watching that interview brought back so many good memories and was literally emotional!
Was a mascot for Derby back in 1989 against Sheffield Wednesday, when Mark was captain.
Great player and watching him at Italia 90 scoring against Egypt and playing like a legend still makes me a proud fan to this day!

One of the best signings ever. 750k absolute snip. Biggest memory of him was when he ran half the length of the pitch to punch Trevor Putney from Norwich. 😁

Mark Wright, one of the best ball playing centre half in the First Division who scored goals while playing for us just like Roy McFarland, Igor Stimac and soon to be Eiran Cashin.
He came from Southampton for less than £1M, Liverpool we sold him I think, how much is it? While playing for who that earned him England cap?
We sold him and Deano to Liverpool in the Summer of 1991 for an absolute bargain of £5.1 million for both. Maxwell was selling up so wanted his cash back when we got relegated at the end of the '91 season.

Best defender ever at Derby
Great days at the BBG along with Saunders, Shilton and the Tin Man. Always remember when Wrighty and Shilts came back from Italia '90 and they were given a reception by the council. About the only thing worth paying for from DCC. Walking through Nottingham City Centre chanting " Ooh Mark Wright" not exactly a good idea on a Friday night coming out of Rock City!
